43 Onwards To The Cave

He walked in and went straight to the desk. This time, the worker was just the average male. He was nothing like Sleepy, who was quite the peculiar individual.

He handed the card to the worker and sat down. "I've just completed a C-rank escort mission and have come to collect my reward."

The worker looked at the card and checked the system. "Your money will be brought out in abit. Your rank has been upgraded to D rank."

"How do you guys store large amounts of money without any worry for people trying to steal it?" Raikou was curious about the security.

"Only cultivators below rank 7 are interested in gold, and our guild is protected by people strong enough for us to store things of high value."

Raikou nodded and waited for his money to come.

After a while, a man came out with 10 huge gold bars in a sack.

"Each gold bar is worth 1,000 gold. It would be very inconvenient to carry 10,000 coins." They explained.

He took the money and checked the mission board.

Currently there were no missions of interest. There were two missions related to that newly discovered cave, but they required him to give a portion of his findings to the guild. He left the guild in disappointment.

"Let's go to that cave. The girl didn't have much information on it, but we will see what's up once we're there." Raikou looked at Ghost and they left the city.

They ran all the way to the cave in 20 minutes without breaking a sweat.

Upon arrival, they saw hundreds of people waiting outside. Their strengths ranged from rank 3 to peak rank 4's.

Raikou was relieved that there were no rank 5's, he wasn't ready to be attacked by cultivators at that level. He may escape, but Ghost would find it difficult. He was hoping to find a better movement technique in the cave for Ghost to use, therefore making him more comfortable in his ability to kick ass.

He went up to a mage that he saw standing on his own. He seemed pretty approachable and a good target to ask for information.

"Excuse me. Do you know when this cave is opening?"

The man turned around and looked Raikou up and down. "A little boy like you shouldn't be interested anyway. However, I'm a nice person, so I will tell you. People will be allowed entry in two hours. The cave is being protected by the Angleland Royal Academy, so people can only enter at the time they've stated. There is also a restriction on the cave stopping people at rank 5 or above from entering."

Raikou was displeased by his initial words, but thanked him for the information nonetheless.

He inspected the cave to see what was restricting higher ranking cultivators from entering.

Unknown Energy Barrier: Prevents cultivators above rank 4 from passing through it. Will cause them to drop to the mortal level or die if they forcefully pass through.

"Damn. Someone must have had to find that out the hard way." Raikou thought.

He wasn't planning on forcing his way in, as the royal academy here is a whole tier above the Birminfram one. It would be a stupid move on his part if he provoked them unnecessarily just yet.

Of course, offending them after Ghost gets a better movement technique is a different story...

They waited around for 2 hours before the rank 5 cultivators from the academy revealed themselves.

"This is the cave dwelling of a transcendent level expert. There will be many treasures and skills within. We will permit entry to everyone, but you will be required to pass over 60% of your findings within."

"What the fuck! This is a daylight robbery! It is starting to get dark, so technically it's a nighttime robbery..." Raikou thought.

He put his transformation mask on and transformed into his Gerard of Rifia form. Ghost put his on and turned into a extremely small wolf cub.

"This is fucking humiliating. Why do I have to transform into a cub and you get to transform into someone more badass than your original self?" Ghost complained.

Raikou looked offended. "First of all, you little shit! I am way more badass in my original form than this one. Second, this way I can put you on shoulders and we are more covert."

Ghost grumbled and hopped on his shoulders.

Raikou walked forward and he was granted entry into the cave.

"Time to cause some fucking mayhem!" Raikou laughed.

He was looking forward to it. He could find weapons to feed to his evolving sword, and he could find some cool skills for himself and Ghost.

Within moments of stepping in he felt a bloodlust aimed towards him. He withdrew his sword and split the arrow coming towards him in half.

"Hey little shit, what's your problem?" Raikou saw a woman dressed in grey leather approaching with her bow aimed at him.

She had a eerie smile on her face. She licked her lips and replied, "Well, I just wanted to reduce the competition, and a piddling rank 3 cultivator is basically target practise."

Raikou couldn't be bothered with her and instantly beheaded her.

"Silly bitches trying to fuck with the great Raikou!" He removed her spatial ring and left.

This was the first spatial ring he had found, the brothers that he had killed were abit poor for their rank. He inspected it to see the properties.

Name: Spatial Ring

Quality: Spiritual 1st Level

Description: Made using spatial magic. Can store items up to 10 cubic meters. (A/N: Couldn't find the little 2 and 3 symbols.)

The spatial ring was the lowest of it's class. It was useless to Raikou, but there were a few weapons within. He passed the ring to Ghost and checked the contents. He found 2 swords, a staff and an axe. She probably killed people before Raikou.

The weapons were all pretty high in quality. All of them were at the peak of the mortal grade.

He fed the first one to his sword and it raised to the 6th grade. The second took it to the 8th grade. The last two brought it to the peak.

Name: Metal Longsword (Evolvable)

Quality: Mortal Grade 9th grade.

Effect: When used +16 Agility, +12 Strength. +8 Intellect. +8 Wisdom.

He was pleased, as the sword absorbed all the stat boosts of all weapons it ate, making it extremely amazing. Most weapons only boost one stat, and 2 or 3 would be extremely difficult to find. However, his sword would take in the useful effects of any weapon it ate.

"Your sword will go through a great evolution everytime it goes through to a new grade. Once you get to the spiritual grade, your sword will start taking in other effects on top of stat boosts." The system explained.

Raikou was pleased with the benefits he had acquired this early on in the exploration. He simply had to kill a silly woman and he got his sword up to the peak of the mortal grade.

He probably needed weapons above the mortal grade to help it's great evolution to the spiritual grade.

Rubbing his hands together, he anticipated more people attacking him in this cave and it excited him greatly.
