Raikou was walking, when he suddenly saw a feathered serpent.
"Is that the fabled quatzalcoatl that I read about?!" He was curious to see whether or not his prediction was accurate, so he inspected it.

Species: Quatzal (?)
It was within the parameters of Raikou's strength, which made him more secure in approaching it. The question mark next to the species made him curious, and on top of that, the species itself was missing the 'coatl' part, thus making it an incomplete version. He was disappointed.
"System, you haven't really said anything in a while." Raikou expected the system to explain the situation with the creature, but it was completely silent.
"..." He received no response, which worried him greatly. Checking his soul, he was relieved to feel the system's presence within him, but it was currently dormant and not responding to any calls.
Although he was worried, there was nothing he could do, and would have to wait to see what developments happen after he leaves this unknown dimension.
He felt naked without the system's help and was alone for the first time in this life. "This feels weird and somewhat scary."
His thoughts were in turmoil and he was truly unsure of how to proceed on his own. The method of action was clear to him, but without a companion, he did not feel as secure mentally to motivate himself to do anything.
"No! You will not be weak again. That has got your family killed and your friends on the verge of death." Raikou smacked his head of a nearby wall until he bled and talked himself out of his own self-deprecating thoughts. Weakness was something he wanted to avoid at all costs, which could only be avoided through never stopping or giving up.
With new resolve, he looked up and settled his heart. By this point, the Quatzal had been alerted to Raikou's presence through all the commotion from before. It's eyes fixed onto him as it slowly slithered towards him.
"Hmph. I was distracted for a second, which made you think you could come for me! I will show you who is your daddy today!" He reverted back to his normal self in a method to coax himself out of feeling the loneliness that was slowly trying to invade his mind.
With a quick slash, the serpent's head flew straight off. The attack was cruder than his usual methods, which caused blood to spurt all over his face from the body of Hiss Bish.
Wiping it off, he waited for the experience points to come in to no avail. His eyebrows furrowed as he checked his experience bar, which hadn't budged.
"System, why am I not receiving..." His voice trailed off, as he remembered that the system wasn't with him currently.
He decided to check for himself, which wasn't something he had to do before.
"Maybe this was what the system was referring to when it omitted information from me in the skill descriptions." Feeling the pressure, he sat down and exhaled.
He sensed around him and within until he found what was different.
His affinity to darkness had gone up a bit, and on top of that, he could feel some other familiarity to darkness, which was unrelated to the affinity itself.
Raikou got up and smiled. Experience points could be acquired at any moment, but an opportunity like this did not come too often.
Dusting off his clothes, he pulled out his sword and ran like a madman. "Little dark bitches, where are you? Daddy wants some more of that good good!" He licked his lips and shouted out several times.
It seemed that the (?) by the species was linked to the darkness element, which had been absorbed by the beasts. It may have something to do with the presence of demons.
Within minutes, Raikou had found atleast 5 beasts, which he slaughtered with minimal difficulty. The increase in affinity and that 'pecularity' had increased, but only by small increments. He realised that he would have to kill beasts at the Elder Rank to get better results.
His current ability allowed him to fight against beasts under the 4th level of the 5th rank of cultivation. Anything higher would be dangerous for him at his current level.

Ghost had advanced closer towards the signal and was currently closing in on a town, which resided next to a city, which was near a middle ranked kingdom called Angleland. It was a silly situation geographically and didn't make much sense in any way to have these areas so close to each other.
(A/N: Someone said they don't like my little notes in between chapters. So I decided to say Hi!)
He decided to take a break in the town and cool off.
Even as a beast, he had to take breaks. The constant running wasn't something a human could accomplish, but beasts were much more versatile to their human counterparts.
"I'm going to try one of those special spas that I saw in the Agar Town, but Raikou didn't want to go in and AAGH. Why am I mentioning him! He needs an ass whooping from me and he will get one soon enough." Ghost's thoughts got put into disarray after thinking about Raikou's weird circumstances and he tried to mask the worry in his heart.
He walked into a spa and took his clothes off.
"Sir! You must pay first and then change in the private rooms!" One of the female attendees covered her eyes with disgust and stopped him from stripping completely.
Ghost had forgot about all that, as Raikou would usually be the one in charge.
He scratched his head and replied, "My bad!"

Raikou sneezed.
"Even in these times of adversity, there are still people thinking of me. Praise to those who are giving me well wishes. I send good karma your way!" Raikou smiled and praised the 'well wishers', while pretending to be a sagely character.
Suddenly, blood spurted out of a bull and covered his clothes. "Dammit! Couldn't you be a bit more polite! I was thinking!" He cleaned his body and sword, leaving the area.
