1 Another day in the wild

*DING* *DING* *DING* *DING*

A melodious chime rang out in the area, people started to wake from the loud sounds of bell chimes coming from the church. As everyone had started to move about, beginning their day. Not too far away in a small inn.

"What do you mean by that? I say it costs 1 bronze coin" a man with a scar-filled face unsheathed his sword at the innkeeper threatening to stab him.

"I- I- It 10 bronze-s-s we agreed yesterd-a-aay" replied the shaking innkeeper with his hands held high.

"What?" the man points his sword right at his neck.

"Y-yes yes its 1 bronze thank you for staying sir" the innkeeper bowed shaking

"Now I don't feel like paying, would that be a problem?" the man kicked the innkeeper while smirking

"NO NO, no problem" the innkeeper replied waving his hands

"Good" the man turned around to walk away

Watching the show from the stairs was a young man with a slim yet muscular figure, he stood there tall, with black hair and green stripes he wore a calm face having a red T-shirt with a dragon's design, and a black pair of pants, a katana held by a strap by his side and a big long bag by this other he resembled the figure of a strong heroic man.

Evan stared at the situation he saw when he had just left his room, he had woken up a tad bit earlier hearing the commotion coming from downstairs. As if used to this situation, Evan calmly walked to the innkeeper dropping 10 bronze coins on the table and left.

Outside, was a somewhat medieval town full of people walking by, whether adventurers or normal townsfolks, filled with several stoned houses and a church at the center having a gigantic golden bell. The town looked beautiful with the sun rising and a forest surrounding it, giving the place a wild but civilized vibe.

Walking out, Evan went past the buildings heading to a forest outside the town.

"Hmmm, today I'll kill at least two E-rank forest wolves," Evan thought to himself as he entered the wild forest overgrown with trees and bushes covering the surrounding area.

As Evan headed into the forest he held his katana with both hands ready to attack as he watched vigilantly around the area.

Walking slowly and silently, Evans heard a sound just after entering the forest. He looked to his west as he slowly crept and moved in that direction. After walking for a few minutes and hearing the sound louder he went under a bush and looked from inside it. He saw two huge vepera snakes attacking seven wild boars eating them in one attack.

A vepera snake is a snake 7m high and larger than a chair in thickness, A top D-rank beast.

Seeing this Evan immediately held his breath as he slowly crept away, being extremely careful not to step on anything as he slowly made his escape. As the snakes were too busy gulping their meal than paying attention to their surroundings, he had successfully escaped.

After successfully escaping Evan thought to himself "Thank god, I checked while hiding inside a bush. Damn, literally anything here can kill me if I have bad luck. When am I ever gonna reach C-rank and laze around" he sighed

It was every adventurer's dream to at least reach C-rank getting a somewhat high position and live a comfortable life. The C-rank had it all, Money and power.

He started moving again, holding his katana he slowly made his way about the outskirts of the forest. He saw a lot of F-rank boars moving about but he didn't care since they wouldn't sell for much.

Finally, after searching for about 40mins he found a pack of forest wolves around 12 in number.

"NICE" Evan thought to himself as he happily looked at his new money-making materials.

Forest wolves usually tend to stay alone, making them rare and worth a lot. Packs of forest wolves are extremely rare. Which is why Evan is happy.

"Okay, there are 12 and one of me. I could wait and kill them off one by one but lazy. So I only have one option, Suprise attack it is" Evan thought to himself as he held his breath.

With the small mana he could control, he used it to strengthen his body as much as he could, as he held his katana building up force. He then thought to himself

"This is so risky, but damn where am I gonna find a pack of wolves like these? I could get enough money for some mana stones. I can just run after if I fail. Hopefully, I can outrun them"

With a greed-filled mind, Evan prepared to attack a pack of wolves at the same level as him.
