19 Taijutsu Class

Rei continued to talk with naruto just about anything his new friend could think of. It was very evident that naruto wants to have friends to spend time with since a lot of people in the village don't want to mingle with him and even if he somehow makes a new friend they instantly don't turn up the next day probably their parents telling them not to spend time with him since they think naruto is a menace of their village besides naruto want to make a lot of friends since there's no one to accompany him at home. Since rei is already friends with him there's no turning back now he might as well try to fix naruto's fighting form which was a huge mess in the first part of the original series. Their class in range weapons is almost finish so Teacher Iruka took all their attention and told them to remember their current partners since it would be permanent for the whole year then dismissed them.

Just as rei was finally stretching out waiting for their next class to start a man with a white hair with bluish tint with a length long enough to reach his shoulders, and green eyes came in the training hall. Rei was startled by this person because in the original story this guy was a lackey of Orochimaru named Mizuki he is the reason why naruto stole the scroll of seals when naruto can't graduate the academy mizuki took advantage of naruto's naive mind and young mind to trick him into it which ended up in naruto learning the shadow clone technique. Rei now wonders if this man has already attached himself to Orochimaru or if he can learn anything from him at all since he got pummeled by naruto's multiple clones.

Mizuki: I'm going to be your teacher for Taijutsu you all can just call me Teacher mizuki.

Everyone: yes, teacher Mizuki.

Mizuki: Ok come at me one at a time so I can measure your skills in taijutsu well let's start with a right-

As he was about to finish his sentence naruto thought that this is his time to make people notice him and become friends with everyone when he was about to shout rei was about the stop him but naruto already dash forward and helplessly look at him from behind.

Naruto: I'll go first teacher mizuki!

Mizuki: ok then come at me naruto.

Naruto took a fighting stance against mizuki then rushed forward like a boar like he always does in the original series and made a huge swinging punch. Mizuki just smiled and stepped back making naruto missed he then stepped forward to give him a light kick but naruto was not done yet he ducks down dodging Mizuki's kick and rush towards him with his odd looking front kick so mizuki responded with a faster back kick hitting naruto and what's supposed to be a light kick turn into a counter kick due to naruto's rushing forwad making a thud sound sending naruto rolling backwards in pain.

Mizuki: ai... sorry naruto I didn't mean to hit you like that but you should really work on your taijutsu and stopped rushing in like that it would get you killed when you become a ninja in the future.

Naruto still on the ground whimpering but stood up like nothing happened showing his unlimited stamina and endurance one of the crazy reason why "shadow clone technique" suits him just rushed the enemy with endless clone.

Naruto: I'm ok sensei but I'm not done yet! believe it!

Mizuki: it's enough naruto you can go back now so that others can practice with me too.

Naruto walked out of the field disappointed on how embarrassing his lost against the instructor was, in his thoughts why do I have to lose rolling backwards like that. Rei consoled him that he could just train so that he gets better on the other hand the other students laughed at naruto's comedic show but then was stop by their teacher. Rei was just watching his fellow student fight against mizuki like he expected Sasuke's standards are beyond his classmates still initiating his attack with cautiousness and smooth form not allowing mizuki to counter attack ruthlessly like what happened to naruto. Sasuke's and mizuki's sparring was an eye opener for the students that they were all lagging behind an uchiha genius even though sasuke lost it was expected since their teacher is a chunin but as five-year-old student that was enough to show his talent. Among his classmates' rei saw the other noteworthy people in taijutsu like kiba's animalistic fighting style, choji's style of fighting relying on his body size compensating for his lack of athleticism, Hinata's gentle fist, and shikamaru's smart way of fighting his best friend Seiho didn't fall behind as well since with their life and death experience seiho's combat techniques instinctively aims for the kill as fast as possible.

Mizuki: right who's still hasn't had their chance?

Seiho: oh, uuuhhmmm Rei hasn't had his turn yet.

Mizuki: ok then rei come over here and show me what you've learn before the academy.

Rei: uuuhhmm, everything?

Mizuki: yeah don't hold back!

Rei: are you sure? -rei tilts his head a little thinking if he should really go all out.

Mizuki: come on rei I'm a chunin don't worry.

Rei: ok, I'm not holding back then sensei.

Rei didn't know the extent of the abilities of his teacher Mizuki in taijutsu but since he was overwhelmed by naruto's multiple shadow clone he is sure that he isn't that over powered even as a chunin but since his teacher told him to go all out he has to right so he grins "evilly". Mizuki waited for Rei to come and make his stance looking forward to this student's prowess in taijutsu at this point he actually feels that this batch of shinobis are as talented as the last in terms of taijutsu he wonders what his last student could do. Rei made a basic fighting stance against his teacher since he was told to go all out he was supposed to right so he dashes forward and feinted for a left kick towards mizuki's mid-section, mizuki on the other hand was surprised by Rei's speed being a little bit faster than sasuke uchiha so he hastily tried to block the kick towards him but the sudden turn of events shocked him even more. Rei saw his teacher's reaction towards his feint so he jumped with his right foot and spin clockwise mid-air for a round house kick targeting mizuki's right temple caught off guard mizuki actually wanted to use "body replacement technique" to escape his student's assault but that would be embarrassing so he forced himself to crouch down to dodge barely avoiding rei's kick and tried to attack back with a straight punch towards rei who was expose mid-air. Seeing his teacher's counter attack rei used his kick's momentum to flung himself upward now upside down in air he meets his teacher's fist with a right palm strike using the force to propel himself backward and acrobatically retreat to his original position. all of his classmates were shock by his performance his supposed to be low key self now turn high profile which gave him a headache he didn't know that mizuki would react like that to his kick feint and his body just move on its own because of his constant training and sparring with his father.

Mizuki already assessed Rei's fighting skills and also didn't want to continue since he experience firsthand what kind of technique and body control Rei has he didn't want to risk the chance of being embarrassed in front of his students he knows that he could beat his student but as a teacher that would be really embarrassing getting serious against a five-year-old kid so he stopped the sparring in case Rei hit him luckily because in fights you'll never really know unless it's done.

Mizuki: ok, rei I can see that you are definitely very skilled at your age so try to answer your classmate's questions later after we have a round robin of sparring.

Rei: uuhhmm, ok it looks like I don't have a choice.

His best friend seiho and naruto run towards him after his "sparring" with mizuki sensei.

Seiho: I knew you were just crazy good but were you holding back on me all this time?

Rei: hey it's hard to get close to you when sparring because you'll just bombard me with ninjutsu before I even get close.

Seiho: hahaha! yeah, I'm actually afraid of close combat with you.

Naruto: really you guys can use ninjutsu?

Seiho: yeah, rei's actually stronger than me... except in ninjutsu I think I'm a little better than him since I got more damaging power than he does.

Naruto: you guys are so cool! I'll surpass you guys in no time you better believe it!

Seeing Rei's performance sasuke was itching to have a crack at him and when he heard teacher mizuki's statement of round robin of sparring he can't wait to spar with rei to prove that he is not far from his brother's talent eager to prove himself. Sasuke also heard that the two can perform ninjutsu so he is now planning to temper himself even more because he didn't want to be an embarrassment to his brother's achievement and plan to surpass rei and seiho. Meanwhile rei is just having a headache because he really didn't want to standout he just want to breeze through his academy days like a nobody but it looks like it's not going to happen now.

Mizuki: let's go have a round robin sparring match you can start with partner you had in the long range weapon class!

everyone nods with teacher mizuki's instruction but naruto sort of grumbled because he is going to fight with rei with skills beyond his own as he saw it but he never backs down anyway he'll just have to go at it and hope to improve till one day surpass everyone. Rei and naruto are facing against each other for their first spar so they both made the traditional shinobi sparring and started with the seal of confrontation and made a fighting stance against each other. Naruto is always loud so he told rei right away that he better gets ready because now his true skills are going to show rei on the other hand just nods waiting for naruto to make a move since he knows how impatient naruto is. Naruto was not able to wait he already lost in battle of patience seeing that rei was not moving at all he rush forward this time starting it with a right front kick rei reacted by shifting his body to naruto's left side dodging the naruto's reckless kick and countered using a left low kick towards naruto's left foot tripping him forward.

Naruto: that's cheating rei come on... Come at me with all you got!

Rei: Naruto I'll be honest ok; do you know that your taijutsu really sucks sorry about that-rei said scratching his head.

Naruto: well nobody taught me how to fight...

Rei: then come at me for now as long as you have the stamina later on you can come train taijutsu with me if you want.

Naruto: really?! you said it rei you can't take that back!

Rei: Yeah, sure we are friends, right?

Naruto: yeap! ok here I go!

Rei: once we start training for real I'm not going to allow you to quit!

Naruto: I'm not a quitter! Besides I'll surpass that sasuke showing him that he is not the number in our class, I'll surpass you too rei! you wait for it.

Rei: well nothing is impossible naruto just keep on training I'm pretty sure you'll caught up with us in no time.

Naruto: you said it!

Rei knew naruto's potential since he is a huge fan of the whole series and naruto was just really clumsy and sucks at the first part because of his lack of guidance if his father or mother were alive and taught him from an early age he might just beat the crap out of anyone in the academy and even graduate early. Naruto has his short coming as well like he doesn't understand complicated concepts and needs simple analogy to understand but his instincts in learning everything, exploiting loopholes and thinking outside of the box are top class. Rei's sparring with naruto wasn't that exciting at all it became a classic teaching of do's and don'ts but as the two kids spar rei realizes that naruto's instincts are no joke since he was gradually improving and reacting to his movements.

After his sparring with naruto rei got to spar with his other classmates like kiba who tried hard by being aggressive, sure attacking is his strong point and his attacks are great with variability, speed, and power but his defense was almost nothing so he dismantled him easily after avoiding his advances after losing kiba swore he'll win next time. Choji came at him with vigor his strength is definitely exceptional when rei tried to parry one of his attacks or meet it head on with one of his own he was actually pushed back but choji was not without a weakness his speed and agility is lacking vastly compared to his strengths so rei exploited this weakness when choji tried to attack him again he just use feints and attacked him from his sides winning the match at the end of the match rei told choji not to worry about his weakness since he was sure he'll learn how to cover it in the future but choji was not interested in that and said I'll listen to you if you give me snacks which made rei laugh. Rei also sparred with shino but it was not interesting since he can't use his bugs that can be counted as tools since they were just fighting hand to hand it won't be appropriate for him to use it but rei really feared their clan since they sucked out chakra with their bugs imagine getting caught with it. Hinata's spar with him was supposedly something rei looks forward to since he wants to see the gentle fist but hinata's techniques and battle instincts has not matured yet and gentle's fist style is countering attacks and hitting their opponents critically since hinata can't apply it against rei's speed and variability she ended up losing. the most boring one would probably Rei's spar with shikamaru since shikamaru understood right away that if they fought solely in taijutsu he wouldn't stand a chance he gave up right away saying that it was worthless to try fighting since he already calculated countless plans in hand-to-hand combat against him but there's no way he is winning.

The last sparring match everyone was looking forward to was rei and sasuke since they both showed high level mastery of taijutsu at their age. Mizuki their teacher was also looking forward since this is going to actually decide who's number one in their class in terms of taijutsu. Rei on the other hand was also anticipating this fight since he is going to fight a genius of the uchiha clan.

Sasuke: I've been looking forward to fight you.

Rei: hey, we're not really going to fight just spar why are you so pumped up.

Sasuke: I want to prove that I'm just as good as my brother!

Rei: Okay, relax let's just do our best it's not like were going to get trophies or snacks if we win.

Rei knows that at this point the uchiha clan is still existing and not massacred but why was sasuke already a loner he doesn't know maybe that was just his personality. Sasuke's brother itachi is actually hailed as one of the best students of the ninja academy only coming after kakashi since kakashi graduated earlier but well the pressure of his brother's shadow forces sasuke to prove to others how good he is since almost everyone was comparing the two.

Sasuke was quite disappointed with Rei's attitude towards their "fight" seeing how relax rei was he is going to go all out so that he takes him seriously. Mizuki signals for them to do the traditional shinobi sparring which the both followed once the signal for the fight to start sasuke rush at him right away connecting three attacks a right punch to the head which rei dodge by ducking and was followed by a left middle kick forcing rei to block it with both hands which left him open in his left side so sasuke followed up with a right head kick. Left with no choice rei dash forward to avoid sasuke's kick which he followed up by grabbing sasuke's collar and hands and throw him down but sasuke didn't let rei throw him when rei was about to release him in his throwing motion sasuke move and flipped himself forward and landing on his feet and his back facing towards rei. Rei was about to exploit sasuke's reckless maneuver of letting his back face him with a front kick but sasuke countered with back kick of his own making the sole of their foot collide forcing them to take steps away from each other.

Sasuke: hehehe, I'm pretty good huh.

Rei: uuhhmmm, come on this is supposed to be a friendly spar testing our skills why are you so serious.

Sasuke: tsk, take me lightly and you'll lose miserably.

Rei: I've never took you lightly though... why are you making me look a villain?

Sasuke: Here I come!

Rei knows how much sasuke wants to prove himself but he now sorts of regrets fighting him because of his selfish reason of staying low key but now he has to take him on seriously if he doesn't want to be hated by the soon to be number one avenger of their village. Sasuke and Rei exchange blows after blows although rei was faster than sasuke by a small margin sasuke compensate for it with his fast reflexes which bothered Rei a lot and he now complains inwardly if this guy's reflexes are already this fast without a sharingan how the hell am I going to fight sharingan users in the future, I guess I'll have to double my efforts in training again. Rei really wanted to end this spar really bad if he could use ninjutsu he is sure to end this quick like appearing at his opponent's back instantly and kicking his butt but with sasuke's competitive nature he might take that as a provocation and mess up his academy life endlessly with sparing and challenges, which he doesn't like so he decided to resort to use his past life experiences to confuse sasuke besides taijutsu only spar so he really can't use ninjutsu. Rei release a barrage of jabs which hit sasuke a few times and made him retreat which pissed him off since he thought that rei was belittling him since his attacks doesn't carry any weight but rei followed up with a sweeping low kick like the strong fist style signature move of initiating its techniques which caught sasuke off guard exposing him. Seeing sasuke expose rei grabbed towards him and initiated a knee strike to finish the fight and rei was holding sasuke horizontally and about to hit his head, sasuke countered with his own kick to hit rei's head. their teacher on the other hand didn't want his students to get hurt on their first day of class stepped in before either could hit each other and forcefully separated them.

Mizuki: I think that's enough!

Sasuke: there's no winner yet!

Rei: oh it's finish already... ok.

Mizuki: We'll declare this as a draw since both of you are on the same level of skills, well if you're not satisfied there'll be more sparring in the future settle it then. I just don't want to have a problem on the first day of class having to send two students in the infirmary ok.
