10 The Rebels

The male voice has made its point and wanted the Halfbreed. Considering the fact that I am the only Halfbreed in the car caused me to panic. "Why would they want me? Are they going to kill me? Have I done something wrong?" I ask either of them in panic starting to shiver which is hearable from my voice. Maybe they got the wrong car and are searching for another someone else. It's not like I'm the only Halfbreed alive trying, right?

The voice speaks once again "Get out of the car and hand over the Halfbreed. Don't try to do anything stupid or you'll regret it". I can feel the voice leaving my mind in an empty state. It has made its point once again and is waiting for our response. "I've sent the counsel a help signal. The academy isn't that far from us. They should be on their way. We have to delay them as much as possible." Olivia responds. "Good job, I'll deal with the rest. No matter what happens to me, don't try anything endangering your own life. Olivia if something undesirable happens I trust you know what to do." Jacob says in a gentle tone as if saying goodbye. Olivia nods with a serious face and gives me a quick glance before turning back facing the two cars in front of us. Around 5 men step out of the cars and are now standing in front of ours waiting for a response. I can sense them getting impatient. So does Jacob which is why he stepped out of the car.

An older guy with two other men are standing in front of our car. Jacob is heading to them, the older guys seems like the leader of the pack. Two different men are standing at each side of our car not too close not too far. Olivia and I are watching their every step to make sure when to act. Jacob reaches their leader and they seem to be talking for a short amount of time, it quickly turns to a fight which Jacob turns facing the ground within seconds. Terror reaching us and panic takes over. The two men standing at each side of our car are now heading towards us and I can see Olivia pressing her hands on her window. A brown color starts leaking from her eyes and filling the entire car. The car starts shaking, the doors get pushed to the insides and are now stuck. Scared I set back to the middle away from the doors and see Jacob standing and fighting with two men in front of him. With a powerful blow knocks one of the men down. -You can do this Jacob!- I cheer him up in my thoughts. The men who were heading to our car have now reached it, they're standing a few steps away from it. Both of them raise their arms pointing towards our car and start leaking a brown colored light. One men in front of Olivia's door at the right side and another at the left side in front of my door. Their brown light is building up, becoming brighter and stronger while Olivia's is getting weaker. I can see that Olivia is struggling with holding the doors shut.

"Jessica, there should be a gun beneath my seat. Take it and be ready to shoot them!" Olivia commands me in a calm way trying not to break her concentration. Panicked I try to reach down for the gun while hearing grunting and fighting sounds coming from Jacob and the others. -I can't kill someone.. I can't even kill insects let aside a human being..- I think, not saying it out loud so I won't break Olivia's concentration.

While still searching for the gun my door flies open and I can feel two hands on my throat choking me and pushing me to the other side of the car. Two brown eyes and two hands invading my body. A brown light starts surrounding my vision while two hands are blocking my pulmonary pipe. While hearing Olivia also struggling with the other guy I try kicking the guy sitting on top of me without success, I can't move my body. I'm numb, I can't control my body. The brown eyes have reached my blue ones and my whole vision fades away. My senses are shutting down when I remember my dream. Olivia is going to be shot if I don't win this battle. No, I won't let that happen. "No one will ever get hurt because of me again!" I shout.

With that said my body starts vibrating and the same energy starts streaming through my veins. I can feel power stacking up and my mind is fighting to take back control. My senses are coming back while I'm still getting choked. Anger reaches my body and my vision returns, a bright blue light shining out of my eyes and push the guy that was sitting on top of me to the car ceiling, denting it with his body and leaving him unconscious. Air stars once again flooding through my lungs and I get back to my senses. I see Olivia struggling with the other guy and decide to take instant action. I grab the guy's face and start pressing my thumbs in his eye's and scratching his face with my nails, making him scream in agony. Olivia gets the chance to recover and hits the guy in his throat and surges a power that forces the guys out of the car leaving him unconscious on the ground.

Pushing the other man out of the car we hear Jacob running our way. "Get in the car and be ready to leave!" he screams. Which we obey to instantly. While Jacob is running our way I notice that he knocked the three rebels down. The cars that were standing in front of us are now thrown upside down opening a path for us. All of the rebels are unconscious laying on the ground. Jacob jumps in the car and starts the engine. I notice some wounds on his face and blood on his t-shirt. "Are you okay?" I ask him worried. "I'm fine, are you girls okay?" Jacob ask which Olivia responds with "Thanks to Jessie we are". "Okay, nice. We don't have time to chit chat. These men may be down but others will follow. We have to be fast, the academy is still an hour by car. I don't think we can withstand another blow." Jacob says completely exhausted. "Why do they want her?" Olivia asks him worried. Jacob reacts with a simple "I.. don't know.". His eyes meet mine at the rear-view mirror and I can swear that I saw a glimpse of fear in his eyes. He is hiding something from me. And it can't be good.
