38 Willful acts

With the news of the downfall of the Uchiha clan, Rei regrets not being able to somehow save a person from the tragedy. If only he had confidence to somehow fill in the role of Itachi, he would have tried to prevent it. But with his meager strength that's almost seen as useless in front of the characters involve in the massacre, Rei couldn't just do something recklessly.

Rei thought of plans that he could've weave to prevent the massacre, but no matter how he put it the only way it could've been change was the interference of the Third Hokage. Which was the biggest problems, since Danzo wanted Shisui's eye from himself because of its power he feared that it could be used against him.

With Danzo's reasoning he justifies his action that he would use it for the safety of the hidden leaf village. Rei didn't like the guy because he did so much B.S. that screwed things up, which if he didn't they probably wouldn't face so much crap.

Back to the academy the boys tried to console Sasuke, but the person saw it as being treated as weak which definitely irked him. Sasuke's search for power like in the canon was solidifying to the point that his previous actions of just proving himself turned into hunger for power.

The people who he saw as weaker than himself are quickly turned into insignificant figures in his life despite be close friends with, and people who he perceives as someone stronger became a huge target to surpass like what it was in the canon when Sasuke first meet Kakashi.

Though this time in the academy the friendly sort of rivalry between Rei and Sasuke turned into unhealthy competition. The boys tried to convince Sasuke to hang out with them to somehow alleviate his mood. But it was all for naught since Sasuke firmly rejected them and when asked for the reason, he answered that he has a goal showing killing intent in his eyes.

Rei didn't mind being the target of Sasuke to surpass, since he is the only person close to him in age but is stronger than him in every aspects. Besides with all the power ups his existence giving everyone it would just even the odds. As a friend Rei felt he should tell him about what really happened to his clan but thinking about the results it might bring Sasuke. Rei decided not to do it since it would only push him out of the village, if he knew about Danzo's involvement and his brother's decision to become the person that he was.

If Sasuke learns the truth right now the chances of him rejecting the village and going on the route of destroying it is a lot higher than the canon, since he hasn't made any deep connection with anyone in the hidden leaf yet, except for his family that is now only a part of his memories. Things would be so troublesome if it happens since it is going to be a history repeats itself like in Madara and Hashirama.

Before the school end, Rei decided that spending more time at the academy is quite detrimental to him but he doesn't want to graduate yet and attract unwanted attention. So, he decided to talk it out with his father.

Rei: Father, I think there's no meaning in me going to school except spending time with my friends. -said with a concerned tone.

Mokichi: You could just apply for graduation early. -Said while smiling seemingly extremely proud of his son.

Rei: I don't want to graduate early though, Dad. -said with the tone of reluctance.

Mokichi: What do you plan to do then? -said with a tone of curiosity.

Rei: Send my shadow clone to class or skip it -Said with a grin.

Mokichi: That's an attitude unbecoming of you Rei. -disappointed with his son's behavior and decision.

Rei quickly explained to his father what his plan was, he reasoned that there's already nothing he could learn inside the academy since he already finished up all the materials. In addition to that Rei is already studying advance things like medicine, which he proved when he showed his healing technique.

Mokichi was surprised that his son was actually trying to be a medical-nin but Rei countered that he just wants to learn it since it would be extremely useful and as a form of training his mind and chakra control skills. Mokichi didn't let him off lightly with saying that though and explained to him that he has to learn it seriously and reach the point that he could really be a medical-nin, since they are few in every hidden village and becoming one not only needs resources but talent.

Rei agreed but it wasn't going to be his main profession and further added that he already learned lightning release and showed it to his father, along with that Rei exhibit his progress in water release controlling the density of water.

Mokichi: With these talents that you showed me for a seven-year-old child, you really have to graduate fast and enter the anbu soon son. -He said proudly and brimming with patriotism towards the hidden leaf.

Rei: I don't want to. I like to spend time with my friends more and train on my own.

-He said willfully like a child. but truthfully, he still spends time training with his master Chen and graduating and expediting his promotion to chunin and entering anbu is possible specially with his current skills. besides he doesn't know if anbu could train him in combat better than his master which is most likely not.

Mokichi: The anbu force could train you better, Rei. -he said trying to convince his son.

Rei: But I really want to stay in the academy I little bit more so I could help out Shizuku. Since it looks like you are extremely busy with work, dad. -he said dramatically.

Rei reasoned out his little sister to be able to stay in school, since with his father's absence Shizuku wasn't trained as much as he was but that was to be expected since his little sister is not mentally mature as he is. So, he plans to guide her slowly at home or in school whenever he has time, aside from that Rei liked to influence the rookie nine a little bit more but with his best friend over there he thinks that they are doing a great job.

Truthfully, Rei is just afraid to take up the head protector and go out as early as now since he hasn't developed his skills yet. True that he couldn't die easily with his skills set but if Naruto's team seven encountered a Zabuza and Haku for the first C-rank mission, with their plot armor they survive the damned thing. But as of now Rei has been thinking that he has such rotten luck in this world except for the blessing of such a great family, going out of the village is quite a nightmare for him.

On the other hand Mokichi was awakened by Rei's answer and realize his short coming towards his cute little daughter. Mokichi plans to spend more time at home rather than work in the anbu but the duty never picks its time and could only answer the call. In the end Mokichi allowed his son for his decision but plans to take him to the Hokage and asked for permission, so that the Lord Third does not get disappointed with Rei and asked for a solution and permission to get someone to train his son in medicine.

Time quickly passed by the end of the school year quickly come, but Rei wasn't interested in participating anymore to the annual competition. Which disappointed the teachers and students specially Sasuke who's been trying to surpass him all this time.

Luckily though that Seiho was there to liven things in the competition his best friend had minimum attendance in class because of his training which improve his hand-to-hand fighting tremendously, according to the boys' explanations.

Seiho might have been frustrated of avoiding a close combat battle with him that's must've been the reason why he trained crazily as well. Rei laughed imagining Seiho's face being trained by his mother or father complaining that the training is too harsh. The fight between Seiho and Sasuke in the finals was quite amazing according to Naruto, Sasuke's fire release was almost as awesome as Seiho's but he lost because of Seiho's creativity with his earth release and over powered lava release.

The Hokage finally had the time to spare to meet with Rei and talk about his plans. One morning in the Hokage's office.

Third Hokage(Hiruzen Sarutobi): I've heard about you from your father, Rei. -he said while smiling.

Rei: I've read about you from books as well, hehehe. - He said cheekily, since he knows that he could get away with it.

Third Hokage: Hahaha! that's feels like I'm a relic of the past to be written in books. -said with a laugh.

Mokichi: Rei, you should apo-

Third Hokage: It's ok, besides I feel like I'm getting old now a few years ago I finally had a grandson. -said with the look of satisfaction.

Third Hokage: Since I'm an old man now that has a grandson, you could freely call me grandpa. - he said with a smile and smoothly tried to build a relationship with a potential pillar of the village.

Rei quickly called the Third Hokage a grandpa, because who doesn't want to have such a relationship with a power house who knows things might just work out for him. Their conversation geared towards Rei's skipping of classes and training, which Rei later answered with what he told his father but this time he added the concepts of the will of fire.

Further explaining that he wants to become a sort of medic-nin and a combat specialist, since he could save the people he cares about his friends and family then connecting it to the will of fire that everyone in the village is family. As a combat specialist Rei could have the power to protect or destroy the things that threatens his friends and family.

At the end of their conversation Hiruzen Sarutobi the Third Hokage was smitten by Rei's love for the village with his dedication to learn both specialties. With Rei's rate of improvement, he didn't bother trying to stop the child and allowed for him to go train in Hidden leaf's Hospital and become an expert of medicine but has to still appear in the academy casually and pass all the exams. And assigned for him to be trained in the anbu H.Q. in resisting interrogation techniques that targets the mind with the presence of his father. Rei feared they might read whatever happened to him in his past life but the trainers only past it off as a wild dream of a child, since the things they couldn't properly be explained

Time quickly flew by another year has passed Rei is now an Eight-year-old child but from the people who knows of his skills well, he is one of the youngest to learn medical techniques like the "chakra scalpel" and surprisingly capable of the A-rank medical-nin technique "Mystical Palm Technique", which requires high levels of chakra control.

Rei is quite happy at his current progress maybe even eclipsing some of the greatest medical-nin, though he isn't very well versed yet in viruses, poisons, and other things the ability to heal himself or allies is already a massive achievement in his view. It is extremely evident that Rei is quite talented in chakra control what prevented him from learning the techniques quickly is the lack of guidance of a teacher, if he had someone to teach him the medical techniques right away he might have learnt the chakra scalpel quite easily.

The doctors of the hidden leaf quickly grew fond of him with his talents and humble nature with their help, Rei quickly attained his current level of skill. Aside from his Medical skills he learned another B-rank water release which is "water formation wall" giving him more option in defense.

Rei's water release has been growing stronger as well from the usual ones because of his density control that makes the water heavier, which he is focusing on but one point he'll have to train in changing its viscosity giving him an option of trapping his opponents.

With his improvement in chakra control he has been thinking of shape manipulations he could apply in his techniques but one has been bugging him. Rei's training with the anbu with mind has been quite successful in raising the quality of his spiritual energy. But it hasn't reach the level yet where it is equal its counterpart, at least it is two level below or one with this problem Rei thinks that his control could still take a great leap once it's resolve.
