78 The Angry Elf

The rage was evident. It was plastered all over her face. The tips of her pointed ears were red and her eyes were starting to redden also.

"Damn. It takes a high level of anger for your eyes to go red along with your face." Raikou was amazed with how much anger she was able to accumulate over two simple actions.

"I won't say it again. Give it to me!" She really was on the brink of exploding from anger.

"Doesn't matter. You have already asked me twice, so what else is there to stop you from doing it again and again. Not interested, unless you have something to trade for this." He played with the orb in his hand, as if teasing her with the prospect of having the armament.

Before he could even do anything else, an arrow came flying at his head. The speed was shocking and it didn't even give him enough time to react.

An ice wall suddenly popped up in an attempt to block the arrow, however the arrow was still able to pierce the wall and impacted with Raikou's forehead.

He could feel the red mark on his forehead from the arrow. Blood trickled down his forehead, blinding his vision.

Wiping the blood, he looked up at Ghost and winked. Without that ice wall, there was a high chance of the arrow doing severe damages.

"These elves are all stronger than their human counterparts. I don't think I can defeat her, but luckily, she can't defeat me either." The inhabitants of the continent of Ancients were much more dangerous compared to what he had estimated. Their combat prowess outstripped that of the humans by a huge margin. It was lucky that humans had an overwhelming population number, which made the power balance even out.

Another arrow came flying at his head, but he was prepared this time, so he split the arrow down the middle with a strike from his sword.

"That won't work twice." He smirked at dashed towards her. The sword in his hand moved with grace as the strike hit her. Ice and fire began to form simultaneously on the shoulder that had been hit.

Maria knitted her eyebrows in pain and put a hand over her shoulder. When she took her hand off her shoulder, the wound and effects had disappeared.

"Aura!" Halfway through another attack, he activated aura and used the power boost to get a jump on her. His sword hit her again, this time hitting her in the other shoulder.

The wound was healed once again, but he could feel her energy levels lowering gradually. Her eyes displayed the fury rising within her, as if no one had ever put her in such a predicament in the past.

"For disobeying this Queen, you must be punished!" An arrow made purely of light slowly formed in her bow.

She flew backwards and shot it towards him. The explosive power behind the force made it so that he couldn't dodge. Blocking was the only option. but even that would be troublesome.

"An arrow of light?" He closed his eyes and activated void. Using his senses, he covered his sword in the power of void and blocked the arrow.

The usage of void triggered something within him, as if he was attuned to all the energy around him to a more advanced state.

A breakthrough to small perfection!

The void negated the power of her arrow, which left her reeling back in shock.

Raikou saw the look of shock on her face and he laughed. "Let's be honest. Neither of us will win this battle, and I definitely don't plan on giving this to you."

Maria herself knew that it would be quite difficult for her to get the upper hand in this battle. It wasn't smart for her to continue, as she had a whole territory to take care of, while her opponent wasn't tied down by anything significant.

The advantage was with him and he knew it.

"As a favour, I will keep this orb for myself. How magnanimous am I?" He stroked his 'beard' and waited for her resposne.

Maria looked at him with a cold gaze that could even freeze a fire. Her fingers dug so deep into her palm that blood began to trickle out and fall to the ground.

"Fine! You can have it for now." Each word was a struggle for her to get out, as it directly conflicted with the deep seeded pride of an elf. Making concessions was something near impossible for them to do.

"An obedient elf, is a good elf." He ran up to her and poked her nose.

He felt an imminent threat and jumped up. His body narrowly dodged the arrow shot by Maria.

"Seems she didn't like me touching her nose." He mumbled.

Raikou checked his connection and found out that Satella was a few miles away right now. Her swift change in location must be the use of space magic. He wanted to go see her after this had been wrapped up.

"For now, I must get stronger. Even with a breathrough in void, it would be difficult to fight someone at the peak saint level."

Before he left, he signalled for Ghost and a silhouette of a huge man and a flying creature came down from the top of the castle.

"Ok, let's go."
