Every student in the Hidden Leaf Village who's studying at the Ninja Academy are now walking home with a huge grin on their faces, because finally their vacation is about to start.

On the other hand, Rei walked home with a lot of thoughts inside his head, thinking about his best friend's future strength and almost everyone around him that would reach elite jonin level some even capable of fighting against kage levels.

Right now, Rei knows for sure that he is a lot stronger than the students in his class but as time goes by he knows for sure that his advantage would slowly diminish and he could only watch them surpass him if he doesn't expedite his training. Now even his best friend has a possibility of reaching kage class level as a shinobi because of his kekkai genkai which is lava release.

Meanwhile in the Hokage's office Hiruzen was looking at his window looking at the distant skies with a smile on his face. Hiruzen enjoys the view of the hidden leaf village from above since he could see the people of the village who he claims as part of his family and life since a good chunk of his lifetime has been dedicated in developing the village, he takes pride on how far the village has develop.

Aside from his perverted nature and casual spying you can't really find fault in the man, his indecisiveness when he let Orochimaru in past could be counted as his blind hope for his student to right his wrongs and come back like a prodigal son. After basking on his happy thoughts Hiruzen asked his anbu on guard duty to call Miyazato Mokichi, and Miyano Kata using their code names.

Third Hokage(Hiruzen): You both have impressive sons.

Mokichi and Kata nodded in agreement but thought it was presumptuous so they just smiled it off then Kata hurriedly reply.

Kata: We got lucky, Lord Third. -he said with a little smile on his face.

Third Hokage: I'm pretty proud of my children too, don't be too stiff with me now you've been serving our village in the shadows for quite some time now and we've known each other for a long time too.

Mokichi: Yes, Lord Third. Rei my son sure is quite smart but he reached this level because he is crazy for training... It's like he hates missing it. When I was his age I practically push myself to the limit as well but that was because I was motivated as an orphan I had to do something to change my fate. But Rei my son has everything so I'm just proud of him because he has this kind of mental fortitude without anything pushing him like I did.

Kata: I like for him to influence my children too, if they were half as diligent as him I would be able to be more at ease when I think about their futures.

If only the three people knew about what's motivating Rei to train as diligently as he is now they would all understand on why such a child his age can endure such hardships. Since failing to gain strength would mean his death when the time comes.

Third Hokage: Then I'll be straight forward and tell you the reason why I called you in my office. I want Rei and Seiho to become a part of the Anbu.

Hiruzen then further explained that the potential they've shown during Competition in the academy is beyond what their age can do and they could actually graduate with their current level of skills. Rei showed a brilliant mind, using his excellent mastery of the three disciplines of a ninja for his age. If he is given enough time he could be one of the most versatile ninja of the village, Seiho on the other hand is quite brilliant as well adequate in all discipline though a little bit lacking in genjutsu his taijutsu is just a notch lower than Rei but what made him as valuable and as talented as Rei is his Lava Release.

Third Hokage: Kata you didn't even report your child's talent?

Kata: Lord Third, forgive me I just didn't want an information to spread out before it could be confirmed, besides I just want to protect my son from the root.

Third Hokage: What's your answer for my proposal then?

Kata: It would be my honor for Seiho to become an anbu but right now he is too immature and needs to grow in a normal environment. If he becomes qualified in the future I would gladly leave the decision to him.

Third Hokage: Anbu is a dirty work I know... but someone has to deal with the darkness that those in the light can't that's why the root was created but now I'm regretting it because of how much power they hold, how much life they ruined, and how their leader turned out. I'm recruiting them to be protected from them as well besides training as anbu would accelerate their growth. Mokichi what's your answer?

Mokichi: I'd like my child to enjoy a much better childhood than I did but, in the future, when he becomes chunin and if the village needs him to be in the anbu force I would have no objections.

Third Hokage: Are your decisions final?

Mokichi & Kata: Yes, Lord Third.

Mokichi: We can just do more work if we have to, Lord Third.

Third Hokage: I understand where you too are coming from, since I have children as well but I have to think about the village so let's compromise. I'll make them reserve members of the anbu force directly serving under me and the resources and training methods of the anbu squad is free for them to access. They don't need to accomplish any missions yet but once they reached Chunin rank they are to directly report in the anbu.

Kata: About school my lord?

Third Hokage: They can graduate whenever they want since their shinobi skills are already adequate. But their general knowledge skills which consist of sciences and geography should also follow once they do they are free to graduate from the academy.

Kata & Mokichi: Thank you, Lord Hokage.

Third Hokage: Quickly inform the two kids - Hiruzen said with a smile.

Rei's now walking down the streets of the hidden leaf to get home but he suddenly remembered how much his little sister wants to eat some sweets before he went to academy this morning. Dango is the first thing that came into Rei's mind since he never knew what it tastes like even though they are rich their mom Fuyuki actually prevents them from eating sweets too much, the most they had are sweet rice cakes or candies sneaked in by their father or occasionally Rei... Not really occasionally since Rei has this sweet tooth which he is plagued by because of his young body is what he says for an excuse but he just can't really help it.

Rei dashed through the streets eager to find the tea shop where Anko usually buy her dango inside the hidden leaf so he could bring some home for his sister. Meanwhile a group of four people are having a nice conversation but one has that dead fish eye looking bored from their conversation and you can't help ask him to take off his mask so you could converse with him much better.

If Rei could see them he would easily recognize them to be the four jonins in the original time line who took care of naruto's generation along with team guy. Meanwhile Rei accidentally stumbled upon where the four was and went inside to buy some dango.

Asuma: Kakashi how's work recently?

The other three looked at him eager to hear his answer since they've been concern on his state of mind since the death of his best friend Obito followed by killing Rin by his own hand, which lead some people to believe that he'll do anything to finish a mission and giving him the nickname "friend-killer Kakashi".

Kakashi: You know same as usual.

Kurenai looked annoyed by Kakashi's uninterested reply.

Kurenai: tsk, stop with that aloofness and share something for a change.

Kakashi looked at them with his right eye and thought that why did he let himself be dragged into this he could've spent more time alone which was much more fun. But what he usually do is just go to his friend's grave and talked to them with how things have been for the past couple of years.

Kakashi: uuhhmmn, well I'm waiting for Lord Jiraiya's new book.

Guy: tsk, our competition's not over yet and now you are thinking about a book?

Kakashi: It just might increase your power of youth. -Kakashi replied uninterestingly

Guy: What?!

Guy was startled by what Kakashi said to him because youth is what have been driving him till now and hitting his twenties there won't be much youth left for him. Meanwhile before Rei could even think of how many dangos he should buy and how many he should keep hidden from his mom what he saw made his brain short circuit since he is currently watching four people who made huge contribution in the original timeline.

Since he already knew two of them personally in this life he decided to approach and say hi to them, since there are only few chances where you could accidentally meet "rock-stars".

Rei: Big sister, you like dangos too?

Kurenai turn her head to look at the person who was calling her name.

Kurenai: Rei, why are you here?

Asuma: Who's Rei?

Kakashi: right - said lethargically.

Kurenai then quickly explained to the other three how she meets Rei for the first time inside Hidden leaf's library and how he showed her his genjutsu.

Guy: Hahaha, this kid is really something if you could already do that at that time your power of youth is just amazing!

Asuma: Why does it sound like you know this kid as well?

Guy then explained how he meet Rei for the first time which surprised even Kurenai that the child's prowess is not just limited in genjutsu which he showed her.

Rei: Mister Guy was really cool too shouting about the power of youth after destroying my water release!

Rei tried to act like a child to build connection with these four since it would really help in his life as a shinobi coupled by the ultimate weapon given by his mother, which are the great genes of good looks and amber eyes it just might work. Rei would gladly trade the good looks for Hashirama like chakra reserves and looked like a plain guy though.

Asuma burst out laughing when he saw Guy look down feeling the power of his youth being drained away like a black whole by the word of "Mister". Kakashi on the other hand almost showed a smiling eye but then quickly hide by showing the other side of his face which was covered by his head protector. Kurenai looked at Rei's adorable face which just broke out the inner caring big sister figure that's been hiding in her asking Rei to come sit with them. While Asuma just ordered more snacks, drinks, and stopped smoking since there's a child sitting with them.

Asuma, kurenai, and Guy actually planned this meeting with Kakashi to check up on him and show that he still has friends he could rely on that not everything is so dark as he imagines it to be. Since his recent success on the anbu force is giving him a nature so dark and coldness that even his subordinates feels too much even as an anbu.

The three actually tries to meet more often with him specially Guy who eternally challenge him even with the smallest things to give some color on his colorless life since the death of Kakashi's friends has been a huge blow to him and coupled with his master the fourth Hokage and his wife dying that he was supposed to protect but was given a leave when the incident happened further gave him darkness and gloominess.

Kakashi is actually completing his missions cold heartedly and embracing the darkness of anbu willingly more than others, but he is actually a kind hearted caring man which isn't fitted to be in the darkness like what he is doing right now so his friends concern is naturally growing and decided on these occasional meetings.

The atmosphere turned brighter with the presence of Rei since even Kakashi couldn't possibly show an extreme level of aloofness, laziness, and darkness in front of a child so he was forced into joining the conversation with a little more interest than usual.

Kurenai on the other hand started asking Rei about his recent accomplishment in genjutsu, which Rei bragged about on his new technique "Demonic illusion: death from multiple angles " like a child that he used to win the competition in his school. But with his recent victory Rei explained that his best friend might be able to surpass him in no time which he would be happy and proud of, but he worries that his best friend would only leave him in the dust since he has a kekkai genkai.

Rei: What should I do, Big sisters and Big brothers?

Kurenai: Well I'm a genjutsu specialist... I could only tell you that genjutsu can sure deal with a lot of things but having a good level of taijutsu and ninjutsu to back it up is the right way and what you are doing now working on the everything is quite a feat.

As a master of ninjutsu and one of the few people who could use five basic nature transformation Kakashi replied with a serious tone.

Kakashi: You should just learn a new element if you're worried about your chakra reserves like you I have average chakra capacity, but if you work on your chakra control you can dish out ninjutsu without a care if you don't waste even a drop of chakra from using them.

Not wanting to lose out guy sat straight and shouted.

Guy: Train with the power of youth and you'll be able to do the impossible!

Asuma: It's true that training would take you to distant places but Rei even though you are really good for your age at one point you should have a specialty.

The dango session ended with everyone feeling like they accomplished something with helping Rei with his problems at the same time the other three felt that Kakashi is somehow influenced by the brightness of Rei's sudden appearance and hopes to expose Kakashi to kids more in the future. Asuma concerned about Rei's promise to his younger sister ordered a few more boxes of dangos so Rei could take it home for his sister.

While walking home Rei was pondering about all the advice he gained today since it was such a rare occurrence that he'll bump into four ninjas who has different specialties and skill levels far above the rest so he asked them a lot of questions.

Rei decided that he should continue on training with his current pace but he should work on more with his talent since it would be a waste if it remained stagnant as it is and learning a new element is not such a bad idea since right now that he hasn't work on his projects and his water affinity is not that strong compared to others.

The only reason he is ahead of others is because of his master which trained him in taijutsu far above the rest. Once Rei arrived home he sneakily went in and gave his sister some dangos but later on was found out by their mother since his sister couldn't possibly keep a secret with her young mind which lead to their dango being rationed and not allowed to be eaten in one sitting. Everything was a roller coaster though when Mokichi arrived.

Mokichi: I have good news for you Rei!

Rei: I have one as well!

Mokichi: I know about how you won the competition in your class.

Fuyuki: Really, we should celebrate then... Is that the reason why you brought home so much dango?

Rei: un, I bumped into big sister Kurenai today along with other big brothers.

Mokichi: that's nice but Rei you are being recruited in the anbu.

Rei looked pale at the sudden revelation of being in the anbu squad, sure they look cool with their outfits and mask being mysterious and protecting the hidden leaf village from the shadows but the missions they do is not something he would like to do on a daily basis. Rei's rotten luck might just kick in with every mission making them extremely hard to accomplish and even with the training that would be provided because of his early recruitment he might just not be able to handle the future troubles every mission could bring.

Mokichi: What's wrong you looked like you didn't like the idea? -confused by his son's reaction.

Fuyuki: Is that where you work? I know they make you do dangerous missions why did you allow him to be recruited? -asked with a stern face.

Mokichi: It's not that bad.

Fuyuki: Absolutely not.

Rei's actually cheering his mother at this time with go mom, go mom, defeat dad with your ultimate power! I don't want to be an anbu it's too dangerous! but he could only do this inside his head.

Mokichi: Let me finish first!

Fuyuki: You have one minute.

Mokichi: The third Hokage recruited him and Seiho because of the might they shown in their competition even the root would probably already know about the two of them. Kata and I objected as well you know we didn't want them both to spend their childhood in that environment either.

Mokichi further explain their conversation with the Hokage then later on pretty much made Fuyuki agreed on it half-heartedly since she can't do anything either with the Hokage's command everything is already set in motion she just hopes that her son becomes ready by the time he starts doing missions as an anbu.

Rei on the other hand dreaded the fact that he has to take on such a dangerous role in this life he just wanted to be average with enough strength to protect himself and the people he loves. But when he heard the free access of resources he thought that it's not bad I'll just make myself incredibly strong and delay my promotions until I reach top level in strength in the rank I'll be promoted in.
