Just Another Day

What is your idea of an Angel?

Is it a chubby baby with blond hair?

Or a burning collection of wings with many eyes?

Or just a beautiful silver haired person, that has unbelivablely beautiful big wings.

Well... all of those are pretty close.

Angels are in fact very beautiful. Their appearance can't compete with any creatures on this planet.

However let me burst your bubble right here...

"Hannabelle! We have already told you. Even if you think you don't need marriage. Even if you aren't a pure Angel. As a woman you are nothing without marriage!" My father dearest screamed at me as I packed my things and moved away from my childhood town under the protection of lord Gabriel.

My parents had finally achieved a life outside of Purgetory as a mixed couple between a half wolf half Elf Hybrid and a human.

I, Hannabelle am a mix of a Werewolf, a human and an Angel.

When I turned 10, Gabriel came to visit my school and it was soon found out that I had very strong Angel traits. Not strong enough to receive the Angel crescent, however enough for my parents and I to exit the Purgetory and join the Angel Nobel society as a Baron family.

Thus I received appropriate education for a WOMAN.

Angel Nobilty is filled with old Elven customs. Such as the woman needing to be pure and a Virgin. Saving herself for her marriage and her one and only. Many women not even allowed to speak on front of their husband's.

Purgetory was a beautiful place, as none of those customs existed. And after many rejected marriage proposals, I was given an Ultimetum.

"You can either leave for the human relam or fulfill your duty as a woman of the Angel high society. You have many suitors because of your beauty."

My mother a human, had green as grass eyes, and my father had beautiful platinum colored hair. Of which I received both getically. My pale and fale skin that came from the Angel traits made me considered very beautiful in Angel terms.

However, I choose freedom over marriage.

After making sure my parents wouldn't be forced out of their home if they adopted an angel baby, I was officially banned from my hometown.

Now, with all that out of the way.

"Hana, are you there?"

I'm currently an owner of a small restaurant in a human city bordering with the Demon Land.

Despite it being in the border with the demons I've never received any trouble here. And due to me not having the Angel Crown or Piercings or anything of the sort, I can live a peaceful life as a human.

My appearance in these areas isn't a problem either, as I'm seen, as more sickly then beautiful.

"OH! Mrs. Ann! Is it the usual today?"

"Yes dear. I've come to drop these flowers off and get some lunch for my husband. He seems to enjoy more of your cooking then mine!"

"I'm very glad to hear that!"

Mrs. Ann is the person that saved my life.

After being basically exiled from my hometown, settling down in the human lands was hard.

I had traveled for a month before resorting to begging. Mrs. Ann had just lost her only child and helped me out as a way to grieve.

She even helped me open this small store. Though it did take us 5 years to earn enough for just this.

Ah, when I left, I was just 16 years old.

"Here you go. The usual Carp and Potatoes. I'm assuming you have your homemade sauce to go along with it?"

"Of course dear. The lemon white sauce is already ready to be used!"

Mrs. Ann ran out of the wooden store.

Now I'm known as Hana, an unfortunate soul that was traveling after a carriage accident 5 years ago.

The village accepted me, however I'll soon have to leave here and move somewhere else.

Because I'm still Techinally an Angel. I age much slower then humans. My 1 year is their 100 years. Some have already started to suspect me as a witch.

"OH, it's almost 6 pm. I should close the shop and go to bed."

After about a year of living at Mrs. Ann's, I ended up moving out.

Mr. Jay helped build the one room wooden cottage I live in now. The store wasn't even in sight back then, so my small cottage is far in the woods.

I close the story early during winter so I don't have to walk in the dark.

As I excuted the warm restaurant, the cold winter quickly bit my cheeks and fingers.

"Phew, It's cold today..."

The food I made for my dinner and breakfast already froze over as I ran through the silent small wooden town to my home.

Since I spaced out, by the time I reached the forest it was already sunset. I knew that by the time I would be home it would be pitch dark outside.

However, I never knew how much this small difference in schedule would chnage my life forever. Kind of end it actually.

. . . . . .

I entered the forest as the Golden Sun shone in the back.

The sun was behind me, which made me understand how late it was.

And how dark the forest would be.

I looked over the snow covered trees, took a breath and slowly started to make my way home.

The forest was in no way dangerous.

The most dangerous animal you could find was a blood sucking bat, however they only come out in the summer and don't attack women and men, just children.

However during the winter I was safe for the animal life.

The humans were your biggest danger in such a forest, in a snow buried forest at that.

The path to my humble home was pretty stright forward. However the snow would sometimes cover it up.

"Agh dammit. I'll have to close the restaurant tomorrow and rebuild the path..."

Due to the fact that it snowed some more during the day, walking was made very difficult due to the snow.

My grumbling, however, very quickly was led to a halt. That is because...

"ngh..."

I could hear some very muffled moaning. It was very close to where I was at.

The closer I got to my cottage, the louder it got.

That made me stop, I was scared I would get jumped.

But also, if I let it get to dark, I worried it would come towards me.

So I tried passing by as slowly as possible.

But as I got closer, the more I understood the sound.

It wasn't moaning, but groaning. It sounded like somebody was very much so in alot of pain rather then pleasure.

And my assumption was right.

As in the snow covered forest, there was also a blood and snow covered man.

My lunch that I held tightly to myself in a brown basket fell out of my hands as I ran to help the poor man.

Normally I wouldn't even dare approach someone like that, however in that moment a fear of death suddenly overcame me. That is because if I turned a blind eye, that man would 100% die during the night.

"Are alright sir?"

I touched his face and almost felt burned from the cold.

He was so cold I almost mistook him for the snow.

His face was paler then mine, and his hear had already frozen over.

However... as I came closer I noticed something very peculiar about him.

"Horns and a tail?!"

It was a demon. An injured demon was almost right at my porch.

If I decide to follow my teachings of hating demons and left him here, I would be seen as a monster and burned as a witch.

If I took him in and got found out... would still be burned as a witch.

After processing my options, I decided I would rather die a good person then a bad one. So I took off my cape and tightly wrapped him in it with my food. And the proceed to drag him inside of my humble home.

After that I just tried to make him as warm as possible.

I knew I couldn't call for a doctor, but I had some books on Demons from my childhood I took with me from home.

Through them I quickly found the bleeding spot and warmed him up as much as possible.

After that I just waited.

I knew I had be careful not to hurt his hair. The fact that it was so long meant that he was likely a noble.

His nails were promptly cut by me, I also made sure he was sleeping next to a fire with Boling water next to him at all times.

And sure enough, throughout the night he became warmer and looked less dead.

When I woke up the next morning I was met with a glaring man panting his life away.
