29 Exiting The Trial

Raikou looked at his companion and he was satisfied with the transformation. He was happy to see his friend advance, and it would be a great boon to their future endeavours.

Name: Ghost

Cultivation: Rank 3 1st Level

Species: Frost Winged Wolf

Average Stats: 150 (Agility and Intelligence Dominant)

Raikou was impressed. Ghost's stats were extremely high for an early rank 3. It was probably due to them being linked and the evolution. Of course, the stats were still lower than his. Raikou smiled and struck a ginyu force pose. (A/N:The Recoome Pose, look it up you silly children.)

"Hey Ghost, can you put those wings away? Walking around with two 1m wings is quite inconvenient!" Raikou asked.

"Yeah I can try, it will take a while though. I tried all sorts of methods to retract them. One of the methods nearly made me shit myself!" Ghost exclaimed.

Raikou laughed at his troubles and suggested. "They're completely attached to your body. Have you thought about using them like limbs." Raikou demonstrated by putting his arms into inside his clothes, so that he was walking around with his sleeves flailing about.

Ghost looked at him and tried it. Instantly, the wings retracted.

They both laughed. "What can I say, I'm just too damn awesome. I even make beasts look inferior in their own domains!"

Ghost stopped laughing. "You ruined a good moment with your bullshit."

Raikou looked at him and smiled. "There's only a few hours left in this trial. I only need 30,000 more xp to get to the 9th level. That's equivalent to three early rank 3 beasts! Maybe, I should kill you as a starter." He rubbed his hands together and walked towards Ghost.

"If you don't want to die a virgin, then I suggest you don't take another step."

Raikou felt something poke his ass, and looked to see an ice spear trying to gain entrance. He jumped up and covered his asshole. "Motherfucker I was joking! You can't molest me over a joke!" Raikou screamed.

"HAHA! That'll teach you to fuck with me!" Ghost replied.

Raikou groaned and walked away with Ghost in tow.

They spent the next few hours killing a few more beasts, this time only killing those who attacked first. Raikou was trying to get out of the mentality that beasts are different from humans. With Ghost at his side, he felt that he should be able to understand that they're sentient beings like him.

He looked down at his token to see '1498' on it. The rank 4 tiger had given him 500 points making his total grow alot. After that they had amassed another 400 or so points from killing beasts.

Raikou felt like he was close to breaking through to rank 3. He checked his cultivation bar and was surprised.

Cultivation: Rank 2 Soldier - 9th Level (50,000/50,000)

(A/N: No point posting the whole stat page, when I've already done that in the previous chapter.)

"Hey system! If I have maxed the xp for rank 2, then why haven't I broken through?" Raikou asked.

"Your breakthrough to rank 2 was abit special, as you had come out of a life threatening battle and I had just evolved. Whereas this was all normal xp grinding. You're going to need to cultivate like a normal human to breakthrough the barrier of rank 3."

Raikou was enlightened. He forgot what the system had told him when he entered this world. He decided to wait till after the battle assessment to breakthrough. It would cause a commotion if he did it now and they only had a few minutes left in the trial.

"Ghost, let's go!" They walked towards the forest exit and saw a really small group of people on the other side.

"Seems alot of people died in there..." Raikou muttered.

He reported his name and waited for the trial to officially end.

"Everybody, bring your tokens to the stage when your name is called out!"

Raikou saw many people go up. Some were on their own by the end of the trial, and some lucky people returned with their whole group.

Not one person had more than 1000 points. The limit on the trial entry was rank 3, and most rank 3 humans were weaker than their beast equivalents. They would require their whole team to work together just to kill one or two. Not everyone was like Raikou.

Raikou, Ghost and Sugondese' names were called out. He went up to the stage and displayed the number on his token. '1495'. The crowd was in disbelief.

"Not possible! A group like that can't kill that many beasts! He's a little shit and that beast is at the lowest level of rank 3." One rank 3 man called out. He seemed to be the strongest in the group of people left.

"You fucker! Enough clammering. The number on the token is all that is needed. I don't have to prove myself to you little shits." Raikou laughed.

The whole crowd went crazy. "Come down here and say that shit you bastard!"

Raikou leapt off the stage and punched their 'leader' in the face. He went flying back into the crowd, taking another 4 people down with him.

The group retreated at his strength. They believed they could take him with their group, but it was unnecessary. The argument was over the token number, but they were able to believe it after seeing that punch.

"Now then! Organisers, what is the reward for being no.1?" Raikou turned around and walked back to the stage.

"First Place receives 500gold! Second gets 250 and 100 for third!" The organiser replied.

"What a shitty prize!" Raikou thought. "Then again, I was in need of money."

As he was thinking that, he heard a ding!

Hidden Quest Completed! Achieve first place in the trial.

Reward: Transformation Mask x2 - Allows you to transform into anything. Limited to your own species and gender. Can be seen through by Transcendent experts.

(A/N: Ahem, it was only 'hidden', because I forgot to set a quest when he heard about the trial...)

"This is fucking great. Ghost and I can do some real good shit with this!" Raikou was satisfied with the reward he received from the system.
