Fiona addressed Giselle in a very gentle and soft manner. She was determined to maintain a sense of calmness and serenity for her friend.
"That's much better. Let's not shed any more tears, alright?"
Without speaking, Giselle sniffled, and gave a small nod of her head in acknowledgment.
Gently, Fiona grabbed a washcloth from the basin by the bed and wiped Lady Alexsander's face of tears.
Unsure of all that had occurred and how much Giselle remembered, Fiona asked what she could recall.
"Can you tell me what has happened?"
Giselle had a confused expression as she slowly shook her head and commented.
"I only remember small pieces of what happened."
Upon seeing her confused state, the Duchess would wait to ask anything further until she had eaten and regained some of her strength. She felt it best not to push Giselle and upset her.
