58 Is That A Demon?

Raikou had thought it over and he decided to find Moses after he wrapped up the more important things going on in his life right now. The fiendgod's task had been placed at the back of his priority list currently.

His first priority was getting out and hoping the system wakes up. Along with that, he needs to find Ghost. He didn't want to admit it, but he was missing his companion greatly.

(A/N: Awwww, how cute.)

There were still a few days left in this dimension and Raikou wanted to make the most of it. The situation with the darkness element hadn't been solved, so he wanted to go and kill as many beasts as possible before time runs out here.

Pulling out his sword, he looked forward and shouted, "Who wants some of this? I'm coming!"

3 days later...

Ding! Darkness affinity has upgraded to [Highest]

Raikou laughed.

He had spent the last 3 days mindlessly slaughtering every beast that crossed his path. The affinity meter as he called it was slowly going up, until he finally maxed it out and he received the notification.

The particles of darkness around him felt more surreal than before, as if he could touch them. He hadn't encountered this previously even with his perfect affinities in elements, as there was never such a dense amount of any element in one place that he had frequented.

All around him. The darkness surrounded him, as if beckoning him to accept them.

He sat down and got into the lotus position. The darkness particles slowly entered his body and he could feel something rising within. It was an overwhelming feeling.

"Come..." A voice whispered to him. "Come..." It repeated the words and Raikou could feel a pull that made him want to follow the origin of the voice.

"What is that?" He tried to resist the pull, but it was too strong. Withdrawing his sword, he used void and slashed in the direction of the voice. A snap was heard, as if a thread had been cut using his magic. The pull effect disappeared instantly.

A creature, doubling Raikou in height came out of the darkness. It didn't have a proper form. It's ethereal body was cloaked by the particles and all that Raikou could see were two green eyes staring at him.

Using inspection, he obtained some information.

The darkness slowly unravelled to reveal a visage that Raikou could gaze upon. "Oh my, that is the sexiest thing I have ever seen!"

The Aswang standing in front of him had revealed itself to be a mirror version of Raikou in appearance. Everything was the same, even the cultivation and weapons.

"A shapeshifting creature? This doesn't feel anything like a beast. Wait! Is that a demon?" Raikou exclaimed.

He hoped that the stats on the Aswang did not rival that of his,if it did, then this would be a difficult battle.

The Aswang walked up to him and smiled. Pulling out it's sword, it lunged at him.

Raikou was shocked by the speed of the attack. It was an issue for him, as it displayed that the demon could mirror his stats.

"Right then, you may be able to mirror my stats, but you can't mimic by badassery!" He attacked with all his might.

The fight continued for 5 minutes at a stalemate and Raikou didn't know what to do. Everything he did, the Aswang could also do.

He suddenly recalled a memory from his first life. "I saw it in my favourite anime. Mirror copies of the characters had to be fought. They won by improving during the battle!" With his new realisation, he went back into battle and concentrated on every move he made to improve upon it.

Ding! Observation has broken through to Transcendence!

At transcendence, he was able to see the complete stat page of the target. This was exciting for Raikou, as he could finally see the value of his stats compared to the usual cultivator.

The increase in stats gave him a slight edge over the Aswang, but it wasn't enough to help him win. Luckily for him, the continuous battling allowed him to refine the usage of all his skills. He could feel an imminent breakthrough in cloud slashes and his sword mastery.

Ding! Cloud Slashes has broken through to Transcendence!

(A/N: The stat boost should match cloud steps, but I don't really remember how much I gave him for reaching transcendence in that...)

The feeling was amazing! He was having continuous breakthroughs in his skills and he could feel that he was at the mid level of the Sword Grandmaster stage.

"Right then! You sexy demon, come here and get this pipe!" His usage of cloud slashes reached a whole new level and with one attack, the Aswang was killed.
