2 Prologue (II)

Altera Vita, the game to define a generation. That's what it's called now. Yet, the first time it was advertised, people thought it was a joke.

It was the world's first full immersive virtual reality game. People just couldn't believe that such a think could have been produced. In the 21st century of all times. Let's be honest, so many people where dreaming of such a game to exist. Yet, no one believed it was supposed to be possible for another 50 years or more. People just couldn't believe that here in 2021 this game was being launched.

Let's be honest, so many people called it a scam the first it was advertised. It wasn't even produced by any of the big gaming companies. Instead some unheard of company by the name of Ouranos. Everyone thought it was a joke. No matter how heavy a gamer they were, they just couldn't believe it.

The media, competitors, scientists, everyone you can think of. Everyone discussed it, even my father over Skype. My father, who hates anything to do with video games. The world was just shocked.

Even my guild mates in SWTOR couldn't stop talking about it. Was it real? What was it going to be about? Was it going to be like one of those games in far Eastern novels?

No matter what anyone thought or said about it. How wrong we were. No one could have expected how much it would change our very world.

All the games I loved, were about to get blown out of the water. Not going to lie, it is nostalgic to think back on the days of playing games like ES, SWTOR, TW and the others. But let's be honest here. They cannot even catch the tail of the game that is Altera Vita.

It really is "the game that defines the generation" What's more, its the game that changed the world as we know it.

This will be my story, my diary of sorts of how this game changed my life.
