2 Our Daily Routine
I work in a small apartment store as I just workaround in restocking the items in the store, managing the cashier, before cleaning it up when I'm about to go home. all into a little cycle that always repeats but that's fine with me
"hey, Ken" my manager called out to me while I was restocking some potato chips into an aisle. I turn to look at him as my manager is a middle-aged man who goes by the name Ban, he looks gruff and all but he's nice once you get to know him
"yes, sir?" i replied to him while standing up straight as a sign of respect to my superior or senior in the apartment store
"I'm going to close the store early today, i got a meeting with some board directors about a new product charge distribution," Ban told me as i just nodded in reply "I'll be going off first. in the meantime, manage the store for a few hours"
"alright" i replied as even though it's a pain to do it alone, i got used to it much after working here for 3 years.
the day soon turned dark as i was cleaning the store while greeting some customers who come in and go with some stuff from the store.
"it's almost time, huh?" I said as I looked at the clock on the wall. i head to the front door as I flip the open sign to close before it went and start cleaning the store's floor while my manager went to the cashier to start counting the money before saving it at the store's back office
"hey, Ken" Ban called out to me as i look at his direction before i catch a bag of lollipop thrown at me "it's the usual, right?"
"yeah" i replied as i reached for my wallet to pay but Ban holds a hand and shakes his head
"it's on the house for now" Ban told me with a smile "you always liked to buy this ever since you start working here, right?"
"yeah, i did" I replied as this bag of lollipops is Miruko's favorite snack that always makes her have a happy smile here and there
"you have one heck of a sweet tooth, don't you?" Ban said as he continued counting the money from the cashier before stacking them away to the back office
"maybe" I replied as I only eat the lollipop once a week while Miruko eats it every time she wants but I didn't mind at all
time goes by fast as i bid my manager goodbye before i went home
i hold a plastic bag filled with some instant noodle and the bag of lollipop from the store as i tend to buy dinner after i work and go home. i just walk and walk on the street before a couple of people ran past me scared and frightened to death
"wow, she must be having a good mood tonight" I said as I watched the frightened people who were running scared to downtown
i continued walking before i see Miruko standing in front of two police officers who were looking a bit frightened and before long they ran scared when Miruko took off her mask to reveal her slitted and ripped mouth that could scare anyone but not me.
"as usual" i said as i walked to Miruko who was giggling after scaring the police officers
"that's a good nightmare" Miruko said as she covered her mouth with her mask after scaring the two poor police officers away, soon she turned and sees me "why are you here?"
"my manager decided to close the store early today, so i get to go home early" i replied while patting her head as my hand was soon swatted away by Miruko
"don't get so cozy with me" Miruko said as she turns away to face the other direction "it's not like I'm happy that you get to go home early"
"what a tsun" i muttered out as Miruko never said any good things but i know that it's just her way of expressing her happiness and her other emotions. i reached into the plastic bag that i carried as i took out the bag of lollipops "here, i got this for you"
Miruko looks at me before to the bag as she grabs it before ripping it open and takes a lollipop before plopping it into her mouth after pulling down her mask. her reaction was like a 5 year old getting candy as she would just enjoy the sweet and delectable flavor no matter how many candies she had ate
"come on" i said as i hold her hand "let's go home"
we started walking away from the street as this was our daily routine, i work on my job, she work on her job, before we both go home together
we soon got back home as i shared my room with Miruko who is like a freeloader but i didn't care at all
"do you always eat instant noodle at night?" Miruko asked while sucking on a lollipop and reading a girls' magazine on the bed
"yeah, i don't know how to cook anything else after all" i replied while i watched the instant noodle boil in the pot of water "maybe you could cook me sometimes"
"why do i want to do that?" Miruko replied as she flips the page of the magazine she reads while sucking on her lollipop
"yeah, i knew you would say that" i replied as i grab the instant noodles' seasoning and poured them into the pot, making the water go yellow
our daily routine that always goes on and on every day, but i didn't mind one bit because i get to be with Miruko, my one and only friend in the whole world
the next day came as i woke up from the sound of my alarm ringing. i groaned as i sat on my bed while i scratched my head and then yawned
"hurry up and get dressed, you got work to do, right?" Miruko said while in my kitchen and she seems to be cooking right now
"yeah" i said as i look at her with a smile
"w-what?" Miruko said while looking away as she focus on cooking
"what a tsun you are" i said with a smile as i get out of bed before going to give her a hug
"l-let me go! don't get the wrong idea you!" Miruko exclaimed while blushing as i knew how adorable she is with her Tsundere personality
