2 Finishing My First Quest

When the messages died out, the only thing that remained was the player voices they all were frustrated, some yelled out, other cursed and others ran out of the town with excited faces, every player showed a different reaction. As for Dro he just slowly took a deep breath.

Dro tried to open the menu and to look at his character stats. How to do it he read in the instruction manual, it was really simple he just had to place hand in front of him and clench it, doing this, the menu would be called.

But when he extended his fist and clasped it, someone ran straight into it. The person staggered as he fell on to the ground.

The person yelled, "What is wrong with you?"

"I am sorry."

"Why did you even put your fist there?"

"Umm sorry, I was opening the menu."

The youth, stood up as he dusted his buttocks from any dust. Then he looked at Dro.

"It was my fault for running into your fist then, my apologies," The youth apologised.

"Since we met like this, I feel like it is destiny... I decided I will add you to my friends, list." The youth stated.

After saying those words Dro saw a popup message <Pert want's to add you as a friend> and below the message, there were two boxes <Accept, Decline> Dro extended his finger and clicked on accept button.

After that, a new message popped up in his view <Pert was added to your friend list>

"Thank you, Pert, for adding me as your friend. What are you going to do now?"

"I am going to find my friends, see you later Dro"

"See you, Pert."

Dro looked at the direction the youth left, and when he completely left the horizon, Dro once again opened the menu. From there he chose character screen. Information was displayed in a new window.

<Human, Warrior, Level 1>

[Human? I couldn't even select my race]

[So these are my stats. Because I chose warrior I have more strength? That makes sense]

[Time to get started]

[I played the games these past two years and they were all MMORPG games]

Looking around he noticed that he was the only player left in the city.

[I should go outside of the village] Though Dro.

Dro went outside of the village, and there he spotted an NPC it had a yellow marker above his head.

[Quest Giver? Let's see what he has] Thought Dro.

Moving closer he spoke, "Hello there can I help you with anything?"

[These NPC each has their own unique AI, so they are like real people]

[Well that is what the DEV's said anyway]

"Oh adventurer, of course, you can help me, can you please kill 10 boars?"

"Certainly"

The quest marker went from yellow to grey, it symbolised that Dro has accepted the quest.

[Easy enough]

[Let's do this]

Dro walked further and found the boar, but they were being slaughtered by the other players. The monsters in this world worked on an agro system first person who pulls get's the full credit for the monster but if other people join in the fight they will still get the credit and part of the XP. It was a very good system.

Dro joined in and got ten boars really fast, with the assistance of other players around him. It didn't even take him ten minutes to kill the required monsters.

When he returned back to the quest giver he got a follow-up quest,

"Adventurer I thank you for assisting me in this task of cleaning up. But looking at you more closely you really are shabby looking, these warriors are all the same meatheads. Listen here young man, go back to the city and train some skills. This should be enough for you to learn a thing or two."

Dro got his rewards from the quest and his next job was to return back to the city and seek out the training.

Dro shook his head one more time before going back to the city, he soon found the location his instructor resided in. Going inside the building, he saw a man with bare chest and a large weapon. When the NPC saw Dro arriving in he immediately said, "Come come, young warrior."

[Is this some kind of even triggered by entering the building for the first time?]

But Dro still said loudly, "Hello instructor I would like to train some skills"

But the instructor frowned as he asked, "What is that you holding in your hand?"

"Umm, its a sword" Answered Dro.

"You imbecile, warriors need to have axes" Snapped the man.

Dro frowned as he said, "I want to use a sword as my primary weapon"

"You ignorant youth, you are not fit to become a warrior"

The instructor continued, "From this moment don't dare to come to any warrior training halls"

[What?]

[I lost my class?]

Dro left the warrior training hall and he opened his character panel

<Skills: None>

[What now?]

[Hmm?]

[Can I take other jobs?]

[I should try]

[But where are the other class training halls]

[I should contact my new friend, maybe he can help me]

Dro accessed the menu click friends and when he found him he pressed call. After the call connected Dro spoke, "Fert I encountered a problem."

"What problem my new friend has?"

"Uhm, I lost my class," Dro said slightly embarrassed.

The silence filled the air, as Fert didn't react for a while.

Then Dro heart laughter, after a while Pert said, "You lost your class? How the hell does one loses his class?"

"Well", Then after explaining the events Pert said, "I will cover over with my friends we will show you the other class training halls locations."

"Thanks, Pert."

Dro sat down and started waiting, after 30 minutes. He saw Pert approaching with a group of people soon they were all grouped up. After seeing Dro, Pert laughed and said,

"Before we start with your issue I want to introduce you, my friends go on introduce yourselves."

There were three more people that arrived with Pert there were two guys and one girl. The girl was the first one to speak up,

"Hello my name is Kyoko and I am a Paladin."

"My name is John I am Hunter."

"My name is Rok and I am Warrior."

After everyone introduced themselves Pert started speaking, "So I told everyone that you lost your class."

When Pert said that Dro lost his job they all started laughing like crazy, Dro just waited it out and spoke, "Can we go to other training halls now?"

[What a joke unlucky in real life no job]

[And now I have no class]

[This can't be happening right now]

Pert giggled once more before saying, "Yeah, even though it is very hilarious, we still need you to get a class in this death game."

Kyoko glared at him and said, "We don't know that this is a death game there is no proof. Maybe we will wake up after dying what do you know"

Dro said, "No this is a death game"

Kyoko looked at him as she asked, "Your proof?"

"I managed to contact a GM and asked that and he said"

Dro said what he heard from the GM at that time.

They all looked around, and Pert just sighed, "Whatever the case may be we have to get you a class"

Pert continued, "We won't be dying anyway, after all, we are all professional gamers."

Dro asked, "Yes real professional, you even ran into my fist."

When others heard of Pert's blunder, the laughed at him.

Pert announced, "Anyway, Four of us were the professional gaming team."

Pert continued, "We placed the first in the world tournament."

[Really?]

Pert said, "Well it that doesn't matter anymore as we are trapped here, and we know need to get your class."

He continued, "In this death game class is a must, or you will just die against the monsters."

Dro nodded and said, "Yes I need to have a class."

[Or I can't properly enjoy myself in this world]
