14 Apologize!

"You idiot, stop picking on my friends!" The kid with the brown eyes roared.

"Ok, then I will pick on you." Caelum lifted the kid up by his tunic and stared him dead on in his eyes.

"What are you doing stop, stop you, dummy!" The kid struck him in the arms and face, shoulder neck everywhere he could in an attempt to get out of Caelums grasp it all ended in failure.

It stung, just a bit.

"Your words lack any punch, and it makes it funny when you are so serious. I am serious as well, my intentions were when I walked over here to tell you that I am the top dog around here. That's it."

"If we acknowledge your idiot self as top dog like you want will you apologize to my friends?" The kid barked.

"Apologizing will get us nowhere, I refuse to, I will not bow my head. You insulted me when I said that I was superior to everyone here I expected more than one of you drooling idiots to try to show me otherwise."

"I am disappointed." He was, kids can't usually form sentences until they are 3 or so and the genius that could before then had backbone, but just one 1 year old he could easily handle.

"Just go back to your corner, you loner!" yelled the brown-eyed kid as spit from the kid's overzealous words landed on Caelum. The other one-year-old kids did not take kindly to him picking up the brown-eyed kid though they did not move.

He was disgusted at the spit that landed on his face, however disgusting he thought that spit was he would not beat up the kid over that he was amiable if given respect.

"Eh, really? I never noticed I was one." Caelum stated sarcastically still holding the kid up by his tunic.

His gaze defaulting back to his usual serious self Caelum started to speak again locking eyes with the kid. "When you become 5 we shall fight for real and whatever the hell your attempt at resistance was you will make up for it with your fists."

"You shits, you hear, you did nothing when your friend stood up for you. You bystanders are better at not making friends then I am." At this point, Caelum was looking at the kids who looked slightly hostile at his actions. Caelums words were harsh, yet to the point as he spoke to the group of kids more.

"That goes for all of you, we shall fight in a few years. Train and study hard as to be better than you were today!"

He looked back towards the kid and spoke once more.

"Pass on my words kid to them when they are able to understand them. They need to have ambition, anyone with any talent should not privy themselves a drooler. They should privy a path only hard work can buy."

"And kid if you insult me again I will punch you in the face." Caelums smile now a frown as he talked down to the kid with the brown eyes.

"My names not kid, its Matt, you better understand that I will return this humiliation," Matt said, a fierce glare meeting with Caelum's icy scowl.

Matts reply entertained Caelum, this situation was funny to him.

"I am looking forward to it, kid." Caelum's imperceivable smile contrasted with his angry eyes.

Before Matt could correct Caelum, Caelum dropped the kid to the ground and walked away.

Caelums words made Matt feel great shame, he could do nothing to stop him, to make him apologize, he had to train hard and long to return the favor to the idiot who looked down on the other kids, on his friends.

When Caelum was alone he stretched his body. This went on for 5 minutes. After that he examined his system menus when he opened up his status he noticed a significant change in a few stats. It also cut out all of the extra information that had no use for him to look at at the time.

[ System User Examination - Stats ]

[ Strength: 11 > 14 ]

[ Constitution: 7 > 11 ]

[ Agility: 1 ]

[ Perception: 2 ]

[ Intelligence: 9 ]

[ Charm: 14 ]

[ Luck: 7]

[Regality: 1]

His strength had gone up overnight just from wearing the training equipment up 3, and his constitution up by an amount of 3.

The gains were noticeable.

As he would gain muscle his weight would increase fueling his growth more. If he wanted more incredible results he would have to put in work, strain his muscles and test his limits. It would be helpful if he had the appraisal skill he could actually figure out information that he could use against other people - he saw that in novels that he read about he could do the same. In a way information is keener than the edge of a blade.

He would also be able to more easily identify people who can help him in this crusade of his. He started it really on a whim, having allies would improve the chances of his success in a major way. If he apologized he could get Matt's help.

Caelum should have understood that they would not understand, most of them anyway his words. They were one, he was expecting too much. Matt could prove useful, but he seemed so far to be too obsessed with justice.

Caelum too did not like to see injustice happen just did not have a passion to fix all the evil in the world. With that thought, Caelum received a notification from the system earlier than he expected that he would.

[The task: Convince Someone You are a Genius has been completed.]

[You have been awarded for the successful completion of the task 150 experience and 10 fame.]

[250 Experience required to level up.]

[New Task Generated: Understand your own Limits has been added to your task list]

He did not ponder for long, it was very likely that it was Matt who thought of Caelum now as a rival, or someone to beat the shit out of when he got stronger. Matt was underestimating Caelum.

Today Caelum would understand his limits.

Any good protagonist would work outside of them.

Today Caelum proved himself as the strongest in the nursery. That was not an accomplishment worth praise, it was pitiful that he sought to get such a title in the first place. He did not need to prove his strength to others to be a genius.

Genius itself is proof. He would not be surpassed, be it by 1 rival or 100, before Caelum they were all, himself included frogs at the bottom of a well. He was the one closest to leaving such a harrowing place when he knew the world had so many things that youth learned of when they became older.

He planned on changing that, he would climb up from the well for he knew he had a long way to go, he needed strength and then he could find himself in a bigger world separate from the well. He had many notions that he was great - only in this nursery, he could say that.

He just surpassed a one-year-old in strength, is that anything to brag about? No, it's pathetic. He needed real accomplishments.

A knock on the nursery door signified that it was time to eat, today's meal was oatmeal. It was a nice but bad tasting distraction from his thoughts.

He had had to see how far this body could go with the taste of shitty oatmeal in his mouth he cracked his knuckles and began the training regiment that would make him worthy of his arrogant words.
