6 calming storm

When I finally declared him okay the girls had woken up, at first scared of him, but then I told them that he was a friend of mine, and that he would not hurt them. We stayed in their room until the bell rang declaring the king dead, surprisingly the girls also knew what that bell meant and they started crying. I felt bad knowing I was partially to blame for the tears they now shed, but it was for the greater good, or so I hoped it was.

We walked out of the room the girls clinging to me, for I was now the only familiar face near. I looked at Cedric and since he could hear me without words once more he just shook his head. The queen was also dead, I figured she would have gone down fighting for her husband, since she was known to fight side by side with him during war times, it was even rumored that she was fighting by his side even when heavily pregnant with the youngest princess.

I held onto the girls and walked them away from where Cedric warned me the bodies were.

usually where you saw no forest folk you now saw many, some acting as guards, other helping non forest folk get use to us and some just flying or walking about.
