2 Shall we get married?

"Are you alrig--?!"

"Stay... hah... away..."

The man held the bleeding wound on his abdomen and panted. It seemed pretty painful and it was probably pretty hard for him to keep himself up like that.

"I'm no threat, you can relax..."

I approached the man that gave me chills even though I could probably end him in one hit.

He still gave me chill inducing glares, but laid down with my help.

'damn... if looks could kill...'

I thought as he didn't even blink with me around.

"Where..."

"If you are going to ask where you are, this is a small nameless human town on the direct border with the Demon Town of Berr. I found you on my porch freezing to death, so I took you in. I don't know who you are or how you got here."

"Ngh..."

He winced in pain. His body seemed to be shivering to get rid of the cold, but that made him move. Which hurt his wound.

I stood up, and took a basket of water I prepared yesturday.

"I need to chnage your bandages and also your clothes, so please don't try and kill me. I mean no harm."

The wound I sewed together yesturday had completely opened up again and was bleeding out.

He just glared at me and nodded his head and he tried his best to sit up.

As I touched his body I soon understood just how much he was struggling. As his body was also burning up.

I knew nothing about medicine, so I could only try and bring his temperature down with the frozen snow in pigs skin warped in some cloth.

However, I didn't know if making his body colder when it's trying hard to warm itself up was the correct choice.

I knew that if I didn't get some fever medicine, he would die. But what excuse would I have to get some medicine.

After he fell asleep, I went out to Mrs. Ann's.

To ask for advice. At which she told me I could just buy some medicine from one of the doctors without an examination.

She got worried, but took my word when I told her it was in case of an emergency.

By the time I came home, the mystery man was already awake. Still panting away, but seemed more relaxed then before.

"I'm home. I got some cold medicine!"

I took off my coat and brewed the medicine into a small bowl of tea and made some poddigre with it.

He seemed to lack energy to even glare at me, I just sat him up and fed him.

By this point I was just afraid he would day.

I changed his wounds after he passed out and laid him by the fire again.

By the next morning, he seemed much better. With a still very raging fever, however his wound was not bleeding anymore. He woke up for his meals but the rest he spent sleeping.

It was like that for the next week.

Luckily, there was a serious snow storm going through the city.

My food pantry was full and ready for days like these, as at time they last for a month. I didn't have to open my store during days like those.

So I just focused on healing the dying man.

In the weeks time his fever disappeared. His wound still wasn't gone, however he seemed much better.

"So Mr. Solider, what is your name?"

I could finally ask this after a week of continuous care.

His glaring never disappeared, however he seemed to trust me enough to let me near.

"Ren Re'ene Pheonix. Well just Ren should be fine."

"I couldn't do that, 3 names is a sign of Royalty."

"I'm no royal anymore. I've been exiled from my family."

His honesty surprised me.

"Well aren't we alike. My name is Hana. I used to go by Hanabelle but was also kicked out of my family."

I smiled at him at which he looked away and scoffed at me.

That is how our conversation ended.

However we would spend these small moments talking with one another. Being closed off from everyone else in a small cabin somehow made us connect.

And soon enough, by week 2. Mr. Ren was strong enough to start walking again.

"Do you need help standing up?"

"I already told you I was fine... I can just hold onto the table."

"Table isn't enough! What if you slip and hurt yourself?"

"I'll be fine...ngh"

He grunted as he stood and slowly walked holding onto the wall. I stood at the side and watched, as he slowly started to walk like normal again. He was left with a little of a limp though. It seems that the cold damaged his leg a little bit.

"See. I can do it alone."

"Very nice! You did so well! Soon enough you won't need the wall as help!"

I clapped in geniuen happiness for him, as he smiled softly at me.

In just 2 weeks we became much closer.

I found out many things about Mr. Ren.

How he had 6 other siblings. He really likes pure pig blood and is very weak to spicy food.

He used to spend his time drinking sweet milk tea while watching people in a small Cafe that was under his name.

He was surprisingly very warm and talkative. Just on guard because of how his siblings betrayed him.

And by the 3rd week the snowstorm had calmed down.

Mr. Ren didn't seem to need much help anymore. So I just went back to work.

He still stayed at my home, but would spend him time hunting. Well what he could hunt down with his new limp.

Anything he seemed to think was eatable, he would bring home and prepare for dinner. Do I could just cook them when I got home.

And before I knew it a month had passed.

Mr. Ren seemed to regain enough strength to hide his horns and tail, at which I introduced him to the village.

His hair was white, more then platinum colored like mine, so he quickly got usherd onto the same attraction level as me. And he would help me out at the restaurant. We lived happily as just roomies.

Until...

"Hear thee, hear thee!!"

Suddenly there was an Angel visiting our small town.

"A new human law has falled through. Any men or a woman over 17 years old, must be married by the upcoming spring! Anyone who does not get married, shall be punished by death", it seems that human rulers, came under elven control while I was busy taking care of Mr. Ren.

And Elven obsession with marriage and purity was being pushed onto humans.

So...

"Wanna get married and move away?"

Was what Ren asked me suddenly during dinner.

I just looked at him and made an agreeing sound.

By the end of winter we were married and off looking for a new life.

Since the store was closed for 3 weeks and there were now 2 mouths to feed, the weeding in itself wasn't big. Just Mr. Ann and her husband and a few villagers that showed us good will.

The store was taken by Mrs. Ann and turned into a flower shop of the town while we packed our stuff and went to travel.

We traveled far and beyond.

It was a very beautiful time.

I would earn money by cooking while Ren would hunt for the ingredients. We became a pretty famous traveling restaurant. And I soon started to see Ren as more then just a business partner.

You see, the reason we moved away as soon as we got married. Was because we had not really "completed" our marriage.

We had not yet slept together. We didn't really do anything couples would, other then just sleeping in the same bed.

So during these times, these years. I started to see Ren in a more romantic light.

I think he started to feel the same, as he would often initiate cuddles and just romantic talks into the night.

By the time we reached a big city of Poly in the human world. We were a real couple.

As soon as we confirmed our feelings for one another, we bought a small flower shop in the human town we resided in. A small house was given to us because of the business we opened and we satteled down and started our new life here.

That's where we are right now.
