21 Warrior Class 2B (2)

"So, where are you from?" Raikou inquired.

He was trying to gauge her intentions in being in the academy, while concealing her name and cultivation.

"I am from a nearby village that was destroyed in a beast attack." She replied with a look of sorrow on her face.

"Damn, she's good. If I didn't have the system, I would've believed her facial expressions and words." He thought while externally trying to console her "Sorry, I shouldn't have pried. Well, you're in a safe place now. You can get strong and prevent things like these happening to others in the future."

'Amelia' looked at him with some interest. "Yes, you're right. That is why I am here, I want to get strong enough to destroy all my enemies." She replied with a smirk on her face.

The smirk sent a chill down Raikou's spine. He was wondering who her enemies were.

"I hope it's not this academy, I need to spend more time here to show off. It's not like I am attached to it enough to save it from attacks." He thought.

Raikou didn't believe in going out of his way to save everyone. His belief is in protecting those close to you and those that are in dire need. An academy being attacked would only warrant his response if they were innocent. This is shown in his saving of that little boy that got him demolished by truck-kun.

"Why didn't you pick magic or archery as your profession? With your affinities, I am sure you had all the statues glowing. At the time, I didn't really look at anyone else's results, so I didn't see what you got."

She smiled "Yes you're right, I did get all the statues glowing equally brightly. However, I want to fight on the frontlines in the future. Both of my parents were warriors and I want to be the same as them."

Raikou took notice of her referring to her parents in the past tense. It was clear that her parents are dead.

He sighed and thought "She's an orphan like me. Maybe it's linked to what she is doing right now." He shook his head, cleared his thoughts and decided not to dwell on another person's affairs at this moment.

Teacher Lilia had given the class some time to converse with each other and had finally decided to end the mingling between the students. "I hope you have all got to know each other. Now I am going to explain what this class will consist of for the near future. You will all be trained for a period of one month in your weapon of choice and in the elements you have the best affinity for, and once this period is over we will be conducting a battle assessment with class 2A."

The student's reaction was split between glee and reluctance, as they all began talking about the upcoming battle to each other.

Lilia slammed the table and screamed "When did I say you could interrupt me? I'm not done. There are 25 people in each class and you may have to fight each other at some point. Whoever comes in the top 25 will move to class 2A and those who are not will either remain here or be demoted here if they're in 2A currently. Rewards will also be given to the top 3, which will not be disclosed at this moment. Now scurry along, training will begin tomorrow. You will have to attend class for 8 hours a day, 6 days a week."

Most of the class was displeased when they heard how much time they would have to spend training, but kept their discontentment to themselves to avoid another telling off from Lilia.

Raikou got up and quickly went to leave. He was hesitant to interact with 'Amelia' and he wasn't sure why, but he was sure it had nothing to do with her secrets.

(A/N: Someone is scared of his own feelings for the girl, hehe.)

He returned to his dorm and told Ghost about what had occurred in the class.

"I'm surprised, I was convinced you liked men." That was Ghost's response to Raikou's summary of his day.

"That's it! I'm not talking to you anymore today." Raikou flopped onto his bed and sulked.

At this moment he heard a Ding!

Quest: Go to the academy library and fill in the gaps in your knowledge of keys cultivation related facts.

Reward: Knowledge, don't be greedy.

Raikou rolled his eyes at the response. "What was the point of displaying a reward, if you're not actually going to give one?" He asked.

"Shush, there are two more quests for you to look at. Why is your attention span so low?" The system replied.

"How about... YOU KISS MY ASS!"

"No thanks."

Raikou continued to read the quests.

Quest: Find a good weapon

Reward: Varies based on weapon quality.

Raikou decided to leave this quest until he gets more knowledge on the world, as he currently can't see the quality of weapons with his observation until he gets the knowledge required to understand it.

Quest: Find out the mysterious circumstances of Satella's stay in the academy.

Reward: 50,000xp

Raikou's eyes widened. "With the reward being that high, there must be some danger related to her. Do I do it?" He thought. "Fuck It! I'm not a pussy, I need the xp anyways."

Before closing the quest menu, he saw another quest that was below the new ones.

Quest: Kill your first human

Reward: 25,000xp (-1 cultivation level if you target an innocent individual)

This was the quest he had received back in Hodge city, it still hadn't been completed. It had also been scaled up and changed for his current cultivation level.

"Cool! You can even improve the rewards, if my cultivation is too high for shitty rewards!" He said to the system.

"Haha, of course. Didn't I tell you, I am the system of all systems!"

"Fuck yeah! You definitely are." Raikou was pleased with the abilities of his system.
