Clueless Royal

John Crue has always dreamed of exploring kingdoms but reality has thrown him into an isolated city filled with aristocratic families that are enveloped by luxury. He is not one of the nobles though. He is a servant to the Smith family, one of the most influential families of all Alistair Kingdom.

He is not a mere servant though, he is instead the resident servant that is trained to be the next butler of the Smiths. He was only five years old when the head of Smith have picked him up from the villa near the suburbs where his servant mother lived. His father is unknown because his mother was unsure of his identity and the next thing she knew she had been pregnant with a child. Through a lot of difficulties, her mother managed to give birth to him with the help of the mistress she served. He was not forced to do any house chores or wear any servant clothes. Instead, he was raised by his mother and the mistress who has to stand as his godmother.

He was a bright young child, with deep blue eyes and a black yet blue-tinted hair as that like of those in the royal family of the Alistair Kingdom, tall, a perfectly flawless skin. The mistress was indeed a mistress of the Smith family head, Clarkson Smith. When Clarkson Smith saw the lovely yet domineering looking child, he was stunned that he look like the crown prince of the kingdom. But he finds it impossible for the Crown Prince to take on a maid so he has thrown the idea aside. He ordered Jonessa Evans-Smith, his mistress to train the child the etiquettes and let him study with the head tutor of the Smith's head. If he manages to prove himself worthy, he will be trained to become the future butler of the household.

Academician Rosenwald was made aware that the child is an adopted son of the mistress but this is unknown to all parties except for the head. But he was more stunned to see the child look exactly like the crown prince he have been teaching during the same age as this child. He finds the child's name disturbing, John is the first King's name whilst Crue is the third name of the current crown prince. He was not told of his last name but it was long made known to him that his status will be different from his birth mother. Without a doubt, Academician Rosenwald knew that the little boy he will be teaching is maybe a child of the royal family but they still need to wait for his sixteenth birthday to prove that he is true of royal blood. Over the years, John Crue has grown into such a strong, domineering, handsome, and intelligent man. He is indeed very smart that he only took three years to complete his full-scale education. He was a genius. He learned martial arts, swordsmanship, calligraphy, etiquette, modern and alternative medicine, technology, and a lot of other skills in five years.

By this time, he is thirteen years old. He was brought to the main residence of the Smiths. His godmother has found it hard to let him go but John was amazingly good with appeasing her. But before he left, his mother have fallen sick. He left heartbroken but his godmother Jonessa promised him that she will make sure she will be taken care of. When he reached the residence, Clarkson looked at him in awe but it dissipated quickly and he again looked at him domineeringly. John remembered him and so he can only show his respect to him. He was sent to the training camp of the Smiths and trained with the other Smith's children. The Smiths have long been in service to the royal family. Also, the Smiths have always been loyal to the kingdom and are always the front liners during battles. They are the kingdom's first line of defense. Before John Crue was sent to the camp, he was ordered to wear a wig and have vowed not to show his hair until his sixteen years old. In their kingdom, only that of the royal blood can inherit such hair that will eventually turn to blonde gold when they come of the right age. Even if it was dyed, it can't ever be hidden. To avoid suspicion, he needed to do his best not to expose his hair. He knew of this and he has had a clue who his father is but he also needs to wait.

Just like that, three years have passed. It is time for him to go back and take on his position with another training. He has not taken off the wig yet because it will be a disaster if he does. His assumptions are right and now he has long blonde gold hair. When Clarkson ordered him to take it off he showed him his hair. And just like that, Clarkson bowed at him. Saying these words, "Your Highness, the glory of the empire, the lost prince. The Smiths will always be in your hands." John Crue was stunned. Never in his wildest imagination that this old man will bow down to him. He initially thought he will be a butler but instead, he was kowtowed by the most loyal duke of the battlefield, Clarkson Smith. He was in a daze but he quickly pulled himself together and said," Please rise, Duke." The duke rise and looked at him happily. He told him how the stubborn crown prince, now the king, has never married and told the whole kingdom that 16 years from now, your crown prince will stand in the crowd and you will all bow down to him because he will be the most powerful and most royal among royals.

All along his father has been waiting for him, but before he can answer, the butler has given them his respects and told them the news, "The Lost Prince's mother was taken away and kidnapped by unknown assassins." He was taken aback by the sudden news, so asked the duke if he can go back to the villa owned by his godmother and check on them. Initially, the duke disagree with his idea but he was stubborn enough to find a way to hide his hair and travel to the villa. When he got there, his godmother was in a daze and looked traumatized. He went up to him and suddenly his godmother hugged him and sobbed. "Your mother, Elissa, was taken by the assassins from the Northern Kingdom. I'm sorry I haven't hidden her well." These words send John chills down his spine.

"Godmother, what do you mean that you haven't hidden her well?" He confusingly asked.

"Your mother is the crown princess of the Northern kingdom. When she found out she will be wedded she ran away to our kingdom and met the crown prince, but she never knew who he was to this day. They loved each other wholeheartedly but she was then afraid that her father will attract the assassins from their kingdom so she left him and walked into the woods only to find me lying there almost dead. Your mother helped me but she also asked me a favor. She wanted to live here as a maid but after a month she found out she was pregnant. Her father, the king has searched their whole kingdom and other kingdoms as well for sixteen years. Last night, she went out to the night market to buy you a present but she was spotted by the spy from their kingdom. When she got here she gave me something and asked me to give it to you and to tell you that she loves you."

After speaking, she pulled out a pendant with a symbol of a frozen phoenix and a crown at the back with his name still with no last name and her mother's name: Elizabeth Samantha Therese Croglin. Indeed she was the lost princess, he never knew his mother's real name because servants will feel offended if asked of their last name. The Croglin Kingdom is the northern kingdom that is equally powerful to the Alistair Kingdom. Both sides don't meddle with each other's affairs. His mother has always known she will be found that is the reason why instead of raising him and educating him, she left him to the care of the Smiths.

John was never made aware of these facts that made him an instant a powerful royal prince of two kingdoms but his surprises will not end with this news. Something even more shocking will come on his way to the Kingdom.

The Duke has prepared all the necessary arrangements, as well as the people in the palace, have prepared everything for the arrival of the prince as instructed by the King. It has been made known that the Prince will be standing amongst the crowds and everyone will bow down to him because he will be the most powerful among royals. They needed to arrive at the palace before the moon reach its peak. John has known of these facts so his worries have dissipated knowing how the Croglin King values his first princess which is his mother. The duke initially prepared a carriage but he ordered them to go in a separate route and put a dummy inside. He was indeed calculative and knows that assassination will go after them on this very day.

He hid his hair with a wig and a cloak and stayed next to the duke while riding his horse. Whereas, most of the soldiers went along with the carriage. They took a shortcut through the forest and waited for the flare to signal the enemy's attack. After a full five minutes, the signal came. They instantly galloped through the vast field and reached the palace's secret entrance to the underground tunnel.
