5 One of us?

"What do you mean?" I shout silently while standing up as a purpose to interrupt his gaze. "What could I possibly have done to you? It's you guys who were fighting about some weird stuff. I just happened to pass by." I answer. "So you eavesdropped while we were talking?" Jacob asks me which I answer with a nod. I see them glance at each other with a face I can almost call shocked. Is it such a big deal I question it by myself. "I haven't heard anything special.." I say while I catch myself once again staring at Jacob. His curly dark blond hair, his green eyes and perfect face. Why does he have such an effect on me? It's not like he's my type anyway.

Looking away I tend to go to the bathroom. Ignoring someone has never been this hard for me. What makes him any different from the others? While heading to the bathroom door I hear him ask "Where do you think you're going? We need answers, are you one of us?". Confused I keep heading to the bathroom before taking any of his sayings serious. "I need to wash my face. Am I allowed to do that?" I protest slightly mad. "Give the girl some break, Jacob. It's not like she's going to escape her own house, right?" Olivia says nonchalant which I only respond with rolling my eyes and closing the bathroom door, slightly slamming it.

Standing in front of the sink looking in the mirror I realize what had actually happened. So it was all real? The glowing eyes, me being corrupted by Jacob's eyes and almost getting 'eaten' in a way. My mind is basically blanked out. Let aside understanding the situation, I can't even seem to get my own. Were those blue lights coming from me? Why does it start happening just now? Could it be that it has something to do with me turning 18? So many questions without any answers. They want me to answers their questions? How can I possibly answer if I don't know anything. I'm as vacant as a blank paper.

Blue lights, I remember. Looking to myself in the mirror I envision a blue glow around my eyes. At a fast speed I feel a shifting inside my body. Just like a stuffy nose opens itself, I can feel something behind my eyes opening. A blue aura starts leaking from my eyes. My pupils are getting bigger and my light blue colored eyes have now turned bright blue. I lift my hands to eye level and can see the blue light reflecting on my hands. My heart starts pounding faster. Is this actually happening? Am I going crazy? Fear starts building up inside me. The blue light is getting stronger and stronger. Half of the bathroom has a blue tint. Exiting the bathroom I start screaming. "Help me! whats happening to me?" I shout.

I close my eyes while walking over to them and stumble over something; Great, gravity is doing his thing again. But before I hit the ground I get caught by the same strong arms that have carried me earlier today. Panicked he puts me on the ground and holds my eyes closed. "Jessica, you have to calm down. Steady your breathing and try inhaling from your nose and exhaling from your mouth." Doing as he says I can feel my eyes starting to cool down. I can smell his nice aroma from his hands that are placed on both my eyes. I can hear Olivia in the background talking on the phone. But the only thing I can focus is Jacob right now. He slowly raises his hand but I decide to keep my eyes shut. "You have to accept it, Jessica. Make peace with it. Your powers aren't ruling you. No, you are the one ruling them." Powers? Keeping in mind what he told me I slowly start opening my eyes fearing that I will somehow shoot lasers or something. I wouldn't want to scratch his perfect face would I.

Opening my eyes I can see him smiling at me. Even his smile is beautiful. God, am i actually falling for this guy? Ugh. Without giving me the time to process what just happened, Olivia interrupts "So are you ready to explain yourself Jessie?" while putting her phone in her pocket. Madly I stand up, a little dizzy "What in Gods name do I have to explain, Olivia? I think it's you guys that need to explain some things to me. What have you done to me back at the school corridor, Jacob? I'm still shivering while thinking of it!" I protest madly. "That, my sweetheart, was a method to make you forget about what you saw or heard back there. But apparently it did not work. The real question is, what was it that you did to me? I have never been under a that strong hypnosis before. You basically compelled me to stop erasing your memories by hypnotizing me. How? How did you do that? No one has ever stopped my entrance before. That's like Elite level.." Jacob questions while Olivia is studying me silently.

"Look, I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I woke up this morning seeing a blue light flashing which disappeared quickly. After that I got a headache, that's it, the only thing I know. You guys are talking about powers, hypnosis entering someones mind.. I'm supposed to be partying right now, celebrating my 18th birthday and not chit chatting with you guys about your stupid problems that don't even consider me! I just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time." I madly respond. "So you have never experienced an alike situation before you turned 18?" Jacob asks which I answer with a nod. I can see them looking at each other. Great, another mystery I think.

"Oh my god. Did you get beaten by a Halfbreed, Jacob?" Olivia said with laughter in her voice.
