6 Chapter 5

"Great, just great, Luna. What were you thinking?! For all we know, this kid is evil or something!" I glared at Kai and covered the ears of Matt because I don't want him to hear the nonsense that's coming out from Kai's mouth.

"I'm not that stupid you know. I'm not like you. And I don't need your permission because I'm only asking mom and dad." I explained while still covering Matt's ears.

"Oh, really? How are you so sure that they'll accept him?! He's a strang—"

"Shush! Come, sapphire, let's go to my room." I removed my hands on Matt's ear and he just looked at me and nodded.

I don't want him to hear our conversation so I'm just going to leave him inside my room. Kai really is a great big brother.

I let Matt sit on the hanging chair and I kneeled down in front of him. "Look, you don't have to listen to our conversation because I don't want you to feel sad but I can assure you that our parents will accept you so you don't have anything to worry about."

The kid smiled and nodded at me. "Yeah. Thanks for everything, Luna."

I smiled at him back and leave him there just for a few minutes so I can talk to Kai without feeling bad.

"Okay, listen here you immature freak, you didn't have to talk like that in front of the kid! You're scaring him! I thought you liked little brothers more than little sisters?! Remember when you told me that!?" I hissed at him while glaring at him who just continue to play games on his laptop.

"You listen! What will you do if that kid is secretly dangerous? We don't know that for sure! He could be hiding the fact that he's dangerous. Yeah, I like little brothers so I can teach them how to bully you but I want my brother to be related to me and has the same blood as me."

I sighed and rubbed my temples, starting to lose my patience on him. "Okay, let's just calm down. Nothing is going to happen if we keep on arguing. Let's just see, okay? Mom and I will surely talk to him so we can know information about the kid but for now, he will stay here because sapphire has nowhere to go and the kid is beautiful, haven't you seen him? Imagine, leaving him on the road after I nearly killed him and people can take advantage of him. I will feel really guilty for the rest of my life. So just relax for a second okay?"

Kai sighed and just nodded, finally agreeing with me, and he continued to play the game. "Just be careful, okay? If you get hurt, mom and dad will be angry at me, not you because I'm your big brother."

"Yeah, yeah." I rolled my eyes but couldn't help but to smile because I know that my brother is secretly protective and cares for me, he's just annoying and a brat.

"Oh, and be sure to clean up the kid because he stinks."

I glared at him and punched him on his arm. "Stop talking! You're annoying!"

He just laughed and shrugged, not even bothered by my punch. I looked at my knuckles and hissed in pain as it started to get red.

He didn't even flinch and I'm the one who's hurt.

I left him in the living room and head to the kitchen to arrange something so Matt can eat. I decided to give him fruits and chicken salad to fill him up for the rest of the day since dinner is 7 hours from now and it's 1 o'clock in the afternoon. I prepared some apple juice and a small muffin before I walk up again to give him the food and while he's eating I can find Kai's old clothes so Matt can shower and change.

"Here, sapphire. Eat this all but slowly." I put the tray on the small desk and I smiled at him while waving at him to come next to me. He stands up and walks over to me with a small smile.

"Thank you." He said and he started to eat, not wasting any time.

"Just stay here for a while, hmm? I'll just find you some clean clothes that can fit you."

I left him again and go up into the attic where most of the things that we don't use anymore are there and maybe I can find old clothes that can fit him. I looked around the attic and it's not dirty at all because we cleaned it before putting our things in there, thankfully. Mom also likes organized things so she labeled the boxes from junk to old clothes so I don't have any problems finding clothes at all but something caught my eye and I immediately turn and grab the book that's filled with Shakespeare's famous quotes and lines from his poetry and books.

"Is it here? I know it's here somewhere..." I muttered to myself while turning the pages and my eyes quickly scan the words. Then I saw it. I saw the quote from that porcelain girl.

I rolled my eyes and chuckled because so what if I found who wrote the quote? It isn't related at all with the porcelain girl.

Something falls out of the book and I caught it before it can hit the ground and I stare at the old looking envelope, wondering what it could be but I'm not stupid enough to open it like that antagonist in horror movies so I decided to just keep it and ask mom later If she knows something about the envelope.

I looked at the back of the envelope and my mouth agape as I could recognize the symbol at the back. It's the same symbol as the amusement park where we go. I smiled and recall the times when we go there, it really is the happiest place in the world for me. I still remember the smiles of the people there, everybody's smiling and laughing with no sadness at all.
