49 Maria

"Come with me. Let's talk in private." Maria got off her throne and directed him to a vacant sideroom.

Raikou and Satella followed her in.

"Not you, just him." Maria stopped her daughter.

She reluctantly left the room. Raikou felt uneasy being in a room with Maria. This was someone who could kill him easily, and he didn't like the feeling of being this vulnerable.

"So... What is it that you want from me exactly?" He was curious to see what someone like her had in store for him.

"Stop being so nervous. If I wanted to hurt you, then you wouldn't be here right now." Maria could feel the tension within him.

She sat down and crossed her legs. "I need you to do something for me. You're pretty resourceful from what I heard, and even now I can't see through you. You'd be perfect for the job."

"What job?" He didn't like her implicit method of speech.

"I want you to get something for me. The Albion Kingdom has something in their royal academy. Something that I need. An orb that will allow me to see the location of any person I want. It is called a Haldir."

"What makes you think I can get it for you?"

"I see something in you. Well, even if you fail, it won't affect me in anyway." Maria didn't have the same warm feeling that he felt from Satela, she was much scarier.

"It will be difficult."

After hearing his attempts to refuse, her smile froze and she let out her energy. "I will not take no for answer."

He raised his hands as surrender. "Fine, fine. I'll do it."

She was surprised to see him standing casually under her energy suppression. After hearing his words, her smile came back and she replied sweetly, "Now that's a good boy. You can stay for a day, and then you have to leave. The academy holds their selection in a day, but with my help you can get there instantly."

He nodded and left the room. "Crazy bitch. I assumed saving her life would make her less fucking scary. I'm going to spank her next time I am here. Such a stupid plan from someone that old. I could reveal her identity if I get caught, did she not account for such things." Raikou was angered by her actions and was also shocked by how lacksidaisical her approach on planning for this was.

Satella had a worried look on her face upon seeing his anger. "What did she do?"

"She's forcing me to get something for her from the highest ranking kingdom in Idril." He had cooled down by this point, but had decided to kick her ass in the future.

"I'm sorry, I thought that would go better."

"It's not your fault." He walked away from her without ending the conversation.

Satella looked quite sad after seeing him walk away. She feared he would blame her for what her mother did.

Ghost had spent 2 hours getting accustomed to his new body. The whole bipedal thing was extremely new for him and would make everything very inconvenient for him in the future.

"Let me find him! I will use my new long legs to shove my foot up his ass!" Ghost was walking around the forest practising and complaining about Raikou.

"WHO DARES ENTER MY TERRITORY!" At that moment, Ghost heard a towering voice directed at him.

"It's probably that shitty 'overlord' I was once scared of."

When Ghost lived in this forest, there was a rank 4 beast that towered over everyone else. All beasts would cower in it's presence, including Ghost.

"Hmph, I am not the same wolf I was back then." He jumped onto a tree and balanced on a branch. "Shitty overlord, come here!"

A huge fire albatross came flying down breathing fire onto the tree Ghost was on.

Ghost's wings were now retractable and he had them hidden. He pounced up before the tree broke down and let his wings out. "You're only at the 6th level. You dare attack a mighty wolf! In the past I was an underling, now I am your reckoning!"

The albatross sneered, "You're barely in the 4th rank and you dare defy me! I will give you a chance. Become my underling and you can enjoy a status higher than all, but me."

(A/N: Imagine an albatross sneering. It's quite the sight.)

Ghost laughed at his proposal. He howled and flew at full speed towards the overlord. WIth the evolution, his flying and moving speed had exceeded the effects given by any skill below rank A.

Using his claws, he ripped off the albatross' wings.

"Now you're below me! I was nice enough to leave you while I practised with my new body, but you wanted to show me who the most powerful is. IT'S ME, NOT YOU!"

He slashed at the bird's throat and walked away.

"Raikou's really rubbing off on me. All that screaming... The slash at the end has got me covered in blood, but I did feel cool! Now I understand why he does it." Ghost laughed and went to find a river to clean up in.
