32 Satella's Circumstances

Raikou cleaned the blood of his sword and sheathed it. He turned around and looked at Satella.

"Right then. Do you want to tell me what that was all about?" He inquired. His plan was to try and get a confession out of her before amazing her with his own knowledge of the situation.

"Listen. I don't know how you are that powerful, but it isn't enough. I recommend you don't stick your nose into my business." Satella looked at him frostily before turning around to leave.

Raikou grabbed her wrist and pulled her back in. "Just tell me. Maybe I can help. Even I don't know why I want to help, but your act of trying to 'save' me there was quite beautiful. Of course, with my level of badassery, I didn't actually need the help."

He continued. "I know some things already. Want to hear them?" He paused to make the situation more suspenseful.

Satella didn't believe his boasts, but decided to humour him. "Go on then. Show me what you 'know'."

"First thing is. Your name isn't Amelia, it is Satella Tu Odelschwanck." Raikou smiled and waited to see the surprise on her face.

To his delight, he had finally made her face display some shock. It intrigued him, as she was the only person not impressed or surprised by any of the antics or talents he displayed.

"How? How do you know my name? Are you one of them too!" She stepped back and pulled out her dagger.

Raikou tried to fix the misunderstanding. "No, no. I have a technique that lets me see through people's lies in a way. I can see that your cultivation is at the peak of rank 2 and your name." He left out some details, as this was already going over the top.

He continued. "Other than that, the only things I know are those that I heard you guys say in there. Something to do with your family being in trouble and that you have to assassinate someone. That's some pretty serious shit!"

Satella was trying to process everything she heard right now. She stood there for 2 minutes staring at the floor before she decided to speak.

"Fine. You already know my name and parts of my mission. Let me tell you. This is your last chance to leave. If you decide to stay, you will be embroiled in some serious dealings." Satella warned him.

"Nah, I'm good. I'm abit bored in this small kingdom anyways. Besides, I feel like this might be a quest chain of sorts." He whispered the last part to himself.

Satella looked at him curiously. "Fine. Dig your own grave then. Here goes nothing. I am from the Continent of the Ancients. My mother is the leader of a high ranking group, I can't explain more about that. There is another group of equal power trying to pressurize her. Of course they can't do much, but the threat of mutual destruction is very tempting to other parties." She paused to allow him to process the information.

She continued. "The leader of the other group approached me and told me to enter a lower ranking kingdom on the Idril Continent. I was to pose as a student and assassinate a student with high potential. The only information they have on him is that he is male and was able to hide his true potential from the potential stone."

"Shit! Fuck! Are they talking about me?" Raikou screamed inwardly.

"After some investigation I was able to find out the identity of me target. It was the boy in our class, Moses."

Raikou let out an inward sigh of relief. "Damn. Being part of this didn't feel too scary, but being the target of it was a whole other thing. Luckily, it wasn't me they were targeting."

Satella wasn't sure of his thoughts. She was abit worried he would attack her. "Of course, I was reluctant to kill an innocent individual, so that was what this whole fiasco was about."

Ding! Quest 'Find out the mysterious circumstances behind Satella' completed.

New Quest: Help Satella at least once.

Raikou stepped forward and she retreated. He laughed. "What? Did I say I was going to kill you? If I wanted, you would be dead already." Satella stopped at those words.

"He is right. I saw his strength against Ligma." She thought and decided to listen to what he had to say.

"I am not going to help a random girl with her troubles. I kind of owe you a favour for trying to save my life. It was the thought that counts. I won't allow you to do any type of bullshit in the academy, but if you need help I will aid you once." Raikou did like her, but he wasn't willing to risk his life for the sake of a girl he barely knows. The boy he saved from a truck was an aberration.

(A/N: Can't be making him one of 'them' MCs. Comment on whether this is good or not. Of course, I won't change it, I just want to know.)

Satella nodded at his offer. "He is more level headed than he looks." She thought.

She was about to leave when he called out once again. "Before you go. Can you give me an approximation of the strength of the leader of the dodgy organisation?"

"Well, I don't know it exactly. However, the group is similar in strength to the one my mother leads, and she is at the peak of rank 6. That's why I warned you to not get involved." Satella replied.

"Ah shit. Sounds dangerous." Raikou moaned.

Satella laughed at his response and left.

"That was quite fruitful. I am close to breaking through and I was able to learn a new skill!" Raikou exclaimed.

"FUUCCCKKK! She left me with the damn clean up." Raikou was about to leave when he saw the two bodies. "Let's see. I haven't tried this before." He touched the bodies and they entered his inventory.

Raikou was surprised with the new discovery. "Interesting. System, can I put living beings in my storage?"

"Not yet. Maybe in the future." The system replied mysteriously.

"Tsk. Either give me a straight answer or don't reply at all."

"Ok. Next time I won't reply."

Raikou punched a wall and it caved in. "Just imagine that is you."

"Oh my." The system gave a nonchalant response.

Raikou rolled his eyes and made his way back to the academy.
