17 Training in the wilds (end)

The next day after their exhausting fight with the wolf pack rei decided to be more cautious and vigilant, quickly dispersing their scent is good way to start that so he used "Shoukyo no Nioi". After dispersing their scent, he went to seiho's tree to wake him up but it made rei a little bit sad for the little one because of his mutterings of mom and dad when are they going to save him while hugging the tree trunk. Rei was again reminded that they were only four-years-old in this world and seiho's young mind would not be able to take in this kind of stress and maybe his best friend is only hanging on a thread that he is in this place with rei if seiho was all alone he might've breakdown from not knowing what to do.

Rei: Seiho, wake up we have to move.

Seiho: I few more minutes...

Rei: we can't seiho we need to take advantage of the light of day it'll be harder for us to move later.

Seiho: uugghhh... Rei? are we still in the forest?

Rei: yeah... too bad huh...

Seiho: I thought it was all a bad dream.

Rei: it's ok seiho once this is done we'll just talk about this as one of our legendary adventures!

Seiho: Right then we'll get to brag about it in the academy as well with our new friends!

Rei: yeah, so let's go we have to find breakfast and lunch as well.

Rei already learned how to climb up trees without using his hands so it's quite easy for him to maneuver on trees while seiho didn't have that kind of skills yet so they both have to walk on ground or risk seiho being open to attacks. The three parents are now down to two with just sayoko and mokichi since kata has work to do. Mokichi and sayoko both followed the young boys in the shadows.

Sayoko: I must say rei is really quite talented having that kind of chakra control at a young age.

Mokichi: I told you that my son's even more talented than me in chakra control that's also the reason why it's quite intriguing on what kind of path he'll chose once he starts to specialize his skills.

Sayoko: is that the reason why you keep on training him in his basics that hard?

Mokichi: think about it if he reaches elite jonin level or kage level in bukijutsu and taijutsu whatever he chooses to pick to specialize in the future he'll be one heck of a ninja. The same goes for seiho he has genius level talent in ninjutsu if his close combat skills reach elite level as well he'll be even harder to deal with than rei.

Sayoko: I think so as well we might just follow your approach with seiho to make him a well-rounded ninja.

Mokichi: you have to think deeper about seiho seeing that he has two affinity he might just be able to form advance nature transformation.

Sayoko: that's going to be a lot more interesting and yet we can only offer a little in that since there's no one in our village who has talents like that.

Mokichi: true but maybe seiho will be the first.

Sayoko: I'll have work to do once I'm back on duty then.

Mokichi: You'll get my help don't worry once I'm back on duty we can search for information.

The two little guys move around and checked their previously set up traps for preys and seeing that they caught a bunch of small games they then prepared for their meals. Learning his lessons rei didn't let the smell of roasted meat spread around like it did yesterday being the cause of a wolf pack attack. Rei instruct seiho on how to cook their meal as he needs to patrol around so that they don't get ambushed like yesterday, which seiho agreed to since the fear from yesterday's event still lingers in his mind.

Rei: ok, Seiho I have to go patrol around are camp so we don't get attack like yesterday.

Seiho: I'll try to cook this well.

Rei moved on top of the trees to have a better view and advantage in positioning he moved around to observe the perimeter of their camp securing it so that they don't suffer from the same mistake yesterday. After a few rounds a patrolling he decided that there's no threat to seiho and him for the time being so he came back to their camp and have a meal.

Rei: good job seiho for cooking our meal today.

Seiho: yeah, I followed what you did yesterday.

Rei: I patrolled around and I didn't see the wolves maybe they're afraid of us now.

Seiho: I hope so too but what do we do next?

Rei: we still don't know where we are so we look for clues... one would be following a river since one way or another we'll be bound to somehow meet people or village. The other look for a road but we're in the middle of a jungle and we have no idea where to go. third go look for a higher ground to get a better view maybe if we find a mountain and reach its top will see hidden leaf village or anything close to it.

Seiho: Ok then let's do the third one uuhhmmm because we sort of did the first one yesterday and we saw a lot of predators beside the river... and the second option seems impossible right now while the last one is I think our only option.

Rei: ok!

Rei didn't know if the third option is really doable or if they're going to survive doing that since hiking is very exhausting to one's body and they're lost but since they are ninja in training they could defend themselves and hunt he just hopes that if they ever reach the top of the mountain they'll see a land mark that's nearby their village. The two kids continued to move hoping to see a mountain or any land form that has enough elevation from them to see as far as possible while searching rei has also another added task for himself which is to continue familiarizing himself with tree climbing for his chakra control practice and looking for threats that on their path. Seiho on the other hand continued to walk on the ground since he didn't have time to learn what rei's doing right now.

As rei was moving atop of the trees he caught a glimpse of the wolfpack that ambushed them he realized that this kind of wild animals really do hold a grudge and the alpha wolf who was burnt by seiho's ninjutsu was still moving about though a little banged up and burnt the wounds only made it look more frightening. this time he decided to be proactive so he went back to seiho to inform him of his plans.

Rei: the wolf pack are tracking us seiho.

Seiho: what... what do we do then rei?

Rei: don't be afraid we've already reduce their numbers by a whole lot from yesterday's fight so we stand better chance today.

Seiho: but still we don't have weapon... I think we could slaughter them if we have conserving chakra fighting throught that many is really hard.

Rei: don't worry I'll first dispersed our scent and remove our tracks with my ninjutsu then we set up traps so by the time they reach us their numbers would be so low.

Seiho: Ok but what kind of traps can we make we don't have anything.

Rei: we have a forest we can make wooden spears and besides you have earth release skills we can just make booby traps.

Seiho: ok!

rei's first move was to remove their tracks with "Shoukyo Torakku" and dispersed their scent with "Shoukyo no Nioi" to buy themselves some time so they could set up their traps. Rei instructed seiho to dig some pits using his earth release so they could make booby traps having wooden spears beneath it pointing up to pierced the enemy who's fallen in it. afterwards rei made a few snare traps made from vines and having rocks as its counter weight that would pull up the wolf who's step on the snare. After they made their respective traps rei made more wooden spears since they didn't have proper weapons and was relying on their "transformation technique" it would be a lot of help to have some ready weapon even if made crudely it could still pierce. The two adults who's still on leave from the duty are looking at what rei has done.

Sayoko: rei's quite smart and pretty devious when he is dealing with enemies.

Mokichi: that's how it should be in this war streakin' world you should cherish your love ones and be ruthless to enemies.

Rei helped seiho get up on the trees for safety even if seiho could fight they both didn't want to commit the same mistake yesterday where they would both ended up dead if not for their luck and ninjutsu. setting up a meat to be grilled which what lead the wolves yesterday to their camp was rei's plan to lure them in and he used "shadow clone technique" to summon a single clone to serve as bait he didn't mine doing this since the chakra remaining in the clone would come back to him once dispersed. Rei and Seiho concealed themselves on top of the trees while waiting for their "prey" to attack them.

Seiho: this time let's show them who's boss rei hehehe.

Rei: yeap it's revenge for the wounds they gave us yesterday besides we'll really need to wipe them out since they've already have a grudge against us.

Seiho: I hope our traps work.

The wolf pack continued to search for the two boys who killed their comrades and wounded their alpha wolf. Their pack leader is extremely furious that two little kids was able to wound him. The Alpha wolf now has to show the whole pack of his might by killing the two boys and prove that his strength is still absolute in his pack for his position not to be threaten by the younger wolves. As they walked by one of the wolves who's leading suddenly smelled what lead them to the boys yesterday a smell of meat being cooked. The wolf then informed their leader with howls and growls with the alpha's confirmation the pack quickly move in towards the smell of cooked meat.

As the pack quickly move towards the smell of meat one wolf leading stepped on a snare and triggered the trap quickly pulling him up. The wolf helplessly asked for help but its wolf pack had no idea how save him and with the urging of their alpha to quickly move forward to get their revenge the remaining wolves though warry had no choice but to follow. The wolves rush towards the smell of meat eager for revenge but their numbers continue to fall by triggering snare traps that would pull their fellow wolves up hanging on a tree, falling down on booby traps to be pierced at the bottom. Their numbers reduce to a few and fueled by hatred and thirst for revenge the wolf pack arrive at the kids camp their eyes glowing red furious for their fallen allies.

Rei saw the wolf packs sorry state and thought to himself how ingenious his plan was and seeing their furious eyes eager for revenge he just knows that they'll fall for his trap again. The alpha wolf was on guard so he let his lackeys attack the "unknowing kid" cooking by the camp. Seeing this Seiho and rei made a huge smile on their faces since the shadow clone would only dispersed but the wolves would pay for something they couldn't afford. The wolves attacked rei's "shadow clone" dispersing it, surprised by the sudden turn of event the wolves were helpless and with their added weight on the ground triggered the booby trap sending them down to their pits of despair with wooden spears piercing through their bodies quickly ending countless lives. The Alpha wolf was now caught in a predicament their numerous number before yesterday's event turned to meager and now to a handful. These handful number of wolves would be difficult for them to continue their hunting and keep their territory.

Seeing that the wolves' handful of numbers rei would never let go of this opportunity, he then signaled to seiho to get ready as they are intent on wiping out the wolves who threatened their lives. Rei jumped down to make the first move against the alpha wolf dashing forward and making a stabbing motion with his wooden spear. The alpha wolf didn't let himself be stabbed without a fight and quickly dodge the wooden spear. Rei didn't let the wolf off so he made a sweeping motion targeting its legs the alpha wolf then reacted by jumping up like it didn't learned it lessons that being exposed mid-air is a big mistake against the kids. Since seiho's up in the tree he didn't let go this opportunity as well and threw his wooden spear like a javelin. The wolves didn't let their leader be hit as they tackled him in the air to be get out of the way. A number of wolves' attack rei as well rushing towards him eager to take a bit out of his flesh rei retreated to put some distance and use "transformation technique" on his wooden spear to turn it into a glaive and slashed towards them cutting a few in the process while lightly wounding some. With weapon in hand the and not outnumbered like how they suffered the previous day are now venting all their pent-up anger. Not willing to be left behind in kills seiho also jumped down and formed hand-seals to used "Earth Release: Tearing Earth Turning Palm" opening the earth beneath the remaining wolves and swallowing them down to be buried alive.

The Alpha wolf left alone with the two little ninjas about to outflank him wants to run for his life but rei and seiho wouldn't allow him to so it gathered its remaining courage, fury, and strength and rush towards Rei aiming for his throat. Rei didn't shy away from the fight and turned his transformed glaive into a pike using the "transformation technique" and make a piercing motion with his pike towards the alpha wolf's mouth. The Alpha wolf and rei's clash ended instantly with rei's advantage in range he easily pierced through the mouth of the alpha wolf and his weapon entering its mouth and slicing through it innards and opening up its belly from the inside instantly killing it.

Rei: Finally done with this problem...

Seiho: yeah, your traps were awesome rei teach me sometime ok?

Rei: sure! maybe we can make some prank traps as well hehehe...

Seiho: Who do we prank?

Rei: your dad and my dad?

Seiho: won't they get mad?

Rei: I don't think so they'll just think were being playful.

Sayoko laughed at rei's suggestion thinking that this nephew is quite playful despite having a mature mind with almost everything, while mokichi on the other hand had cold chills since he knows that his son is quite smart he just might make crazy traps that even being an elite jonin can't go out unscathed.

The two left the corpse of their kills since burning it might cause a forest fire getting them into more trouble and burying it won't really matter since other animals would be able to track it and dig them up. Rei and seiho now went through their journey towards a mountain nearby a little bit of trouble here and there but not as bad as when they face a whole pack of hungry wolves. rei walking at the top of the trees made traveling easier since he could scout ahead and their experiences kept piling up so they don't commit silly mistakes like their first day. Rei and seiho finally was about to reach their goal of reaching the top of a mountain when they suddenly heard screams and laughter. in rei's mind he is already complaining a dozen time about not being the main character of this world and he shouldn't be experiencing so many unfortunate events like this that would promote his growth and experience.

Rei: seiho stop don't approach the voices yet.

Seiho: why rei we're finally meeting people...

Rei: don't you find it weird to encounter random people at this place.

Seiho: what's weird?

Rei: this is a completely remote location with wild animals why would people live here. There's also the screaming that's calling for help.

Seiho: yeah that's why we should go since they are calling for help...

Rei: and if you go what's your plan?

Seiho: beat up who's troubling them?

Rei: what if they're stronger than you?

Seiho: run away?

Rei: The only people that could be stronger than us are ninjas or people who's had training so how can you run then.

Seiho: then what do we do?

Rei: you hide first I'll scout the situation you can never be reckless to dive in a situation where you don't know what's going on unless absolutely necessary.

Sayoko and Mokichi agrees with what rei just said as a ninja you should really be aware of the situation before actually jumping in being a reckless is an ingredient for death. On the other hand rei move from the top of the trees to scout what was happening.

following the voice rei saw a group of men dragging helpless tied up people inside a hut so rei complains to himself that after all this time that finally he'll be able to reach a highly elevated place he'd encounter a kidnapper's den his rotten luck really knows no limits. Rei quickly went back to seiho's place telling him about what he saw but unsure of the number of enemies since he doesn't know if what he saw was the total number of kidnappers who knows if there's still people inside.

Rei: Seiho it's really bad they kidnapped people.

Seiho: who did?

Rei: some bad guys...

Seiho: then let's be heroes and save them!

Rei: I'm not sure if we can win though I think we should wait for the cover of the night so we can ambush them.

Seiho: but what if they do something bad to their hostages...

Rei: but we need to have a plan...

Seiho: I think this time we just have to rush and beat the crap out of them after all we even beat wolves on our own, which is much scarier than them.

Rei: people are much scarier seiho they can think and plan ahead... so we have to make a plan...

Seiho: if we don't move now people might die... even though I'm a little scared but people dying is much scarer since we almost died with the wolf pack so I'm going to save them rei let's go back me up!

Rei wanted to punch seiho so he could wake him up that there's nothing more dangerous than not knowing your own strength and your enemies after all what's scariest the most is fighting something you don't know because you don't have an idea how to deal with it. Seiho dash towards the screaming voices hoping he could save them while rei follow's from behind but decided not to be on sight so he moved up from the trees. Mokichi was satisfied by what his son said but seiho's opinion also count if you could prevent someone from dying if you act immediately that is also acceptable since he has done so a couple of times even forsaking missions to save an ally just like what the "white fang" did, kakashi's father.

The two adults moved to look at what rei found out as well they saw thug looking men who kidnapped civilians since this forest was not part of anbu's patrol although nearby hidden leaf village these maggots of society decided to make it their home base. Mokichi was eager to slaughter these good for nothings of society.

Mokichi: I think we should finish this training now and save those helpless people.

Sayoko: I would have to agree on that but let's wait this time... I been raring to go a lot of times in this "training" for seiho and Rei but you two keep on holding me back now it's my turn besides those people are just wannabee bandits and thieves they'll never stand a chance against the kids.

Mokichi: we could always save the day is that right?

sayoko nods to mokichi's reply.

Seiho ran with his make shift wooden spear in hand and arrived at the hut where the hostages are being held.

Seiho: Come on out here!

Seiho shouted with his young voice that didn't sounded threatening at all. The bandits went out of the hut laughing wondering whose child willingly let himself come here idiotically.

Bandit A: look we got ourself a brave child with a wooden spear that thinks he could beat us with it... it looks like our swords and axes doesn't put much threat these days.

Bandit B: HAHAHA! we'll just get more money if we ransom or sell him right?

Bandit C: I guess so go ahead and caputre him right away.

Seiho: you guys think you're so tough huh... we'll see!

Rei was looking at seiho while he was hidden on top of the trees and thought why he would do that even if he wins he's just asking the hostages to be killed then he suddenly thought oh right he's a kid. Seiho initiated the fight with the three bandits in front of him he even forgot about rei and was too caught up with saving the hostages, he dashed forward to one of the bandit wielding an axe with a thrusting motion of his wooden spear targeting the man's torso. the bandit reacted by shifting his body to his right but then seiho followed up a sweeping attack using his wooden spear hitting the bandit's torso stunning him for a bit.

Bandit B: You arrogant kid, I'll kill you now!

getting hit by a wooden spear by a little kid embarass the bandit but then seiho realize that he forgot to transform his weapon using his "transformation technique" to deal more damage. Seiho retreats back as the bandit swung his axe towards him with a huge motion. Seeing this as a chance with his opponent off guard he quickly formed hand-seals and use "Fire Release: Flame Bullet" hitting the bandit and burning him alive. The bandit kneels and collapse hard while burning giving seiho his first kill. Seiho pumped with adrenaline didn't mind killing a bandit at this point his only concern is saving the hostages.

Bandit A: oy, we got ourselves some trouble a little ninja kid is here a little help here.

Bandit C: Hurry up! he already got one of us.

Seeing the bandits calling for back up rei saw this as an opportunity to sneak in and and free up the hostages and thought I'm sure seiho could hold his ground for a bit I just hope no over power person suddenly shows up... now that I said it with my rotten luck somebody just might pop up. Two more bandits walkout from the hut holding a mace and a saber feeling sleepy and irritated.

Bandit leader: why the hell were you shouting?!

Bandit A: we got ourselves a little trouble.

Bandit D: oi, who's that burnt man.

Bandit A: that's Bandit B!

Bandit Leader: damn! who killed him!

Bandit C: that little squirt over there.

Seiho just looked fiercely at the bandits holding his wooden spear seeing that he now has four opponent and that the leader looks tougher than the others he felt fear but thinking about the hostages inside the hut he steeled his will and prepared to fight. Seiho dashed forward to one of the bandits to try and pierce him with his wooden spear but the bandit parried his attack with his sword cutting his spear short including its sharp point. While seiho was fighting for his life with the four bandits outside of the hut Rei was already inside looking for the hostages but when he did rei quickly hide himself in the shadows because there's one more bandit remaining inside the hut who keeps watch on the hostages. Rei moved around quietly and look for a weapon he could use luckily, he found himself a kitchen knife. Rei stalked the bandit guarding the hostages while hiding his knife behind his back looking for an opportunity to kill him in one hit not alerting anyone else he even walked on the ceiling to avoid the bandit's line of sight once he saw him drop his guard rei jumped down on bandit and directly stabbing his neck just like an assassin. Rei use "transformation technique" on himself to look like an adult to assure the hostages that he is reliable and tell them they are safe.

Rei: are you guys ok?

Woman: yeah... who are you?

Rei: just a warrior passing by. hurry up and help me free everyone.

Rei gave the knife the woman while he gets the short blade the dead bandit was using to free everyone he then leads them towards the entry point he used so that they could escape safely. Meanwhile Seiho was fighting for his life against the four bandits.

Bandit leader: don't let him form hand-seals close in on him always remember if he's able to use a ninjutsu we're all doomed.

Bandit A: right boss.

Seiho was having a hard time fighting four at once he wonders where his best friend went. Seiho dashed towards the axe left behind the fallen bandit and use it as his weapon but its weight didn't really suit him because it was too heavy he could use it just fine but fighting with it looks awkward with his small body. the bandit leader slashed at him with his saber, seiho could only let go of his weapon to dodge it in time now weaponless seiho's now defenseless against these parasites of society.

Seiho: gggrrr... what to do now I don't have a weapon.

Bandit leader: give it up kid you'll die anyway struggling against us would just make your death dificult.

Seiho: you wish!

Seiho used "body flicker" to put some distance from the bandits since he can't beat them right now might as well run from them for a bit then engage back when rei comes back. But the bandit didn't let him get away they chased after him looking for revenge for their fallen comrade. The Bandit's attention was solely focus on seiho giving rei a chance of turning the tides against them he quickly rushes towards the axe dropped by seiho and used "transformation technique" turning it into a fuma shuriken he quickly throws it towards one of the bandits chasing seiho. Unaware the bandit was bisected by a fuma shuriken not even knowing how he died. the three remaining bandits notice what just happen to their comrade and curse towards seiho for misleading them. Rei "body flickered" towards one of the bandits and slash his back but the bandit was able to react and moved forward and was not cut deeply.

Bandit leader: bastards! you'll pay for this! you two let's form a formation

Bandit D: yes sir!

Bandit C: got it boss.

Bandit leader: remember not to let them form hand-seals!

Seeing the three make a formation to defend themselves rei thought this just got a little troublesome but then dismissed it because he could just take them all out at the same time. Rei signaled to seiho to use a ninjutsu and that he'll keep the bandits occupied he dash towards a sword wielding bandit and slashed at him horizontally using his short blade but the man deflected his attack then another bandit jumps in to slashed at him rei quickly retreated sensing the other party's intention dodging his attack but their cooperation was not finish yet the saber wielding leader followed him and made a hacking motion threatening to cut him on his shoulders. Rei knew he couldn't block this strike and the only option he has is to dodge so he quickly used "body replacement technique" surprising the bandits with his instant cast ninjutsu as a child at that point they knew they were in trouble. Seiho being left alone now has the right moment to unleash his ninjutsu "Fire Release: Dragon Fire Technique" at his maximum output so that he could end the fight instantly. The bandits hit by the fire looked devastated but their bandit leader used his two comrades as a shield to survive.

Bandit leader: just my luck running into devilish ninjas!

Rei didn't bother listening to his complain and used "body flicker" to appear behind and slashed towards his neck. beheaded the bandit leader fell. The two kids release a sigh of relief that this encounter didn't kill or wound them but now the thought of killing someone hit seiho while rei felt nothing because this could be the second time around he killed someone besides he already died ones and knows how it felt it was instantly and wasn't that bad. Mokichi and Sayoko saw the kids end the fight and now appeared before them so that they could take them home and council them about their first kill and experience.

Mokichi: yo, son how are you doing?

Rei: dad? what took you so long. I already knew this was kind of a crazy thing to happen sleeping inside the house of an elite ninja is impossible to happen.

Mokichi: stop being so smart son, but anyway I'm proud of what you did we have to go home now or your mom would kill me.

Rei: I'll tell her everything...

Mokichi: OK ok ok.. what do I need to give you so you don't tell on me...?

Rei: I'll think about it once were back home I'm really tired now dad I'm going to sleep carry me home ok!

Rei fell asleep the stress and work he had to do over the days and taking care of seiho took its toll on him even if he has the mind of an adult his young body can't keep up.

Sayoko: Seiho come here!

Seiho run towards his mom and complained how it took so long for her to find him he was crying hard and gave her the hardest hug and fall asleep hugging her tightly afraid of letting go.
