24 The First Week Of Training (2)

Raikou made his way to the Wind Element class, which was picked out for him by Lilia. She assumed that speed would be more of a boon to him in the battle assessment.

He went to the wind element class and they were all sitting in a lotus position.

The female teacher smiled at him. "Come young one, get into the lotus position and sense the air around us." She inhaled before continuing. "We will spend the first week just feeling the air around us and getting familiar with it. We want to cherish it like a family member before even thinking about utilising it for other means."

Raikou's eyes darkened as 3 black lines appeared on his forehead. "What the fuck have I walked into... I think I may kill myself." He cried inwardly as he thought.

He spent 4 hours just sitting in a lotus position sensing the 'air' around him before he was finally given freedom.

He began walking back from the training ground when someone tapped him on the shoulder. He smiled assuming it was Satella, but he was disappointed at the reality. It was Lilia.

"I need to talk to you. I saw you practising your footwork and was surprised at your talent. Your amazing affinities was extremely shocking, but I don't have much talent in them, so I didn't have anything to offer you. However, I would like to take you in as my disciple for swordsmanship."

Raikou laughed at her question. "Heh, what can you offer me?"

"Well, I am the best sword user in this academy. There are others in the academy stronger than me, but in terms of pure swordsmanship I am the best."

"Not enough, my badassery levels can't be contained by a master. Being your disciple would make me be under you in status."

Lilia was starting to get extremely annoyed at this point. "Heh, aren't you already below me. You're a student, whereas I am a teacher."

"That's different from being someones disciple." He replied. "Anyways, there must be another reason. Do you have a rival and you want me to beat their disciple?"

"Along those lines..." She sighed after being seen through.

"How about this, you teach me swordsmanship as a TEACHER rather than a master and I will kick whatever ass you need me to kick. Limited to one ass kicking only!"

"Fine..." She walked away dejectedly.

Raikou was pleased with the outcome. He gets a better swordsmanship teacher and he only has to kick some ass, he planned on doing that anyway!.

The next day...

Raikou walked into the training grounds and smiled at the instructor. "I am out of your 'care' starting today."

The instructor sneered. "What is it? You realised you're useless and decided to give up?"

Raikou starting rolling on the floor and laughing. "HAHAHA, that's the funniest shit anyone has ever said to me. Me and useless don't go in the same sentence! Lilia saw how badass I was yesterday and decided to teach me herself."

The instructor grit his teeth and asked. "What was 'badass' about what you did yesterday? I didn't see you do anything useless."

Raikou clasped his hands behind his back like a senior and replied "My son, that is because you have eyes, but can not see Mt.Tai! Watch me and learn from the errors of your ways."

He used the basic footwork to slowly move away the instructor and towards Lilia.

The instructor watched his great perfection of the footwork in action with his mouth agape with incredulity.

"That was a good session of showing off." Raikou exclaimed.

"Right then Lilia, what do you have in store for me!"

Lilia forced a smile and responded "That footwork is too low a level for you and practising it to transcendence won't do much. I will show you a better footwork technique for today and you will practise this instead."

She got into a battle stance and started moving at extremely rapid speeds. Raikou found it slightly difficult to follow with his eyes. It was similar to the basic footwork, but felt more profound.

He began practising it and heard a ding!

Basic Footwork has evolved into Rank D - Advanced Footwork (Initial)!

He smiled and continued practising.

Lilia watched him with amazement throughout the session.

By the end of the 4 hours, he had broken through in the technique to small perfection and was growing increasingly proficient in it's use.

"When will you teach me how to use the sword itself?" He asked Lilia.

Lilia was still in shock from the session and quickly snapped out of it. "I will show you some sword moves in the second week. It is important for you to improve on your foundation first. Once your footwork reaches great perfection, I will give you a proper footwork skill. Strive to reach great perfection before the battle assessment and you will have high chances of getting into top 3!"

"What the fuck! You're still underestimating me? I can get first place with ease, even if I didn't train for this whole month!" He replied shamelessly.

Lilia rolled her eyes at him and walked off.

"Let's go to them fucking useless elemental lessons now. The system has 1000x the use of all those teachers put together!"

"Why thank you!" The system replied.

"Shut the fuck up, you smug bastard!"

Raikou was in a bad mood, as he had to attend that shitty wind element class for another 20 hours this week.

He opened the doors hoping for a different sight, but they were still sitting in a damn lotus position.

"Oh god, if you're there please save me from this torment." He got into the lotus position and cried silently.

After another 4 hours of torment, Raikou walked back to his room like a zombie.

"Hey, how has your day been?" Ghost asked, knowing full well that Raikou spent 4 hours in that wind element class.

"I don't have the mental energy to argue with you today. I beg you, kill that teacher for me. I will be eternally grateful." He moaned and curled up into a ball on his bed.

Ghost laughed for 5 minutes straight at Raikou's predicament before going back to cultivating.

'Another 16 hours of this... I can't do it, I just can't." He mumbled while slowly falling asleep.
