6 First Encounter

Rei's anticipated meet up with his Godfather and child was postponed for a little bit more than a week now. He was quite disappointed given that he doesn't have a friend with the kind of background he has yet and no one to actually practice with but it didn't change his attitude towards training since he knows for sure what kind of situation he might face in the future. Rei's been training his ninjutsu, chakra control, and other set of skills. Surprisingly Rei is now able to perform his ninjutsu in a second.

Rie: I still have a long way to go I must be able to instantly cast basic ninjutsu that has the potential to save my life. I definitely have to focus on body replacement technique and body flicker. -Rei whispered in his mind.

Mokichi: Rei, I forgot to tell you we're going to go on a little trip this week for sure.

Rei: Where are we going dad?

Mokichi: We are going to your uncle's place at a nearby village. It's a two day trip from the hidden leaf, trust me it's going to be fun you're going to meet your uncle and cousin as well.

Rei: Uuhhmmm, ok. But I thought we were going to meet up with Uncle Kato and his family?

Mokichi: We are still going there but it will have to wait since your Uncle is caught up on business, but we'll sure to drop by once we get back.

Fuyuki: Right, Rei you'll surely enjoy that place since your uncle is also a businessman and owns an inn And few retail store we'll bring along Shizuku as well. I'm sure your uncle will be really pleased to see you two.

Rei: Uncle's never been here?

Fuyuki: He's been here before Rei, but that was before you were born. After your father and I got married your uncle became quite busy with what your grandfather left us behind since I'm not able to help him manage our families estate, and I focus all my energy here in hidden leaf village and our clothing store while raising you two. Since there was only two of us sibling left in the family, when I got married he had to manage everything on his own.

Fuyuki looked a bit guilty when she said the part where she left his brother to get married

leaving his brother to manage their family estate on his own.

Rei: Uhm, so we're rich mom. Why am I training to be a shinobi then, can't I just become a businessman as well and hire a shinobi to protect me?

Fuyuki: Stop that Rei you're making your father uneasy. -fuyuki laughed at Rei and her husband lightly.

Fuyuki: Of course that's an option as well but that will have to wait in the future.

Rei: I was just joking mom, I really like to become a shinobi!

Rei was thinking that becoming a businessman is a better option for him if he relies on his past experience as a salary man, and sales man from his previous life at the same time he thought that if I don't become a shinobi in this world there would be less chances that he's going to die, but having the information of what's going to happen I would feel guilty if I'm not able to do something about it.

Rei was also thinking if i have enough money would I be able to form my own army or donate to hidden leaf so they could buy and acquire better weapons and nurture more shinobi. But then he realize in the original story weapons did Have an an effect on wars and power of a country but jonins of each hidden village could turn the tides with no problem. but the plan of investing to nurture more shinobis definitely crossed his mind.

Rei: uhhhmmm... investing on that would probably help but then there's a limited amount of time and the start of the main story that revolves around naruto would soon start. I definitely don't wanna be some kind of danzo. -passing thoughts in his mind.

Both Mokichi and Fuyuki was quite bewildered by their mischievious son, true enough that he doesn't make trouble. But Rei's witty antics and comments from time to time in their house brings laughter to his parents. Rei's father Mokichi was definitely troubled when he heard Rei ask about why he was training to become a shinobi then felt relieved when he heard him say he likes to become a shinobi.

The husband and wife pair decided to travel with a merchant caravan that would pass nearby the village where Hatano Keiji lives, and where Fuyuki originaly came from. The village name is called Yashina village where people live by farming, fishing, and clothe making. Yashina's village produce are dried fish, wheat, rice, candies made from sugar cane, and cloth made from different plant fibers.

A day before travelling out of hidden leaf the family of four decided to drop by their Clothing store to do a last run through with their employed manager Michizoe Maeko. Maeko has black hair, brown eyes, slighty tan, and is petite in build paired with a pleasing face and personality some of the male customers drops by just to chat with her. Maeko's been working for Fuyuki for five years now and is loyal and trustworthy so fuyuki has no worries leaving the shop to her.

Maeko: Madam Fuyuki, are you here to check on our store?

Fuyuki: Maeko, stop calling me madam you know you're like a sister to me. I brought my husband, And my kids along as well.

Maeko then rushes over to Rei and Shizuku she's always been fond of the two children that she both saw as babies and now both growing up, she hurriedly took Shizuku from Mokichi's embrace, and patted rei's head dottingly.

Maeko: It's been just a few months since you dropped by here rei but you've grown up quite a bit Already and you shizuku is just so adorable don't grow up too quickly ok.

both kids just look at Maeko while Rei just smiled. Shizuku was giggling because maeko keeps on playing with her.

Fuyuki: Is everything ok Maeko, the four of us will be gone for at least two weeks.

Maeko: Yes, sister Fuyuki everything is running smoothly and will be just fine.

Fuyuki: alright I'll leave you in charge. I'll get you some gifts over there as well.

The next morning came Fuyuki and the children are sitting in a carriage being driven by their father behind them is cart pulled by a horse driven by a hired mercenary with two more walking beside it and one behind. In the world of naruto it's not weird to see soldiers or armed men that are not shinobi. Ninjas are actually a minority because they are only trained mostly on hidden villages the reason why the daimyo pays respect and holds control over hidden villages is that hidden villages makes money through missions and what they need is gain through trade with other villages. The

daimyo rules a country and has it's own military force from what I could infer and shinobis are their equivalent of special forces or outsourced military contracted force, hidden villages are only part of a daimyo.

As their carriage travel through Hidden leaf to unite with the merchant group they will travel with. Rei was having random thoughts first thing that came to his mind was It's been a while since the last time I eat western food am really now craving for some pasta, burger, or pizza -rei whispered in his head.

Half a day of travelling gone by and now everyone's moving to set up camp meanwhile Mokichi patrolled around the camp and observe the people he is travelling with, He didn't have time to do it early this morning because his attention was on driving the carriage that took him a few minutes getting used to because as a shinobi you just run through distances no matter how far it is, Aside from that Mokichi has been keeping his guard down around his family too much that he slacked

off and forgot the vigilance he always wear as an anbu on mission. Now he remembers how vigilant one must be travelling outside the village. Mokichi saw two hired chunin from the hidden leaf village and a few mercenaries carrying weapons.

Mokichi: hhmmnn pretty good security for a merchant caravan chunin's usually perform C-class and B-class mission on a team to have two on this caravan alone plus a group of mercenary guards is quite the security. -mokichi said inwardly

Mokichi: Rei, come here. I'll teach you something interesting.

Rei then hurriedly walk towards his dad wondering what kind of interesting thing he'd learn this time.

Mokichi: I'll teach you how camping skills and how to erase your track and scent.

Rei: Uuhhmm, ok. But dad why now?

Mokichi: There's no better time rei, besides learning how not to leave tracks would take you some time to learn so it's better just to teach now how to erase them.

Rei then listens since he is sure that he has to learn them, and an important skill of a shinobi is not to leave tracks

Mokichi: There are four skills you learn for travelling they maybe more but in my opinion these four are what you need most Shoukyo Torakku - tracks erasure jutsu, Hakka Gu no Jutsu - small fire, fire start technique, Haiki Butsu Sanpu - disperse body waste underground, and Shoukyo no Nioi - uses wind to scatter scent making it difficult to be track through scent. Now look closely on how I execute it.

Rei: Yes, dad.

Mokichi then perform the techniques in the said order, his son rei watch closely as he performs them. Rei ask questions on how to perform it the right way taking them about ten - twenty minutes of time for rei to be able to perform it on his own. The father and son duo walk back to their camp waiting for dinner to be served.

Mokichi was now able to recognize the two young chunin that's been hired by the merchant caravan, it turns out that they are Hagane Kotetsu, and Kamizuki Izumo his captain thought of recruiting this two because of their good combination attacks. But later on was warned off by the third hokage not to, saying that the two of them has a different path than anbu's they'll be better in the lime light, and Given their personalities as well they won't blend in well in the anbu.

Rei followed the eyes of his father thinking that sometimes his father do crazy prank on him being an anbu that he was he can do it unnoticed. Rei then look at the two guys with protector head of konoha. Those guys were present on the original series during the chunin exam though they look younger now that's definitely them, ah they also became The fifth hokage's assistant later on. oh those kunai blade are pretty cool Rei whispered to himself.

The family of four are now finally trying to have a rest inside the carriage but mokichi can't fit anymore so he decided to stay outside and stay half-awake. Well being half-awake actually was for the best since their caravan was about to be ambushed. Mokichi then signaled their hired mercenary captain masami to come towards him. Mercenary Captain Kurata Masami is s well built man on his thirties rugged looking, brown skinned, with a black wavy long hair tied on the back, wearing leather armor with bracers, and grey long pants.

Mokichi: Hey, Captain Masami I think you should wake your group they're coming

Masami: What do you mean sir?

Mokichi: Bandits are coming.

Mokichi then signaled to Kotetsu and Izumo to get ready, the two were confused but then realized it was a shinobi's signal they then understood that maybe Mokichi was a shinobi off duty the two then signaled to everyone in the caravan to get ready. Mokichi then turn to knock on their carriage waking the three and opening the door. Mokichi then lean in to talk to them.

Mokichi: Hey, It's gonna get pretty rowdy outside don't be scared everything will be alright, I'm here.

Fuyuki: what's going to happen?

Mokichi: A bandit group is attacking but it would be over real quick.

Fuyuki: Promise me you'll be ok.

Mokichi: I promise. -mokichi leans in and gave his wife a kiss to her forehead.

Rei: So dad, what am supposed to do?

Mokichi: Hahaha, your mom will beat the crap out of me if I let you fight but it would also be a great experience for you.

Fuyuki: What are you saying right now?! he's four years old Mokichi!

Mokichi: See? told you so little guy stay here.

Rei: Can't I watch?

Fuyuki: Absolutely not.

Then a Huge Shuriken flew over their carriage Mokichi tried to knock it over but only having his modified kunai won't be sufficient so he hurriedly use a ninjutsu to transform it.

The kunai transforms into a Kunai Blade, Mokichi then hurriedly redirect the incoming Oversize shuriken with a slash

instead of hitting the carriage itself the Oversize shuriken hit it's side where nobody was hurt but the carriage fell over. Rei help his mom and sister get off the carriage, it pissed him off because now shizuku was surprise and crying herself out, while mokichi looks over if there's gonna be another attack with his eyes having an intent to kill. the four mercenaries then hurried over to protect their client. meanwhile Rei's looking over drawing his kunai out ready to defend himself.
