10 Chapter 10: Mana pt. 1

Elis opens her eyes. The moment she woke up, she felt the cold air on her arm. 'Cold' she thought. She looks at her arm that was supposed to have a deep open wound but all she saw is a scarless arm. Her wrists that were full of self-harmed scars were gone and her fresh knife wound was nowhere to be found. It was like someone placed her arm with another arm. When she looks at her other arm it was the same.

She stops for a minute when she realizes something. She got up and hurried to the bathroom where Asmodeus was taking a bath. Elis opens the door and Asmodeus greeted her completely naked while in the shower. She didn't look at him and hurried to the mirror that was hung on top of the sink.

She moves her bangs away and the old scar that was the result of her sister banging her head against a mirror was gone. Elis lifts her shirt and even the X mark on her stomach was gone. She looks at Asmodeus who used his magic to dry and dress himself.

"Elis" Asmodeus calls out to her.

"Why?" Elis said in a faint voice. She wanted to know why Asmodeus did such a thing without telling her.

"I…." Asmodeus didn't know what to say. Elis looked at him, confusion in her eyes.

Asmodeus reaches Elis' cheeks. He gently touches her cheeks with his hands, something that he always wanted to do. He stares at her confused eyes.

"I didn't want you to be reminded of your past whenever you look at your scars," he said with sincerity in his eyes.

"But…" Elis stopped for a moment before she continued.

"Am I…worthy…of being happy?" she looked up to him and a pained expression was painted on her doll-like face. An expression that Asmodeus didn't want her to have.

"Is it ok for me to live? Is it ok for me to live freely?" Tears started to fall from her raven eyes. His crystal blue eyes narrowed as he felt frustrated seeing her tears.

"Even until now I worry…that this happiness will come to an end someday" her eyes stained with tears as she explains her thoughts and worries.

"What if you don't need me anymore?"

"What if I don't amuse you anymore?"

"What if you abandon me?"

"Such thoughts never leave my mind as well as the constant reminder to kill myself" she uses the back of her hands to wipe her tears as she started to hiccup.

"Elis," Asmodeus says in a worried tone.

"I didn't mean to make you feel like that. I won't abandon you. Coming from a demon's mouth, that sounds like bullshit doesn't it?" he says and chuckled at himself with mockery.

"You may not believe me but, I don't go back from my own words. I decided that I'll keep you so I will. Why did I kidnap you if I would just abandon you later on? I won't let you go. Ever. And if a time comes when you decided to leave me, well, I'm sorry but I won't let you. You're mine and I won't let you escape" Asmodeus said in a firm and sharp voice as he looks straight into Elis's teary eyes.

Elis was about to wipe her tears when all of sudden her body felt heavy and everything went black. Asmodeus panicked when Elis suddenly fainted. He picked her up and placed her on the bed. He gently removed a piece of hair that was covering her face.

"What happened to you?" he whispered to himself as he stares upon Elis's unconscious face.

Asmodeus got up while his eyes are still locked on Elis's face. He quickly uses his powers and teleported to the vampire priest, Oliver.

Oliver's eyes widened when Asmodeus suddenly teleported in front of him while he was in the shower.

"What the-!" He quickly covers his body and then glares at the worried demon.

"What do you want?!" Oliver shouted, completely unaware of what happened.

"It's Elis. She fainted and I-I don't know why" Asmodeus said in a stuttering voice.

"What? Just give me time to put on clothes. Call Alysse, she'll know what to do" Oliver said while quickly putting on his clothes.

"No need, I'm already here," A voice said. When they turned around, Alysse, who had a serious face was standing by the door of the bathroom.

"Tell me, what happened?" she asked.
