2 Year One (2)

We continued to talk throughout the duration of the train ride. I must say that it was quite enjoyable listening to the pranks that the twins have pulled on each other and other people throughout their years. We even ventured off of pranks for a bit to actually get to know one another. It was really interesting.

"What's it like in America?". "Where do you live?". "Do you have any siblings?". "Why come to Hogwarts when you have a school in America?". And the questions just kept coming.

"Can you guys give me enough time to answer your questions instead of continuing to ask them?" "Fine," they both replied in unison. "To answer your first question, America is a wonderful place. In the winter it can be very cold, depending on where you are, but in the summer it can feel like the sun is trying to murder you. Question two, I live in sweet home Chicago. Question three, yes, I have four brothers and a sister. My family collectively agreed to send me to Hogwarts because my grandparents came here, and the school also came highly recommended."

They seemed impressed, somewhat. "Okay, my turn to ask the questions now. How many siblings do you guys have, since you seemed to excited to ask me that question earlier?" They just grin at me in response as they give each other this look. "Well, let's see. There's Bill, Charlie, Percy, the two of us, Ron, and our little sister Ginny."

I scoffed a bit before pushing a bit more. "Whoa. Whoa. Whoa, wait. So you guys are telling me that your mom has six sons and a daughter?" "Yes, that is exactly what we are saying." "Dang. I feel kinda bad for her. Okay, next question. Where do you guys live?"

"Before we tell you that do you mind telling us why you are mumbling?" asked George. I just realized that I was still humming along to the songs that came on in the one earbud I left in my ear. That must have looked weird. "I didn't even notice. Sorry, I was listening to music and I was mumbling the lyrics without thinking."

Both boys gave me this look. "How are you listening to music right now? I don't hear anything," Fred told me, confused as he looked around the room as if to magically see where I was listening to music.

I took out my walk-man, my earbuds still attached as the gears turned to continue pumping music into my ear. "It's a no-maj invention. The tape that you see turning between the two circles has the music on them, and the two circles read the music to play. You can record songs or you can buy a tape that was already recorded," I explained to them, watching their faces light up as they looked at the foreign device in my hand.

"Dad is gonna love you," George mumbled. "Our Dad works in the muggle department at the Ministry. He would love to see this," Fred explained to me. "That's cool. Maybe someday I can show him," I told him with a shrug of my shoulders as I looked out the window, only to see an absolutely magnificent sight.

"Oh my god," I said under my breath, captivated by the castle just outside my window. "Welcome to Hogwarts!" the twins told me with smiles as we pulled closer to the station.

"Well, we best be going," Fred told me and he and George stood to leave. "Wait, why?" I asked, wondering what I did wrong. I just met them, I didn't want them to leave yet. "We have to go find our brother Ron to taunt him about the sorting hat," George replied with a grin. These boys seemed to always be happy.

"Which reminds me, George and I are Gryffindors, what house are you in?" Fred asked me. "I don't have a house yet. I'm a first year," I told them, earning shocked looks in return. "I could have sworn that you were in our year," one of them told me as the twins walked around the car a bit, completely confusing me on who was who. "Nope. I guess I'm going to be sorted with you brother Ron." "We'll see you then!". They reassured me as they left, leaving me to put on my robes and get ready.
