8 Chapter 8 - vengeful

She dragged me down the hall. The seemingly elegant click of heels were banging against the floor thunderously.

What was she planning on doing. I couldn't even get a chance to pull away what with how fast she was run-walking until she finally came to a stop in front a startled and shooken Damien.

"Mother what is the meaning-?", he started only to be cutt off by his mother's roar.

"You tell me Damien!", she screamed back and then hauled me in front of him holding me at both sides, "What's you excuse? I thought I raised you better than to keep making the same mistakes continuously", she spat, her voice cracked abit.

"I advised against the last one and he was sent back. I gave you Ryuu, was he not enough.." , she paused and I could hear the quiet trickle of tears that Damiens surprised eyes followed. "Have I failed as a mother that you went and bought an innocent human to this damned world.. it could have had a family", she added and my heart softened threatening tears. She was right.

"Mother I promise you she agreed upon this herself", he said smiling his mask back on then glancing at me, "Didn't you Gan Me?".

Megan.. That was my name but I couldn't help but recall Ryuus words. They sounded so real. As if he tried himself. As if he knew the futility.

"Yes he's right. I agreed", I didn't know what possessed me to sound so sure of it as well but I couldn't help but feel the unfairness of it all. They took my life away from me. My family. My drama. My dreams. I had always considered myself calm and not one that had much grudges but right now. Right now, i felt fire.

As i stared at Damien i smiled because i was going to ruin everything. I was going to be his worst choice as a revenge plan.

I smiled, my million dollar smile or so I wished anyway at Damien and then at his mother.

"This arrangement was completely agreed to", I confirmed with as much confidence I could rule out with vengeance.

"But then what was the reasoning?", she seemed skeptical by my sudden change in behaviour. But who wouldn't be, even Damien underneath his mask was probably wondering what was going on.

"She came from a parent less background. I've been sponsoring her for a while at her orphanage however shes reached 18 now so they expected independency", Damien said as if he was reading from a script and I figured Lorraine had already explained it to him.

His mother sighed exasperated from the turn of events probably, "so why didn't you just say that earlier?", she questioned looking at me with a note of annoyance.

I shrugged in return doing my best to seem nonchalant, "I wasn't sure of your identity", it was cooked up last minute but she took it.

She turned to Damien, straightening up into the same woman i saw earlier.

"Is that all", she narrowed her eyes at him. Threatening him to lie when in fact he'd already done the part." Something not quite right is going on here but I will excuse it until you come out with it", she clicked her tongue and I couldn't help but shiver.

She must have saw through everything.

"Well as long as it doesn't interfere with the upcoming war why should I be worried", she grasped her head as if a migraine was on its way." I just wanted to clarify is all, I need to be on my way", she nodded at Damien and left.

Just like that, no goodbye kiss or hug to her son. Just.. a nod.

I found it odd but Damien sighed, relieved.

"Thank god I thought she'd stay for dinner", he turned to Ryuu, "you really can't best my mother at hide and seek can you?", he laughed and Ryuu sighed.

"I tried to tell you..", he yet again sighed. I couldn't help but stare in wonder at him. Wondering how experienced in the scenario he had to be to know that.

My stomach growled interrupting the finally calm atmosphere. I blushed as Damien and Ryu looked at me and then started snickering.

"Hey! sorry I didn't eat before my unexpected kidnapping", I pouted, turning away. How could my own stomach betray me.
