1 I

Lunch time, for me, is the best time of the day.

The time of the day where green glistening grass would sway in the meadow.

The time of the day where the sun is at its peak and the shade of the trees keeps you cool as the wind quietly brushes its leaves.

The time of the day where i would just sit down and eat ham n' cheese sandwiches under a tree, and stare into the distance, wondering why...

"Al, what are you doin'?"

I said nothing. Just trying to mind on my sandwich. It's very creamy as the cheese was melted when i ovened it. And it also made the honey glazed meat stand ou-

"Cut it out!" He slapped my sandwich away, dropping it on the dirt

"What the hell is your problem!?" I shouted right at him

He had a stern look on his face, but then his eyes had suddenly turned weary

"What's wrong with YOU?"

He took a deep breath and turned

"I just hate it when you're sad" He folded his arms and kicked the dropped sandwich away

I walked up to his direction and turned to his face.

"Don't." He looked away from my gaze.

I turned to his face again, but this time, i grinned.

He started to piece a smile.

"Cut that out. Your face is already a riot" He chuckled

"Ok i'm sorry. About the sandwich"

"You owe me another one if you're really sorry" I poked his side

"Fine." He opened up his folded arms and gave me a tight squeeze. I gave him a tighter one.

We sat down under the tree for the rest of the afternoon and chatted about what food would be nice to eat, planning our next trip, and just snorting at each others nonsensical jokes.

And we just stared ahead as the sun had already started to set. The field had been coated with a gold blanket, resembling the leaves of the autumn season.

"We can beat him right?"

"We will. We have to"
