10 Sweet Nothingness

[ Chapter 10 ]

"Don't be so sure." He responded with a playful smile, "I'm not that honourable."

Julian cast her a cheshire grin and twirled the wine glass gently in front of his sinful mouth before letting the red liquor to flow between his slightly parted lips.

He didn't break that searing gaze of his off hers whilst he sipped the wine, giving the illusion of instead the wine, she's what he drank up.

It's absolutely uncomfortable for Cassandra since he's extraordinary sensual, she had to gently squeeze her legs together to ease the aching sensation around her nether region.

Cassandra sighed inwardly. He's driving her uncomfortable as the time went by. She had just relieved herself but it seemed she had overestimated herself thinking she could resist such an irresistible charm.

Him alone was all the temptation she hard to resist. The fine vintage liquor only further making things difficult for her.

Had it not been that she had a trust in him, she wouldn't have been here drinking and risking herself defenseless around the man she barely knew. Be that as it may, she was definitely not a careless woman who will let herself exposed to the others. The fact that she's here drinking wine alone with him was because she's sure of her own situation.

Cassandra was an intuitive and perspicacious person, she knew well how to assess a person. Having been born as a proud daughter of elites and years of experience in the scheming business world have sharpened her perception to read and assess a person.

She knew he was no gentleman, but at least he wasn't a man who forces himself on women, she's sure of it. Even if he turned to be not a man she assessed him, everything was still within her grasp as long as they were inside this room.

Furthermore, Cassandra herself wasn't a physically delicate woman, being a woman of her status, having a passable high ability of self-defence was a must.

Cassandra then chuckled and shook her head, no need to feel wary of him as she believed in her own perception.

She dragged her gaze to the almost empty glass in her hand, she brought the glass to her mouth and took a whiff of the sweet and floral aroma of wine. Downing the last sip of the wine, a soft amusing smile brightened her beautiful countenance as if she just discovered something amusing.

Honestly, she had never been this low self-posessed woman. Don't be ridiculous, she's a woman of class, such a carnal desire wouldn't be able to cloud her mind.

Even so Cassandra couldn't lie to herself. She had been abstain for too long, the sudden exposure of intimacy had left her breathless yet—excited. It's like gasping for air after a few minutes without oxygen, her body craved for more.

She then returned those burning gaze of his which could let any woman melted, she tucked her wet blond hair behind her ear out of habit and flicked it. His eyes promising sinful things. She bit her lip as he gave her a somewhat lewd smirk. He's becoming bold and improper.

Cassandra wanted to roll her eyes but it would be rude. Part of her wanted to shove him as quickly as possible, there's nothing good being around him for much longer for he's just like a devil seducing women to commit sins. But the other part, most part, she somewhat enjoyed being around him.

Sure, it's not the first time a man hitting on her, countless men had done that before and she knew well how to keep them at bay. Cassandra was aware of how attractive she was. It's just the thought of romancing another man couldn't work on her, she didn't know why either.

Even so, she felt something different about this man before her. It might be because of his extraordinary visual, she admitted that physically speaking, he's her ideal. Not gonna lie, if she's a young unmarried woman, she would have surely fallen for him and she would have done everything to win him over.

Nevertheless, she's now Cassandra Qin, long gone was her young and naive self. Yes she enjoyed the pleasure of being wanted and desired by such a finest young man. But, if he thinks he could have her just because he already bedded her, that's too naive of him. Women are too complicated to win over just by a great fuck.

Neither she nor he was seeking some kind of romantic relationship here, if anything, bedmate was what he desired.

Who does he think he is? Wanting her, Cassandra Qin, to be his bedmate? Ridiculous. No one had ever disrespected her before, and she should feel insulted, but she didn't why rather than insulted, she strangely felt—amused. But still, she wasn't that low. Wanting her to be his bedmate? That's ludicrous, she wasn't a woman he could play around.

Letting out a faint smile, her lips curved up, "Is that so hmm?" Cassandra responded lazily to his teasing, "Care to explain what does that mean?"

"You do know what I mean," Julian's lips tugged into a sly smile, his wicked smile reached his eyes.

Noticing her glass was empty, Julian gentlemanly stood up and reached his hand to hold the bottle of wine. Out of basic etiquette, Cassandra outstretched her hand toward him with the glass on it.

As Julian was leaning forward and pouring the wine into her glass, she tried to ignore his hot visual, the neglection was to no avail as his visual was too tempting to resist.

Cassandra ended up licking her lip at those well-chiseled chest of his that was sculpted to perfection, and her mouth went dry instantly the moment her eyes caught the alluring veins around his well-toned arms.

Julian noticed her smoldering gaze and his lips twisted into a conniving smirk.

She then cleared her throat as she caught his cheeky smirk, she teared her eyes off him and brought the glass to her mouth. Quite annoyed.

Cassandra slowly tilted the glass of sparkling wine to her full lips before saying, "That's ungentlemanly of you. I was expecting more than that."

Filling up the wine on his own glass, he responded without looking back at her. "It's hard to be a gentleman when not being one could allow me taste your grace once again."

Cassandra could only click her tongue at his audacity.

"And also," Julian added as he lounged himself back in his seat. "You know it yourself. I'm a man women logically not possible to resist."

He's sure full of himself. She subtly rolled her eyes as she could feel the pure arrogance he had on himself, and she hated herself for being unable to contradict his arrogance. Yes he's a man women impossible to resist. With that look and after experiencing his "capability" by herself she gotta agree with that.

Cassandra squeezed her eyes shut and marveled at the sweet taste of the fine wine. Her mind was a bit complicated.

Tempted, she had to say. Him with those otherworldly pleasure he could give upon her. He had all what she had been craving for.

It wasn't like she's taken or something, there's nothing wrong with her if she, a single woman, having such a casual relationship with him. No hard feelings, they're just two individuals with mutual attraction.

But then, as if she had just remembered something, she gasped and cursed herself for her carelessness. She quickly opened her eyes to scan her gaze over his hand, his right hand's fingers.

Only when she saw no ring in his finger did Cassandra finally breath a sigh of relief. She would be in trouble if he's engaged or even married. Slutty homewrecker was something despised the most.

"Relieved?" Julian asked as the thought he could read her mind, teasing glint glimmered in his eyes.

Cassandra bit her lip and confirmed by nodding her head nonchalantly.

Julian tapped a finger over his crossing thigh, silent for a brief moment before speaking, "Who knows, it could be I just didn't wear my engagement ring?"

Cassandra sighed as he had a point. Tightening her grip on the glass, she sipped the wine.

"If that is the case. Well, I would feel sorry for your woman." Her soft voice trailed off, "Having such an unfaithful partner."

Feeling her displeasure, Julian decided to stop teasing her and flashed her a reassuring smile, "I'm not that kind of man, don't worry."

"I'm not taken, yet."

Cassandra pressed her lips into a thin line before sighing, "That's good."

Downing the last sip of the wine, he looked straight at her and smiled invitingly, "So as you could see."

"I'm pretty much available." He announced, unashamedly, his eyes were promising sweet nothingness.

Cassandra couldn't help but squeeze her thighs together at his tempting invitation, his voice just like a devil chants urging her to commit a dreamful sin.

Her skin warmed with his intensive eyes. It was as if he's undressing her on the spot, and she sat stark naked.

She swallowed hard, her eyes darted from his enchanting eyes to his sexy, glistening red lips. He's sure a womanizer for a reason, with such a charm. It's natural for any woman to fall for him, and she's no different.

Cassandra teared ger gaze off him and sighed. She swiveled her head to look at the bright horizon through the spacious window.

Sure he could give what she craved, but what she truly desired he couldn't. Casual relationship was never her forte.

Emptying the wine on her glass, she set the glass atop of the table and unfolded her legs. Meeting up with those pair beautiful pitch-black eyes of his, she curved her lips into a soft yet convincing smile.

"Julian. If you're looking for another hookup. I'm sorry I'm not interested." Cassandra drawled out, "Last night was a Wonderful, truly."

Cassandra let out a soft sigh before continuing, "But, that's all. It's nice meeting you really."

Her intention was obvious, she wanted to end their one night relationship. Ending their sweet, fleeting memory worth of yearning.
