39 Attacked

They had been on the road for 3 days already. The whole journey was estimated to take a month, due to the next capital city being far away. Even this was impressive to Raikou, as the horses used to pull these wagons are much stronger than normal horses. They could move the wagon at a speed of 50 miles per hour at full speed. Normal horses can't go that fast on their own, let alone while pulling a huge wagon.

Raikou used this journey to cultivate like the average person, and was also taking in the scenery of Idril. It fascinated him how different this place is compared to Earth.

Everything was greener here in the forests they would drive past. Earth's nature was getting worse by the day, due to the effect of selfish humans. Huge companies would dump their waste incorrectly and ruin the sea, other parts of nature and it's inhabitants.

Raikou stuck his head out of the window and felt the wind blow past his face. It was an exhilarating feeling of freedom.

"I want to be powerful enough to feel these winds on foot without a skill." Raikou's current max speed without a skill was around 20 miles per hour. He had tested it and it seems that 100 agility is equivalent to 10 miles per hour. He had truly underestimated the stat increase he was getting from these skills. SSS rank methods truly live up to their name.

From what he had learnt from Bri, one would have to be exceptional and around the higher levels of rank 5 to achieve speeds similar to 20 miles per hour just by running. And that is just a rank 5. Cultivators enter a whole other realm of being once they break through to rank 7, which made Raikou wonder how spectacular one at that level would be.

Currently, his only goal was to reach rank 4. Rank 4 and 7 give qualitative changes to a cultivator, and it excited him to think about meeting both of those goals. Through normal cultivation, he had reached the 2nd level of rank in 3 days, which would've been done easily if he was hunting.

"Absorbing energy is so boring and slow... I feel bad for all these people around me. They don't have a kickass system like me!"

"Ah stop it." The system replied bashfully.

Raikou was about to respond when the wagon stopped abruptly. The force of it stopping like that had flung everyone inside the wagon forward and the goods came crashing onto them. Luckily, they're all cultivators and it did no damage to them whatsoever.

"FUCKS SAKE!" Raikou heard Ghost screaming and looked over to see him covered in straw from one of the boxes.

Raikou laughed uproariously, "You look like a fucking idiot!"

Ghost leapt towards him and bit him in the ass.

"You two! We need to go check what the problem is! Stop your quabbling and exit the wagon." Bri shouted at them after seeing their behaviour.

They both hung their heads low in false shame and left the carriage. "Sir yes sir!" They saluted Bri on the way out. Well Raikou did atleast. Ghost just raised his paw in the air, it looked quite cute on such a big wolf.

Raikou looked and saw that the wagon in front of them had been completely destroyed from the front. It had been completely dented inwards from the front and Gio the fat man's clothes were all dishevelled. The brothers were both completely fine, but they looked pissed off.

He saw them both pull out their maces and pounce forward.

"What are they pouncing at? Shouldn't they inform us first..." Raikou complained.

"In their eyes, we're both weaker than them and would just be a hindrance in battle." Bri explained.

Raikou went forward to see what they were attacking. There were 3 bison with completely black fur. Their horns were nearly a meter high and curled at the top. To top off the menacing look, their eyes were red and they were charging at the brothers.

"They want to fight alone, let's let them." Raikou smirked and watched the fight.

He knew the brothers would get their asses handed to them. All 5 of them were at the mid levels of rank 4, however the beasts had numbers on their side. On top of that, beasts were usually stronger than humans at the same level.

To his surprise, the brothers were stronger than he had thought. They were holding their own for now atleast.

He waited for them to injure one of the bison, and then ran forward beheading the injured bison.

"So that's why their eyes are permanently red. They're always angry!" Raikou found the name of the bison pretty humorous.

"You stole our kill!" Hames snarled.

"I'm just helping. You looked like you were in trouble." Raikou winked at him and stabbed at the other bison that was being distracted by Rodriguez.

Both brothers were extremely pissed off at him. He had placed both bison into his inventory and walked away. He was now strong enough to show his spatial storage.

"Right boys, I'm sure you can deal with the last one on your own." Raikou laughed at their displeasure.

"They're not going to be willing to cooperate efficiently with us anymore. I was able to stop them once, but it won't happen twice. You're going to have to watch your back for the rest of this trip. They're known for being extremely temperamental, and you just pissed them off!" Bri warned.

"Ehhh, it's not like they would've played nice anyways. Those were the easiest kills ever, so I couldn't let the opportunity pass." Raikou replied.

"Our plans will have to change for now. We will be entering the nearest city, so that I can purchase a new wagon and fix all other damages." Gio wanted them to go the city they had passed 5miles back. That would mean they would all have to sit in the same wagon, and the speed would be even slower, as the horses would have to carry the weight of two wagons.

The horses carrying the front wagon were given to the brothers to ride on. "Well atleast they won't be in here with us to cause trouble." Bri remarked.

"I know... I'm quite disappointed." Raikou wanted them to be with him. He enjoyed annoying the two ogres.

"So what happened?" Ghost asked lazily.

"You little shit. You didn't even leave the wagon with me! I thought you were right behind me. What if those bison killed me?"

Ghost rolled his eyes, "Oh please, I know your strength. You could've killed them all on your own. Of course not with ease."

Bri and Gio heard him talking to Ghost and laughed at his shamelessness. He barely involved himself in that fight, leaving all the heavy lifting to the brothers.

"Onwards to that town! Whatever it's name is!" Raikou screamed.
