5 Finally Ninjutsu
Rei stands against his father give it all his got to get a clean hit this time, but sadly he lost again for the nth time. Rei already lost count how much his father schooled him in tactics and techniques since they started training five months ago. But improvements could be seen the very proof of that is how much he could last against his father this time as well.
Mokichi: Rei, let's start learning ninjutsu today plain old close combat, and flying shurikens doesn't really count for an every day exercise for me. I might really get rusty from this down time.
Mokichi laughed at Rei after telling his piece, which irritated Rei a little bit because how was he supposed to make an elite anbu sweat as four-year-old child. Regardless Rei still looks forward on how ninjutsu would turn out for him, specially since he's got the chakra control talent given to him when he reincarnated.
Rei: Dad, so what do we do, can we start learning jutsu now.
Mokichi: Of course you will, but let's talk about hand-seals first.
Mokichi started giving a lecture about hand-seals, he blabber on how hand-seals changes the nature of chakra to perform ninjutsu and genjutsu. The old man then further explain that ninjutsu and genjutsu consist of series of hand-seal to perform along with the right amount of chakra being supplied. He then said some shinobi consume more chakra when performing their technique due their lack of chakra control to supply just the right amount those are the less skilled ones. On the other hand there are skilled and talented shinobis who could do the same kind of ninjutsu with less hand-seals with same amount of chakra consumed, some even go further just using one hand or a single hand-seal. Mokichi then told him of some of his real life experience.
Mokichi: Do you understand now Rei, on how important seals are most of the time you can even identify through this on what kind of jutsu your oponent would use, or how skilled they are.
Rei nods towards his dad signaling he understood the context.
Mokichi: Ok, now before anything else I'm going to teach you how to concentrate and manipulate your chakra. In our village there's the tradiational method of leaf exercise where you focus your chakra towards the leaf as a focal point.
Rei watch as his father demonstrate the leaf exercise his, father was able to manipulate the leaf and made it dance like those it was being carried in the wind. Rei thought since I have the talent for chakra control maybe I'll be able to surprise my father with it.
Mokichi told his son, to start doing the leaf exercise because concentration and chakra control is the bread and butter of ninjutsu and genjutsu. Rei then started doing his leaf exercise to his surprise even with the talent given to him it was not that easy, but given that it was his first time he stick with it telling himself I'll be able to figure out the trick to this in no time. The first day of training in leaf exercise ended up far off from Rei's expectation, because he should have had an easy time with this, but later on that day when he figure out the trick he was able to perform it decently.
The second day surprise his father just right after their sparring Rei started doing the leaf exercise. Mokichi saw the vast improvement Rei gain from just a day of practice of chakra control Rei now's able to do it with ease. He then realize that maybe Rei is much more talented than him in chakra control given that he could do surgical blade of medical ninjutsu practitioners to coat his blade or hand in combat what level could his son possibly reach.
Rei now realize that he was given talent but not an instantaneous ability so he has to train it along with his other skills but the improvements widely surpassed the progress of his mastery in taijutsu, melee weapon arts, and range weapon arts. Rei now believes given enough time with his chakra control alone he'll be able to to create a fighting style just for himself.
A morning came and you could already see Rei practicing all the skills he learned from his father. Mokichi walked in and started observing his son and thinking to himself he is definitely talented but in this world there are those monsters who could perform C- class ninjustu at the age of five. Mokichi learned that the hard way since he witnessed the rise of the deceased fourth Hokage, the rising son of hatake sakumo who is hatake kakashi. But with his son's fortitude and training attitude he is prepared to teach him everything to one day become one of the shinobis who will protect the hidden leaf and it's people.
Mokichi: Rei, Let's start practicing hand-seals then later I will show you a jutsu to practice on if you get it I'll teach you all the basic E - class ninjutsu that all shinobis should learn.
Rei: Dad, wait just a little bit I'll finish my training.
Mokichi looks a little bit surprise that his son didn't rush over to learn ninjustu and chosing to finish his training first before coming over. A little bit surprise but it gave Mokichi an assurance that his son would grow up to be a competent shinobi. Rei really wanted to rush to his father to start learning ninjutsu but he has enough self-control not to do it and finish his training first he believe that piling up this small improvements would be his foundation as a shinobi in the future.
A few minutes later.
Mokichi: There are twelve basic hand-seals they are Rat, Ox, Tiger, Hare, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Ram,
Monkey, Bird, Dog, and boar.
Mokichi then proceed to demonstrate the hand-seals at the same order he mentioned them.
Mokichi: How is it rei, did you remember everything?
Rei: uuhhmmnnn, nope.
Mokichi: HAHAHA, I like it that you're honest.
The Father and Son duo then proceed on training with hand-seal after an hour Rei was finally able to form all the hand-seals on his own. Don't underestimate the hand-seals of the Naruto world they might look like easy as you watch it but actually doing it the right way and transitioning from one seal to another is difficult on the first try. Rei was only able to perform the transitioning of seals from one to another at same order it was taught to him by his father. His father was grinning on the side seeing his son perform it with difficulty looking at Rei performing one to two hand-seal a second.
Mokichi: You have to improve Rei, if you perform hand-seals at that speed in the future you'll be dead right away.
Rei: At what speed would be acceptable for me dad to become as strong as you?
Mokichi: Tell you the truth Rei it would take you some time to reach my level, because I'm actually at the jonin level. jonin's perform about five to six hand-seal a second with no problem some even better, Me I can do about eight per second.
Rei: Then you must be one of the strong jonins dad, why is it that you are not well known unlike the other ones.
Mokichi: That, you have to kept this a secret rei you can't tell anyone outside of our family.
Rei: Why the secrecy dad could it be you are just messing with me.
Mokichi: Quit being cheeky kid, well I'm actually part of the anbu squad under the direct orders of the third Hokage himself so we can't really become famous sure are anbu mask are recognized though but I can't tell you what I wear.
Rei: Ok, dad I promise. So are we going to start learning ninjutsu now?
Mokichi: I'll teach you four ninjutsu that you should be able to perform instantly Body replacement technique, Body flicker technique which is D-rank, Clone technique, and transformation technique.
Rei: Ok dad, I'm excited about.
Mokichi: I'll teach you how to perform them instantly with single hand hand-seal as well but you have to train really hard this technique might be basic but they can be applied in various situation if you have a creative mind. I'll only teach you instantly using them after mastering them though.
Mokichi and rei then proceed to learn the basic 3 E - class ninjutstu body replacement, clone technique, transformation technique. The sole D - class ninjutsu rei was learning at the moment was the body flicker technique this technique is widely use even by the jonin of each villages and daimyo because it gives the user instantaneous movement speed one hard example was the fourth hokage aside from his signature skill flying thunder god, witnesses said that his body flicker alone was fast enough that only few shinobi could keep up with him hence the alias of yellow flash. Rei then trained hard to be able to perform this ninjutsu decently while training his taijutsu, and bukijutsuwhich is the art of weapon use melee or range.
