45 The Cave (2)

Raikou kept rubbing the hilt of his new weapon. It felt so smooth and it continuously reminded him of all the amazing things he had acquired after killing that mage.

They walked into a room and looked around. It was empty. Raikou felt like there was something more to the room. He opened the cupboards in the room and checked behind every object. There was nothing that was special.

After a while, he gave up and decided to leave. He went up to the door and was flung back into the wall.

"What is this?" He got up and dusted himself off.

He inspected the door to see what flung him back.

Blood Drawing Formation: Unknown methods. Drains the lifeforce of the person in the formation.

Raikou was alarmed by the description. He could feel his lifespan decreasing. It had currently decreased by 10 years, which wasn't significant, as a cultivators lifespan doubles in every realm. He had a lifespan of 200 years when entering rank 2 and 400 at rank 3.

(A/N: Didn't really mention this before did I... My bad)

Of course, if he didn't get out soon, it would take away an amount that would be a big issue for him.

"Formations use magic. It's kind of obvious on what you can do."

Raikou looked at Ghost and smiled. "You're right. That new 'skill' came at a convenient time."

He unsheathed his sword and slashed at the door passageway. The slash contained the void passive, which destroyed the formation within the room.

Screams and shouts were reverberating through the halls of the cave. Raikou went to find the sources of the noise.

Rooms after rooms were filled with people that were having their lifeforce sucked out.

"I don't think the cultivator who owned this cave is truly gone. He has something sinister in play." Raikou thought.

He freed people from 2 rooms and was about to cut through another door when his head began spinning.

His vision was starting to go blank and nausea was creeping up. "What is this?"

"The void isn't something that can be employed continuously by someone at such a low cultivation." He could hear the voice of someone in his mind.

"Who is that?" Raikou was starting to panic. He couldn't hear Ghost or the system.

"In time. In time, you shall know. Remember, you're not invincible. Don't go around overusing such skills and magics without understanding their parameters." The voice slowly faded and Raikou could feel the presence of Ghost again.

It disturbed him greatly that he didn't know who that was. It was the only time on Epsilon that he didn't feel in control. It was like a violation of his being.

"Our connection got cut off for a second there." Ghost was quite worried.

Raikou was shocked hearing this. It felt like time had flowed for hours in there, but he had only disappeared for a second out here.

He looked at Ghost and replied, "I wish I could explain." Raikou sighed.

He walked past the next room without aiding the people within. The energy showing on his stat page had depleted to 50. It wasn't something that he usually took notice of, as he hadn't been in a battle or situation where it was truly difficult for him.

"Hey! Save us too. Please, we'll do anything." People were begging for him to save them aswell.

"I'm sorry, I can't." He gave a cold reply and left.

"Curse you! I hope you die with us." He could hear hopeless shrieks condeming him in the background.

"Let's find the main area of this cave and get the fuck out. Maybe we can find the core to this shitty formation and save everyone without overusing my energy."

After an hour of searching, Raikou came upon a huge golden door. It was covered in etchings of unknown meaning.

With a push, the huge doors creaked open. Raikou was greeted to the sight of treasures everywhere.

There were piles of gold on the floor with pieces of equipment laid over them.

10 weapons in total were of value. He inspected them to discover that there were 2 Earthly armaments and 8 spiritual peak grade armaments.

"It's not a representation of his true wealth, but this transcendent is truly rich." Raikou was joyful upon seeing everything around him.

He instantly fed the 8 spiritual armaments to Bishouken, bringing it to the peak.

The earthly armaments gave off a aura that he had never seen before. He inspected them to see their properties.

Name: Aurora Light - Inner Vest Armour

Quality: Earthly 1st Grade

Effect: +20 Toughness +20 Intellect +20 Wisdom. Uses light to heal the user gradually for an hour. (Speed and quality of healing can be improved if user has light affinity)

Name: Spatial Pendant

Quality: Earthly 3rd Grade

Effect: Allows user to store up to 1000 cubic meters of space. Can be used to teleport to a previously visited place (One time only)

Both armaments were enticing to Raikou. He took off his top and put the vest on underneath. It was extremely light and did not give him any discomfort.

Raikou gave the pendant to Ghost. "Pretty damn convenient isn't it! You wanted a pendant, and now you have one. You can use it to teleport to a visited location once. Remember only use that under dire circumstances."

Ghost nodded and took the pendant with glee.

There was nothing else in the room other than the gold. Raikou put all the gold in his inventory and it added up to 1,000,000 gold in total.

"I'm fucking rich! MC luck is the greatest!" Raikou laughed at his luck with absolute joy.

Past the gold, there was an etching on the floor. The etching matched those on the rooms that had the formation.

Raikou assumed it was the core of the formation and checked his energy levels. Within an hour they had gone up to 550. That was enough to use void safely.

He punched down at the etching and the cave started to rumble.

"Oh shit! We have to get out of here!" Raikou realised what he had done and they both frantically ran at their highest speeds possible to escape.
