11 Chapter Eleven

[P.O.V. Zyston Woods]

It has been two fucking days since my mate was taken from her house. There was nothing much to go on besides a cloth with chloroform and her broken cellphone when I got there. There was a male werewolf smell lingering as well. The smell was different from a born werewolf smell. With this smell, I could tell he was bitten into becoming a werewolf.

When a born werewolf changes for the first time, it is a very aggressive transformation. When a bitten werewolf turns, it is said the transformation. Hurts 20x times the pain of a born werewolf. The reason for this is because a born werewolf has years for its wolf to grow. Sixteen years to be exact, that's when the first shift happens. When a bitten werewolf changes, they have forty-eight hours to grow their wolf. With how harsh the transformation is, most humans don't survive.

'Who is this newly bitten werewolf? What does he want with my mate? Why did those rogue's attack my pack?' My mind is just racing with questions.

I have literally been looking for any information on what that rogue said. The truth is, Adriana and I have only been together for about two weeks now. Because of this, I don't know a whole lot about her past. I could figure it out on my own, but I was wrong. Now I have to go to the one person that I hope might know. Her dearest friend Scarlet Rosston.

Katrina, Jolene, and I went to the hospital where Scarlet was waiting for her husband's recovery. Kat explained to Scarlet about what had happened, leaving out the werewolf part. After explaining it, Scarlet had a look on her face like she knew something.

Scarlet and I left her husband's room with Katrina and Jolene to watch over him. We went into the hospital cafeteria to talk more privately. Not many sat in the cafeteria sitting next to Scarlet; she looked troubled. It's like she was hiding something the way she was playing with her coffee cup. Waiting patiently for her to speak. After minutes of waiting, she looked up at me with tears brimming in her eyes.

"This is hard to talk about only because it was my best friend, who like a sister that happened to.." Scarlet trailed off; she took a deep breath and let it out. "After college Jake and I went back home to Dark Wood. At that time, Adriana got her own apartment in Raven City". Tears falling down her face, she swallowed hard.

"Adriana and I kept in contact for three months, and in those three months, she told me she was dating someone. She seemed happy at first but two months later, after she told me about this man... We lost contact completely never understood why until one day. Three years later, a random number called my phone. The woman, on the other end, was sobbing. Just the sound of her voice, I knew exactly who it was. It was Adriana she told me she was able to escape the man... She asked Jake and me to come to get her... Jake and I picked her up at the location that we agreed on. She was covered in bruises and her own blood... we were so scared for her. We took her to the hospital immediately. After the doctor examined her, he told Jake and me what happened to her. He said she was physically and sexually abused... After the doctor told us that we knew that those years that she never contacted us. That man was beating and raping her." Scarlet was crying hard while trying hard to keep it together. My own heart felt like it was being squeezed, knowing Mate was in this danger.

"The reason I'm telling you this is because of what Kat said about the message that was sent to you. Adri told me of the place where it first began. He has an old family cabin that he has out in the woods. I'm not sure where it is, though." Using the back of her jacket sleeve to wipe her nose. Taking Scarlet hand to comfort her.

"Thank you for telling me. I know you care about her deeply, and I know this was hard to tell me." Saying with appreciation. A small smile crept on her face while looking at our hands.

"The man's name is Robert Lang.. please find her." She lets go of my hand and left the table. Mind-linking the girls, they decided to stay. Mind-linking Tyler giving the man name for information on where that cabin might be. 'One step closer, my beautiful mate. I'm coming; please hang in there.'

Getting back to the packhouse going into the basement where the infirmary is. Vincent and a woman with dark curly hair and dark skin were talking. This woman was an old witch friend of the family. She looked at me with her dark eyes with a smile on her face.

"Well, look who just walked through the door." She walked towards me, giving me a huge bear crushing hug. Pulling back, she smiled even bigger. "How have you been, kid? I haven't seen you since that day you took down that other Alpha and took his place". The woman said proudly.

"It nice to see you, Evanora." With a small smile on my face. "Wished the circumstances we're different for you were coming here." She waved her hand like it was not a big deal.

"Oh, please, I have always had a hard time saying no to you, Woods boys."

"You mean one Woods boy" Looking at Vincent, he gave me a scowling look.

"Just because I'm over here doesn't mean I can't hear you!" Vincent said angrily.

"I know that's why I said it." Amusement in my voice. Evanora slapped me on the side of the head. Couldn't help but to chuckle. Before Vincent met his first Mate, Evanora and Vincent were a couple.

Checking on my Warrior's that were poisoned, they were looking a little better. That night of the attack, Vincent found out what was in the poison and made an antidote. The poison itself contained wolfsbane, silver, and some other herbal substances. After visiting the Warriors Evanora, Vincent, and I went into the morgue where some of the dead rogue's bodies are.

"When Evanora and I examined the bodies, they contained the poison instead of blood. The reason behind this is because the rogue's bodies were already dead. Dark magic was used to bring back these dead rogues." Vincent says with fact.

"Once your Warriors bit into the flesh of these rogues. The blood that was replaced with poison got into your Warrior's body system. After the rogues fulfill the purpose of poisoning the host, the rogue body dies again." Evanora finishes.

"You telling me the reason behind the rogues looks still alive is to trick the host into biting them?" Asking them, they both nodded yes. 'Fan-fucking-tastic.'

The rest of the day was long after visiting Scarlet in the hospital and Evanora and Vincent in the infirmary and morgue. Ever since the attack, I have pushed training harder onto my pack and myself. I even taught them some different techniques I learned over the years.

After training with my pack and getting all my Alpha duties done, I went back to my house that night, sitting in the kitchen drinking a glass of bourbon. I'm more of a whiskey man, but bourbon what I drink when I'm beyond mad or upset. All I could think about was my stunningly gorgeous Mate. Worry and being scared is what I'm feeling as well as rage and hatred.

Not just me but both beast as well; it was affecting Stryker more than Travis and me. Not because we don't love and care about our Mate. But because dragons have more of a temper than werewolves and humans. Dragons fuel themselves with rage and hatred. They pretty much feed off it. It made them the fierce beast there known for today. Dragons also have a good side to them. They don't show it to anyone unless it is their mate or someone close to them.

Right now, though, Stryker is not in a good mood. He wants blood. In fact, we all do Stryker, Travis, and I all want to taste the blood of the man who has our precious Mate. We all want to feel his life fade away in the grip of our teeth as we pull his throat apart. Thinking about this has all three of us jumping with glee. Stryker more than Travis and I, even though Travis loves the taste of blood. Stryker loves the taste of flesh and blood. He wants to rip the heart out of this Robert Lang. Watch and make Robert eat his own heart; he could do it too.

It one of Stryker's power for being a dragon. He can bring the dead back for a short period of time. Thinking about what he could do by torturing the man. Pulls me back into the darkness where I hate going. The times I have brutally torture men and creatures of the past. I can still hear their screams and pleas for me to leave them alone. Thinking about this and my mate missing has me blacking out.
