9 Shadow Giant

Amaya and Katsu were both impressed by the creature's speed.

Amaya looked above the creature's head and saw its health points.

(Shadow Giant: Hp:10,000)

"This thing has really high health." Amaya stated.

"Yeah, I guess we'll have to go all out from the start." said Katsu.

Amaya raised her fists, preparing to fight. Katsu held out his right hand and chanted.

"Sword, Appear!" a blinding flash of blue light came from his hand. After the light had cleared up, he was holding his sword.

Suddenly, the creature started to grow even more tentacles looking shadows at a rapid rate. Only a couple seconds had gone by. There were easily a hundred shadows waving around out of the creatures back.

Amaya's eyes widened as she thought to herself

"The fight hasn't even started yet and I'm already sure we might not win. That thing's attacks are fast. Not to mention all of the shadow arms it's got. It's speed combined with all of its arms, my reflexes aren't good enough to keep up with that."

Katsu turned to Amaya and asked

"You ready?"

"Yeah, let's do this." she replied.

They began charging. The hundreds of the creature's arms launched at them as they ran.

Katsu was easily keeping up and dodging, moving side to side as he ran. Amaya was struggling to keep up. As she ran, she was jumping, sliding and moving side to side to keep the arms from hitting her. Each attack that missed would hit the ground and crack it.

Amaya began to slow down as she began tiring out. As the attacks kept flooding in, she was finding it harder and harder to keep up.

She had fully ran out of breath. One of the creature's arms launched at Amaya. Her eyes widened as it got closer and closer.

"I can't dodge!" she thought to herself.

The arm struck Amaya in the torso, sending her flying backwards. She rolled and tumbled across the floor before stopping and laying still. As Amaya was laying on her back, She lifted her head off the ground and looked over to Katsu. She saw that he was not charging at the creature anymore. He was overwhelmed as he fought off the many arms. Left, right, up and down. He continued to move at a fast pace, slashing and dodging. Amaya let her head fall back down.

As she laid there, she thought to herself.

"It hurts, I don't want to get up. Wait a minute, that thing's health was pretty high but, if I'm still alive then that must mean it has a weak attack power."

She lifted her head once more. Amaya looked at the creature and "Analyze!"

Its stats came into Amaya's view.

(Level:10 Hp:10,000 Mp:500 Atk:315 Speed:55 Endurance:110)

(Amaya:Hp: 50/365)

"Even though I trained in martial arts as a teen, I am still kinda inexperienced in fights." Amaya thought to herself.

She slowly started to stand up. Katsu noticed her getting up.

"Stay down! I'll handle this!"

He then turned back towards the monster. Suddenly, he was overwhelmed by the attacks and began to get slower and slower.

"Crap...I got distracted. Time slow!"

Katsu was finally able to see all the creatures' attacks clearly.

After dodging a large amount of the attacks, he yelled.

"Hundred clone slice!!"

One hundred different clones of Katsu appeared and ran at the Creature.

As they ran, the creature's arms launched at the clones and took a good number of them out. The remaining clones finally got close enough and swung their swords at the creature. It's arms moved around rapidly, blocking most of the attacks.

Katsu kneeled down in pain as he thought to himself.

"I'm still injured from the fight with that demon. My body is exhausted."

More of the creature's arms began to launch at Katsu. He slashed dodged them. Katsu began to reach his limit and slow down.

Suddenly...He was struck in the chest by one of the creature's arms. On impact, he coughed up blood and the force had violently sent him flying. He eventually landed on his back. Katsu laid on the floor but didn't try to get up.

Amaya began to charge at the creature as she stepped in a puddle of darkness. She couldn't move anymore.

"What is this?! Why...can't I move?! It's like I'm paralyzed in a running position." Amaya thought to herself.

She turned her eyes and saw the creature slowly walking towards Katsu.

"Is it going to finish him off?"

She began feeling stressed and helpless as she could not move.

"That monster is going to finish him off and I can't do anything about it! I'm too weak! I'm always in need of help or saving. But now someone else is in need of help and I'm just letting some shadow stop me from moving?! My goal was to save people. Katsu needs my help but right now I'm just useless. I'm useless, I'm useless, I'm useless, I'm useless."

Amaya then recalled a memory of her childhood.

All the kids looked down on her as they pushed her around.

"Amaya, why are you so dumb?"

"Amaya, you are useless."

"You always need help with something. You'll never be able to do anything on your own."

"You will never amount to anything great in your life."

Amaya's father raised his hand and slapped her across the face.

"You're a disgrace!"

Amaya then snapped out of her memories

The creature approached Katsu. One of its shadow arms stabbed him through the stomach.

Amaya was filled with an unexplainable amount of rage as she thought to herself.

"This is so unfair!! This damn shadow is stopping me from moving. I can't do anything!! Everyone was right, I'm usless, stupid and weak. I wish I could prove them wrong. Wait, I can prove them wrong. No...I Will!!. I'll rip this shadow... to shreds."

[New Skill learned: Rage] ['Rage' has activated]

Suddenly, the shadow that was wrapped around Amaya had ripped apart. She was free. The creature slowly turned towards Amaya.

Her skin was so dark that she looked like a shadow, her eyes whiter than snow. She seemed to have gone berserk, running on nothing but pure instinct. A great amount of shadow's launched at Amaya.

She was barely dodging them. One after another, the shadows kept rushing Amaya as she ran around, dodging them. Slowly but surely, She was getting faster and faster as the seconds passed. There seemed to be no stop to the creature's attacks but, there was also no stop to Amaya's speed increasing. As the attacks went on, she was now having no trouble dodging the shadows. She began running at an incredible speed towards the boss. Left and right, she was now dodging the attacks with ease. Amay jumped onto the shadow arms and ran up towards the creature. Suddenly, she was on its shoulder. She swung her fist, fast and hard at the creature's face.

Despite its size, Amaya's punch had pushed it back.

Amaya smoothly landed.

The creature's eyes began to glow red. Its shadow arms began launching towards Amaya. It's attacks were moving at least twenty times their original speed. Amaya ran, dodging every arm that launched at her. Suddenly she was struck in the stomach by one. The force sent her flying into the air. Another arm launched at her.

It caught her in midair. Amaya was trying to wobble her way out but was unable to. The arm squeezed her tightly and threw her to the ground with all of it's might.

The ground cracked as she landed on her back.

Her health lowered but she survived due to her skill "Rage" rapidly increasing her stats.

(Amaya: Hp:1,265+365/365 -945)

Amaya quickly jumped to her feet and started running at the creature.

Her speed had gotten even faster than before. The hundreds of arms kept rapidly trying to hit Amaya. She was dodging with little to no effort as if the monster was moving in slow motion. She was now within attacking range of the monster. She jumped up to the creature's stomach and let out a single punch.['Penetrate has activated] Her punch pushed the creature back farther than her other had.

It's health lowered

This did not stop the creature. It let out a monstrous scream then suddenly grew in size. It was now twice as big as it was before. One of the arms launched at her. She dodged by moving to the side. The arm instantly grew ten other arms and then launched at Amaya. She couldn't react in time as the arms grabbed her. She tried to free herself but couldn't. A black colored fog started to appear from the hand that was holding her. Amaya's life was rapidly being drained., then replaced by her skill.

She was trying to break free but the creature's strength had increased.

Her health wasn't being replaced fast enough and was slowly getting closer and closer to zero.

(Amaya: Hp: 45/365)

A voiced shouted

"Slashing Wind!"

A violent burst of wind hit the arm that was holding her.

It was sliced in Half and Amaya fell from the air. She smoothly landed.

Katsu was standing with major injuries. His Health was low.

(Katsu: Hp: 92)

The darkness that had covered Amaya's face was gone and her eyes were back to normal. She seemed to have snaped out of the berserk state she was in. The creature's attention was now focused on Katsu.

He began walking towards the creature.

"If I wasn't already injured, I could have taken you out with little effort. Compared to the other boss monsters out there, you're nothing."

The creature launched all of it's arms at him at once.

Katsu then thought to himself.

"Right now, I'm too injured to keep up with any of those arms. I'll use up all my Mp to cast a spell to counter them."

The arms got closer and closer.

Katsu shouted.

"Great wall of fire!"

Giant flames appeared that were at least the size of the boss. Each arm that launched at Katsu hit the fire and disintegrated.

The flames then disappeared.

Katsu shouted again.

"Hundred clone slice!"

A hundred clones of Katsu appeared and started rushing towards the monster.

"Without the hundreds of shadow arms, you will take the full damage of this Skill."

All the clones had gathered around the Boss then jumped up and began slicing.

(Shadow Giant: Hp: 0/10,000)

The creature stood there for a second then shattered into thousands of pieces. Katsu's clones disappeared and he was exhausted.

"I….overdid it."

Katsu then fell over, unconscious. Amaya ran over to him and saw that he still had health left.

"At least you're alive"
