13 A Problem in the Nursery

Waking up was no issue for the young genius known as Caelum. He had set a goal for himself and he would do his best to fulfill it if he let waking up get in front of that how could he continue to breathe.

Though it was hard at the moment with his body weights still on. Compared to the day before it was just as difficult to bare the weight.

That was not a good sign, he would check his gains later right now he cared more for doing what he did every day when each day began.

He could only train if he hid from the useless drolling one-year-old kids that filled up the nursery.

Those that were suspicious of him would come to him if they had an issue. He needed to be stronger, and he needed to utilize his knowledge that was carried over from Earth to get the strength that he requires to keep himself alive fast.

Geniuses were envied, and targets of a persons envy if they did not prove useless were valued. He had to make others envious of him, the more he was the target of a peoples envy the more they would have to protect him - thus they would use more resources to nurture him so that Caelum could protect himself.

This orphanage might back some kind of sect, they might want him to join that sect so he could be a rising star, one who the fellow sect mates look up to a reason to join the sect so they might end up like him talented and someone who had the potential to go far!

Right now sadly, he knew that he was not the top dog. He had a long way to go before he could say that he was the top dog with complete confidence at this time. Caelum could not make too big a scene, he did need to sho

First, when Caelum woke up was identify who was in the room. As usual, there were many 1-year-olds playing with blocks and wooden toys in the shape of horses and medieval figurines.

Second, something he started rather recently. He began calling for Vaile instead of waiting for her to enter the room eventually.

"Matron, Miss Vaile could you come here?" He called to her, his voice not too loud as to bother the children but loud enough for his voice to reach her. If she was fine she would enter the room at any moment.

Caelum had to call to her a few times before she entered the room. She seemed exhausted but fine besides that. This made him certain of what he desired to say.

"Yes, Caelum you require something?" Her voice emanating the same tiredness.

"I was just seeing if you were alright." Her appearance while noticeably messy was not out of the ordinary. They must have decided to do nothing for now, or she did not go through it.

"That makes me happy, now I need your council for a moment." Caelum voiced with a tinge of happiness matching what he had said.

She slightly blushed, the blush usual on anyone who received a compliment.

"Why do you require my council?" Vaile said, her eyes staring down at his small body in a slightly better mood compared to when she just walked in.

"Yesterday, when I went outside I mentioned creating a pride. A group of people with a shared ambition in this case that will devour not literally anyone that tries to take a bite of anyone of the pride. Especially if it is the pride leader - me."

"Ah, you did say as much yesterday. More or less" Vaile said, her eyes processing information from the recesses of her brain before coming up with the information that was relevant to the conversation. "What about it?"

"I need to prove to you all, the other matrons and caretakers everyone that geniuses are worth supporting." He said anxious on how he would spread his great genius self.

"Your words make sense, geniuses are worth fostering, where is the genius?" She said looking around as if it were a joke.

"Haha, your sense of humor is not why I am seeking your counsel." What she said irked him, he did not show it on his face and did not take her comment to heart but any words can be made sharp.

"What is with that clothing Caelum, anyway?" Vaile asked, her eyes looking at the weighted training gear that was on his head, shoulders, chest, waist, knees, ankles, wrists, hands and back.

"This genius is training his body as a genius should," Caelum muttered, smirking.

Surprised, she examined the training equipment that he was wearing closely before their gazes connected.

"You say your training, this early? You are one, what if your bones snap kid?" She looked worried as she heard what Caeklum had said.

"Fuck you, my bones are strong like your snappy words are potent." he hissed to her, he would not stand being insulted, not as a kid and for a fact when this body grows not as an adult.

Vaile backed off a little. "Jeesh kid, your mouth is like a sailor's. A bit much is it not?"

"It gets my point across that is all that matters. So, is there any tournaments that pit geniuses against each other?" Caelum inquired to Vaile.

"We do not hold any for one-year-olds. We hold them for 5-year-olds, for the most outstanding. If we held any for one-year-olds that would be madness." Miss Vaile said a serious expression now on her face.

"Mad, maybe - a way to find talent, definitely. You may now go."

"Ok my lord." She said jokingly as she left the room.

He shook his head dejectedly before he stared at the kids. He remembered Miss Vailes words before, saying how they had talent?

He could still not believe it, when did they display their talents?

This was the first time he gave the other kids much thought. Should he have them join his crusade? He could turn their own geniuses against them that would be the kind of justice that would suit his crusade.

Yeah, he could. People listen to people that were strong. He was strong for his age...

Prodigies were stronger than their age group. However, a base level genius is really not worth nurturing. One who sought to improve themselves was, it showed initiative. Anyone who did show initiative even if you were not a genius would be better than geniuses who showed no initiative whatsoever.

He had decent stats, his regality stat most people likely did not have so compared to the rest he had a decent starting location. What regality was, it had likely to do with the aura or the way nobles carried themselves. The specifics of the stat were lost of Caelum.

Caelum took a breath and then spoke in front of where all the one-year-olds were gathered together.

"Hello everyone, you may not know me... but, I am stronger, faster and more talented compared to you lot."

No one said anything for a good few seconds.

"Can you all understand me, say yes if you do understand." He called out, waiting a few more seconds for a response.

"No."

A voice called out among the crowd of kids. Caelum glared as he swept his gaze across all the kids looking for the source of the voice. "Who said that?" Caelum barked as he finally locked eyes with the kid who did.

It was a kid was a kid with brown eyes and a disapproving glare. This kid had to have a justice complex.

"You need to prove your words. " The kid with brown eye's words were spoken as if they were venomous.

He would have had his work cut out for him. For any other genius as young as his physical age should be that might have been true. For Caelum, it was nothing for a true genius especially one who had a mental age of a teenager that was basically an adult.

"Explain yourself, you little shit."

The other kids were entertained as the two stand out nursery residents stared daggers at each other.

For Caelum and the brown-eyed kid, it was a battle of respect one that would affect their future.
