Chapter 6: Hades the Charmander

"Well hello there! You must be the trainer that Shauna told me about that has a Froakie!" Prof. Sycamore said.

"Yes, that's me. I heard that you had some Kantonian starters here, and I would like to have one, please," I said.

"Right to the point I see! If you want one, then you'll battle me first!" he said.

    "How about a 3-on-1?" I asked.

"Confident, are you? Fine then! Let's do this!"

--------------PROFESSOR BATTLE BEGIN---------------

"Come on out, Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle!" he said.

"Alright Fronja, we got this. Come out and use Bubble on the three of them," I said, flashing my eye blue.

"Counter with Vine Whip, Ember, and Water Gun!" Prof. Sycamore said.

Fronja's Bubble was sent at the three Kantonian pokemon, but the combo of their moves was too much for it and the Bubble was destroyed and the combo kept coming.

"Dodge and use your Frubble to stick them to the ground," I said, keeping my cool.

Fronja jumped in the air and dodged the attack. He sent Frubble at the three and stuck them to the ground.

"Now, run around them at extreme speeds and use Water Pulse at random intervals," I said, a strategy forming in my mind.

And just like that, Fronja had learned Double Team and surrounded the three other pokemon by himself. His Water Pulses hit at random points on the others. Charmander was the first to go down.

"Instead of Water Pulse, begin dashing through them and using Power-Up Punch on them," I said.

Fronja was dashing through so fast, even I couldn't see it happening. Squirtle was next to go.

"Continue speeding around Bulbasaur, but stop Power-Up Punching it," I said.

Suddenly, the blur that was Fronja began to glow. Then I realized that he was evolving! Fronja had finally become a Frogadier. Now he'd be able to beat this Bulbasaur with ease.

"Jump up and kick it from above," I said.

"Counter with Vine Whip!" Prof. Sycamore said.

Fronja jumped out of his dash, and it was clear that he was a Frogadier. He came down on the Bulbasaur, about to kick it, but the Bulbasaur used its Vines to grab Fronja's leg and threw him across the room. Fronja got up from his place across the room and ran straight for Bulbasaur.

"Now, attack with Power-Up Punch and take it out!" I yelled.

By that time, Fronja was already less than 2 feet away from Bulasaur, and since he had already used Power-Up Punch multiple times, his Attack stat was increased greatly. He hit the Bulbasaur with such power that it sent it flying into the wall, knocking him out and ending the battle.

---------------PROFESSOR BATTLE END--------------

"Wow! Your Frogadier is very powerful!" Prof. Sycamore said.

"It must be our bond or something," I said.

"Well, I'll tell you what. You can have the starter of your choice. Just because you beat me," he said.

"Alright then! I choose Charmander," I said.

"Here you go then," he said as he gave me Charmander's pokeball.

"It was nice meeting you, Professor!" I said, leaving.

He said something else, but I was already in the elevator, so I couldn't hear him. I left the building, and went to the Pokemon Center. I brought out Litleo and Charmander so that I could talk to them before Litleo would be deposited.

"Hey guys. Litleo, it's been a fun ride with you. I may not have used you much, but you did exactly what you were supposed to, even though you had just been caught. And for that, I'm proud. So, with the highest of honors that I am allowed to give, I put you to rest in a PC Box. Charmander will carry on in your stead, so don't worry about that. Have a good time in there, and I'll definitely send some Pokemon to play with you. Bye, Litleo," I said.

And with that, I deposited him into the PC.

"And for you, Charmander, would you be okay with the nickname 'Hades'?" I asked.

"Char!" he said.

"Alright then. Let's check your stats real quick," I said.

I checked my watch and looked at his stats which were:

Level-10

Hp-69

Atk-79

Def-71

Sp.Atk-98

Sp.Def-78

Spd-99

Abilities-Blaze(Unlocked), Solar Power(Locked)

Moves-Growl, Scratch, Ember, Smokescreen

So, good stats, and while I was at it, I checked Fronja's stats as well:

Level-16

    Hp-88

    Atk-98

    Def-78

    Sp.Atk-108

    Sp.Def-86

    Spd-119

    Abilities-Torrent(Unlocked), Protean(Locked)

Moves-Pound, Growl, Bubble, Power-Up Punch, Quick Attack, Lick, Water Pulse, Double Team

Still amazing stats. Once my pokemon were healed, I went straight to the Route 5 gate, since I wouldn't be able to face Clemont yet. I headed out to Route 5, and realized that there were grind rails there. Perfect. I went around and beat the trainers that were there, not that they were any trouble for my pokemon, but I decided to stop for a couple of hours to take care of my pokemon. I let them out and they looked confused as they didn't see any other pokemon to fight.

"Alright guys, time for our first official training session," I said.

The first thing I did was take Sage to a tree to have him practice using Mach Punch.

[A.N. Yes, I know that Pansage can't learn Mach Punch, or any fighting-type move by level up, for that matter. But this is my novel. He's a special guy with special pokemon. It's only logical that something like this would happen.]

I showed him how to focus his energy into his fist and then punch his opponent. I left him to keep trying, so I moved on to Hades. I showed him how to focus his fire into his fist and punch, which would be Fire Punch. He tried it, and did it well.

"Keep trying until you've mastered it," I said.

I went to Fronja, and tried to teach him how to cool his water into ice, so that he could use Ice Beam or Ice Punch, but I don't really understand how he would do that. But, eventually, he did. He cooled off a Water Pulse to the point of turning it into ice. I walked away, and he kept practicing.

In this route, there aren't really any pokemon I want to catch, but I should probably start thinking about the future. What region should I go to after this? By that time, I'll have a Charizard, so the travel isn't something to worry about, but still. Back in my old life, this was my favorite region. Unova and Hoenn were close, due to nostalgia reasons, but where do I go? Maybe I should go to Sinnoh, since that was the only region I never played in back then. Nah, that would be dumb until I got more info about Sinnoh. Eh, maybe I should just stop thinking about this.

Instead, I decided to meditate to clear my mind. It worked most of the time, so why should things be different? Naturally, my pokemon eventually finished practicing and came over to see what I was doing. I could sense their spiritual energy near me. Wait. Hol' up.

Sensing their spiritual energy?

That's not something I can do, is it? Weird. I opened my eyes, and my watch dinged. I checked it and it said:

Host has reached the next state of existence!

What the actual hell does that mean?

Wait, if my watch can show my pokemon's stats, can't it show mine, if that's how it works? I tried it, and the watch actually showed my stats:

Age: 13

Strength: 87

Energy: 45

Intelligence: 78

Wisdom: 60

Spiritual Energy: 90

Life Force: 87

Abilities: Bond of the Eye(Unlocked), Resonance(Locked)

I am so confused right now. I understand my age, strength, energy, intelligence, wisdom, and the Bond of the Eye, but the rest? No clue. Wait, can I…

'System?' I thought.

'Host Black has unlocked Mind System! What would you like your trigger word to be?' it said in my head.

'Corbin,' I thought. He was my best friend in my old life. I wonder how he feels right now.

'Wonderful! What can I do for you?' Corbin said.

'Can you tell me what my stats mean? And tell me what the ability Resonance is?' I thought.

'Of course! Age is your actual age, strength is how powerful you are, intelligence is how smart you are, wisdom is the experiences you've had, life force is how many years you have left, spiritual energy is locked info, and Resonance is locked info' it said.

'What? What do you mean, "locked info"?' I asked.

'Creator of System has locked this information temporarily, however it is possible to learn these things yourself,' it answered.

Well then, I guess I'll need to ask around. Finally, I realized that my pokemon were all near me, looking confused.

"Oh, sorry guys, must've spaced out. Can you guys show me what you've learned?" I asked them.

"Pansage!" Sage said.

He brought me over to a tree and used Mach Punch on it, making a hole in it.

"Wow, nice job! I know exactly what I'm gonna teach you next. Hades, you're up. Show me what you did," I said.

Hades cloaked his hand(paw? Let's keep it at hand) in fire and scratched a different tree.

"Well, it's not Fire Punch, but it's still good! Let's call that move, Flame Scratch," I said.

"Char!" Hades said.

"Alright, Fronja. Let's see it," I said.

And he pulled both moves off. Ice Beam and Ice Punch. He used Ice Beam on another tree, then ran towards it at insane speed with his hand covered in ice, punching the spot he froze and toppling the tree.

Wait, that's not good.
