47 Phenomenon

They spent the next day in a hut that was situated in a forest. The forest was a mile away from where they stopped running.

Raikou planned on going back to the city, but Ghost had begun glowing and they had to take shelter.

Ghost was about to break through to rank 4, but the breakthrough was unlike any they had heard of before. He was writhing in pain and howling continuously.

"It hurts!" He screamed and screamed until he collapsed.

Through their connection, Raikou could sense shocking changes occurring within Ghost's body.

A light shot up to the sky. It had an icy hue to it and was filled with immense majesty.

1000's of beasts of all ranks up to rank 4 came to see what was going on. Upon seeing Ghost's body their eyes filled with greed.

"Oh shit, a stampede." Raikou began to panic, he thought Ghost would die.

"AAHHHHHH!" Raikou screamed and activated Aura.

When he activated it, he felt it breakthrough to great perfection. The effects had gone up to 9% increase.

Raikou looked around and there was no sight available to him that didn't have a vicious beast approaching from. He unsheathed his sword and stood guard over his friend's unconcious and writhing body.

"You will not take another person from me!" Raikou's eyes were bloodshot as he frantically unleashed cloud slashes upon the beasts.

Blood was splattering all over the faces, he wiped the blood covering his vision and cut the through the magic being launched at them with void.

Warning! Energy levels have been depleted.

He ignored the warning and let off cloud slashes again, instantly killing several beasts.

There were only 20 beasts left, but Raikou could barely stand. He didn't know what to do.

At that moment, a mammoth rammed into his back and sent him flying. He got up and rushed forward using cloud steps, as he could see the mammoth approaching Ghost.

"Get the fuck away from him!" He impaled the mammoth with his sword and killed it.

Continuous breakthroughs had repelnished his energy, which he had used up. He hoped for another breakthrough from that kill, but nothing came through for him.

He coughed up blood and fell to the ground. The approaching beasts had no sympathy for his situation and continued their advance to Ghost.

Raikou reached over using the last of his strength and grasped the spatial pendant around Ghost's body. Using his spatial affinity, he resonated with the pendant and activated it. He chose to teleport Ghost to the forest they had first met.

He let out a bloody chuckle when he saw Ghost slowly fade away.

"He's safe! Now it's my turn!" Raikou looked over to see the beasts rushing at him with rage.

"Satella, now I owe you twice." He whispered and activated his link to her and teleported to her side.

His body teleported just before the fangs of a snake reached his neck.

The room he had been teleported to was completely void of furniture. It was covered in tiles, on the floor and wall. He rolled over and his eyes went wide.

"AHHHH!" Satella shrieked upon seeing him.

She was on the toilet...

Satella kicked him to make him roll over and cleaned herself up. She was about to kick him again, when she noticed his state.

"What happened to you?" She asked.

"We... were... attacked." He found it difficult to formulate words and starting coughing up blood all over the floor.

The Aurora Light Vest was the only thing preventing him from dying, as it slowly healed him.

Satella picked him up and carried him to a room and placed him on the bed. She began chanting something and a light emanated from her palm. Raikou could feel his body healing up with shocking speed.

Within minutes, his whole body was devoid of any injury.

"That was amazing! You're pretty good with your light element."

Satella smiled at him. "Now that you're healed..." She stopped halfway through her sentence and started kicking him in his gut.

"Hey stop! I couldn't control where I'm teleported. I was in a bad situation and needed to escape."

She stopped after a while, she knew that it wasn't his fault and her kicks didn't have much of her strength behind them. "Ok, now can you tell me what happened?"

Raikou sat up and his face went serious. "As you can see, Ghost isn't with me. He was having a breakthrough to rank 4 and a huge light beam shot up to the sky, which attracted thousands of beasts our way."

"Wait, a light beam? That isn't something that occurs for an ordinary breakthrough to rank 4. That is for breakthroughs to rank 7 and above." Satella's was shocked upon hearing about the phenomenon behind the breakthrough.

(A/N: Can someone count how many times I used the word breakthrough in this chapter, include this one too.)

Raikou shrugged and continued. "He was unable to move, so I had to fend them all of by myself. I killed most of them, but I couldn't muster up any strength towards the end. I teleported him away and then teleported to you right after."

She had so many questions after hearing what he said. "How did you kill so many on your own? How did you teleport him? It's not possible!"

"For your first question, I am just a supreme and badass individual. For your second question, I am badass too!" He stood up and looked to the skies.

Stunned at his answer, she kicked him again and left.

Ding! Pet 'Ghost' has broken through to rank 4.

2 Evolution options have opened up:

- Frost Winged Wolf King: Upgraded version of the original form. Flight and agility is boosted further. Bloodline is strengthened and normal beasts will feel overwhelmed by the presence of the wolf king.

- Frost Winged Wolfman: Transforms pet into a bipedal wolf. Agility is boosted.

Raikou looked at the options and thought it would be hilarious to make Ghost into a wolfman. He picked it and couldn't wait to see the outcome.

"If I become a vampire, we can re-enact Underworld together. Wait... no, that's wrong." He laughed until he remembered that the main vampire was a female.
