4 Chapter 3: Goldstein

|Northern Orphanage|

"Madam, will you really take in those two?"

"Yes is there any problem?"

"N-no, it's just..."

The head caretaker was shaking his eyes and was hesitating to speak, swallowing his words, "Um... It's ugh"

The elegant lady with silky blonde hair with a pair of jeweled Azure blue eyes and wearing an exquisite Blue dress. She emits an elegant demeanor and a kind yet cold expression.

She was looking at the orphan children playing tag in the yard. Her eyes were filled with longing and grief.

Others were reading a book under the tree, some were sleeping still, happily talking, etc.

She was waiting for the two siblings to get prepared for the adaptation process.

-

"Mina, it's really happening"

"Y-Yeah, there's still time to escape"

"Won't we be marked as wanted?"

"Stupid Miere! We're not criminals!"

There were two arguing little angels in their room, they had a silver-white radiating fluff of hair, mismatched eyes of jet-black orbs and red-bloody ruby, fair skin like white jade porcelain. and chubby cheeks like a sweet cherry blossom.

They wore similar clothes of the opposite gender. Deep ocean blue light dress and huge golden ribbon on her waist, the boy had worn deep blue shorts and a suit with a golden tie.

Each of their ribbons has a soaring dragon emblem embedded in it. It was the Goldsteins' dukedom's emblem.

A knock echoed throughout the thin-walled room, "You two, your new mother is waiting outside" the twins gulped the moment they heard the message, unconsciously nodding directly.

The boy whispered, "We can't do anything about it, let's just get along with it for now"

The adorable little twins were holding each other's warm hands. They felt reassured to know the other was right beside.

-

In a noisy central district of the Royal Capital of the Estelle Empire. Where various people are gathered to purchase information or items. Be it nobles or commoners, mercenaries, or adventurers.

Strange rumors have been circulating around the capital. Since the duchess of the Goldstein household is infertile,  which means not being able to produce an offspring. Being depressed for years she got herself the determination to raise children and decided to adopt children from an orphanage.

It was like out in a fairy tale that the commoner siblings were adopted and became noble overnight.

-Goldstein Estate-

A bunch of maids and manservants were standing in front of the castle-like mansion, they had this aura of refinement surrounding them.

A noble's carriage accompanied by white mounts and had a soaring dragon emblem halted in front of the gates and the guard escort opened the carriage doors, holding out his hand while slightly bowing down his head.

"Welcome back, Duchess"

A gorgeous woman exited the vehicle followed by a girl and boy twin pair behind her, sticking their heads while holding her skirt with their adorable, small, and tiny little hands.

[Skill 'Twins telepathy' is activated]

-Miere, don't speak, we can't speak alright?

-Wearedumbwearedumbwearedumb

-stop mumbling in my head

-O-oh sorry!

"Lead the twins to their rooms" the woman spoke and smiled at the two, she noticed that the twins were nervous so she held out her hands and held them. She decided she'll lead them to their rooms by herself.

"Shall I?"

The two nodded simultaneously and gently clenched their palms to the duchess'.

The mansion was filled with a lot of historical treasures, the hallway was made with various rare materials and was crafted with diamonds and golds. The red royal carpet was laid down on the floor, the ceiling was vast and there's a golden and magical crystal chandelier above.

The garden has a lot of nameless flowers and plants, a purified water fountain, fresh green grass, and a wide yard. There were three moons lined up in the galaxy skies of different colors.

Yet the two that was following the duchess wasn't amazed by the once in a lifetime view, it's like they've seen more majestic than those.

The duchess was nervous because she couldn't guess what the once calm twins were thinking. Her two-stepped sons were also like these when they were young but these twins were a lot different from their new elder brothers.

They were anxious before but when they crowed faded away from their sight, they calm down like nothing special happened.

It shows she hadn't had a lot of experience when it comes to handling children. If only she wasn't infertile she could have enjoyed the moment of raising her own children but-

She slightly shook her head away from the negative thoughts, she neglected her two stepsons before, but she wouldn't do that again with her new children.

-

The Goldstein dukedom, a household connected to the royal family. The grand duke was away for war for the time being, and the two eldest sons are currently attending their classes at the academy, the middle child has locked up inside his room full of books and was never seen once by the duchess.

Now their new youngest family members a pair of boy-girl twin has joined.

The Goldstein dukedom was known for its influential power within and outside the social circle. The duke was powerful and the duchess as well. The duchess was known for her beauty and elegance, granting her the nickname Social flower.

However, she cannot conceive a child of her own and was depressed for years.

One day while strolling out from the mansion, and ended up in the downtown under the guise of being a commoner.

She stumbled upon little twins that were also strolling around. They didn't seem like they're lost and was calmly purchasing goods. She followed them like their stalkers and ended up in the northern orphanage.

She often visits the orphanage yet, she didn't know who the twins were. She has never seen them before and became curious to know them more.

She tried to talk to them but unfortunately, the two didn't seem like they can speak. The head caretaker said that they had trauma back in the days, but he didn't know their actual background.

Their appearance was a lot like •• in the passed down folktale of the old.

But she decided to take them under her care and raise them as her own.

It wasn't pity but she was already fond of the silence of the two. Unlike her stepchildren, they weren't talkative and they're like cute little angels.

"Can you be my children?"
