11 A Month Later...
"System, show me my stats. I want to see my improvements after all that."

"It's good, but not good enough. That guy had Hodge in his name, his dad is probably the city lord. This city is really weak, but he must be around the higher levels of rank 2."
As part of his MC luck, Raikou went to check if there were any recruitment events occurring and he heard that the Birminfram Royal Academy is sending over emissaries to all the cities to see if there any good seeds. There's going to be a selection event in a month.
"This MC luck is so good! I can predict what kind of things will happen as part of a cliche storyline. If you offend an arrogant young master, he will try to kill you. If you offend him at the start of the story, then he will try to kill you at an event of sorts. So obvious..." Raikou laughed.
He also understood that strength is key and began cultivating.
A month later...
A man and his wolf were sparring. The wolf seemed to be on the losing end of the spar.
"Haha. Ghost, your always getting thrashed by me these days."
Ghost growled and walked away.
Raikou had spent this whole month in a training montage. It was boring to see, so it was skipped. (A/N: Hehe)
"The emissary will arrive tomorrow, let's go back to the hotel and rest."
On the way to the hotel, Raikou bumped into a man who looked at him with annoyance. It was Victor.
"Watch where you're going." Victor wasn't as haughty as he usually would be, he kept looking at Ghost. He was wary of the 'Ice' wolf, thinking it was a rank 2 beast. Of course, he still had some arrogance as his daddy was a top dog of rank 2.
"You're the one that bumped into me, kiss my ass."
Victor's face reddened from anger, but he walked away.
"Tsk, these young masters are the same as those from the novels. Scared of people stronger and trample of those weaker. I really had to hold back from taking my mask off to see his reaction."
Raikou inspected Victor as he walked away to see that he had broken through to the 9th level of rank 1. It would've impressed him if he wasn't so OP.
"Only one level of improvement, no one can match up to the sexy overlord Raikou." He laughed to himself.
They returned back to the hotel and Raikou looked at his stats.

After training for this month, his cultivation had increased by 2 levels making his body much stronger. Both his fiendgod body refining method brokethrough and his observation skill. He was now able to see the cultivation of people 2 ranks higher, luckily he hasn't had to test it yet. The breakthrough of his fiendgod skill gave him a further improvement of +8 Strength +10 Agility +10 Toughness.
Ghost had also improved the mastery of bite and scratch to absolution. On top of that he had learned a wind related movement ability called wind walker. It confused them both how an ice attributed dire wolf can learn wind skills, until the system explained that the lifeblood contract has given it the ability to learn all abilities like Raikou. However, the skills will be weaker than that of his main ice affinity.
(A/N: Ghost's stat page would've been boring as he can't increase his cultivation yet, so I shoved all his improvements into one messy paragraph. I will fix the same realm limit soon.)
Raikou was confident that with his current body, even ordinary soldier level experts couldn't defeat him. Though, he couldn't defeat them either.
"My progress is great, but I am still annoyed that the system hasn't given any combat skills as a quest reward in this month."
"There is a reason for that and I have told you already. Your punches are already stronger than that of an ordinary D rank skill. The system has to evolve to get rewards above that level. The SSS rank skill was a gift, like a starter pack from games. It ensured that your foundation is extremely solid to enter Rank 2, it will lose most of it's effectiveness after that." The system replied.
"I know all that, but how do I evolve the system." he said with frustration.
"As I sai..." The system replied before Raikou interrupted him. "Yeah yeah, I know. It's a 'hidden requirement'. Just let me monologue about how hard life is without you interrupting." He let out crocodile tears and slumped backwards on the bed.
Ghost decided to give some input too. "You think it's hard for you? Until he evolves and makes the realm limit of your pets higher, I won't be able to breakthrough until you do. That's annoying even if you cultivate inhumanely fast."
Raikou ignored all the bashing and focused on the last part. "Why thank you, I am great after all!"
"..."
"Fuck off." Ghost replied.
"How rude." Raikou pretended to be offended and went to sleep.
