18 Awakening!
When Guntira looked down the cliff, he saw Janoy still holding his mother. But this time, Janoy's grip was much stronger than any strength he had experienced!
Elena noticed the weird thing that was happening to her son. His grip was getting stronger. But what surprised her more was to see her son's chest glowing.
Its color was bright blue. Smash' heart was glowing!
From the beginning, Elena knew that this was what the group that attacked the towns were really aiming to possess. The mysterious thing that merged with Smash' heart.
But she didn't know what exactly it can do to Smash. Seeing her son's heart now glowing with blue light freaked her out. Now that that thing had already manifested, she's more worried for her son than ever.
Janoy lifted Elena as if he's just lifting his favorite comic book. Then he released his leg from the tree's trunk. Only his right arm was now hooked in the trunk. He then released his arm from the trunk and then grabbed the trunk with his hand.
He was now hanging with his one hand holding the tree and the other his mother. He threw his mother above and swung his body next so that he's following his mother in the air.
He held her in his two arms while they're in the air, then they landed in front of Guntira.
As soon as they've landed in the top, the blue energy that Janoy was releasing was subsiding quickly. Janoy and her mother were surprised who the person was in front of them.
Guntira, on the other hand, became disappointed with Janoy. The power Janoy was manifesting was way too low compared to what he was told. He might not be the kid he's looking for.
But Guntira got an idea. He stepped towards Elena. Elena and Janoy stared at him, stricken with fear. They were apprehensive. They knew he will do something.
Then, suddenly, Guntira pushed Elena!
Elena and Janoy were stunned. They were speechless. Elena was thrown and fell in the cliff. She can't scream as her mouth was locked by shock.
Pushed by his emotion and confusion, Janoy jumped down the cliff. He can see his mother falling. She'll going to die unless a miracle happens.
Elena's eyes were locked to Janoy. Janoy can see the terror in his mother's eyes. They were halfway through the cliff when Janoy's heart glowed again. This time it was brighter.
Then from his heart, the blue light ran through his veins and was going to his arms. When they reached his hands, something appeared at the back of his palms respectively. They were black in color and rounded and with groves. They looked like gears or little tires and made of rubber.
Janoy swooped downwards to grab his mother. He held her at her armpits and pushed her upwards.
Seconds after, Janoy's feet landed on the ground. Elena was also now descending. He caught her gently and put her on the ground.
Janoy just saved her mother from certain death once again! Thanks to the blue light in his heart, which kept on manifesting in dire times and was causing a strange transformation in him.
Out of his anger, Janoy climbed the cliff by jumping from rock to rock. He's heading back to Guntira. He was furious and wanted to crush the bald man! He bounced four times before he reached the top of the hundred-meter high cliff.
In his fourth bounce, he passed beyond the top of the cliff. He rolled his body while still on air and swiftly descended towards Guntira.
Guntira was surprised. Before he realized it's Janoy, Janoy's kick landed on his chest and he was slammed to the ground and bounced several times! Then Janoy rushed towards him and held one of his legs and Janoy spun.
He spun around, five times, while holding Guntama's leg. Then he let go of Guntira and he was thrown towards the forest. Two trees successively fell as Guntira collided against them.
"Woa! I-i-is that Janoy!?" Ato muttered.
From a distance inside the forest, birds flew away. Ato and Elena saw everything. They can't believe what they've just seen. Ato, especially, can't believe that the things that he'd been reading in comics or seen in movies can be true in real life!
A kid with superpower like his favorite superheroes! Never in his entire life he imagined it can be true! But what he just saw were beyond question.
Ato's eyes were locked at Janoy. He wanted to draw near him to see him closer. He had lots of questions. But he saw that Janoy's breathing was fast and deep. This was caused by Janoy's emotions of anger and, especially, fear.
Janoy feared that Guntira was still alive or worst unaffected by his attack! In spite of his transformation, he's frightened that Guntira might be way too strong for him. If this is true, then fighting him would bring death to all of them!
He waited for Guntira to come out from the woods. More than half a minute have passed already but there's still no sign of the bald man.
Janoy eased a bit. Then he walked towards his mother. But after his third step he froze. A stone zipped passed him and headed straight to Elena! Janoy was shocked. The stone flew at high speed. It was too late for him to catch it.
Elena barely noticed the stone passed her. She won't have noticed something almost fatally hit her had it not hit part of her hair and if not because of the air pressure that she felt.
From the woods, Guntira appeared walking towards them.
"Is that all you've got?" said Guntira to Janoy. "I could have hit her if I wanted to!" He took another stone and, again, threw it to Elena.
Janoy caught the stone. Guntira knew he will. Janoy was furious. He crushed the stoned at his palm.
"Three minutes... You have three minutes to bring out all you have within you. If you can't do it after three minutes, she will die!" Guntira warned Janoy.
Janoy's anger escalated. His heart glowed more. Seeing that the blue light from the kid's heart was increasing, Guntira got excited and smiled.
"YAARGHH!" Janoy charged towards Guntira but after few steps, he bent down, picked a rock and threw it to Guntira. It flew straight to his face!
The back of Guntama's palm was only four inches from his face when he caught the rock. But before he can lower his hand, Janoy had reached him and jabbed his hand.
The rock was crushed between Janoy's fist and Guntama's hand as they slammed at his face. Guntira was thrown away.
As soon as he stood up, Janoy's flying kick hit him at his rib throwing him again away. Janoy sprinted ahead of Guntira intending to smash him down.
Janoy locked the fingers of his hands and raised them above his head. As soon as Guntira will reach him, he'll hammer his fists down at Guntira.
But a blast of air hit Janoy as if fired by a canon compressor. Guntira didn't reached him. He stopped in mid-air by pushing the air with his two palms like he was doing a kame hame wave!
Then Guntira swiftly turned with one leg extended and one hand on the ground. His heel hit Janoy's face. Janoy's head slammed against the ground before he bounced several times away from Guntira and towards Elena.
Elena's eyes widened. He saw Guntama's foot impacted on her son's face! She closed her eyes and her body shook as soon as she heard the cracking sound of the collision of the heel and face.
"Oops!" Sorry, I overdid it," Guntira teasingly said.
Guntira waited for Janoy to stand. Janoy was lying on the ground his back facing the sky. Elena and Ato were trembling. Elena wanted to run towards Janoy, but she can't feel her legs.
Moments passed but Janoy still wasn't moving. Guntira was annoyed. He picked a stone and threw it to Elena, shocking Elena!
Before Elena can blink her eyes, Janoy wa already in front of her. The stone turned into pieces in Janoy's forehead.
"You only have two minutes left. There's no time for a nap," Guntira said to Janoy with a nasty smile.
Janoy stared at Guntira. His eyes were burning with anger. And his chest glowing more. Guntira smirked. Then suddenly, Janoy disappeared and almost instantly appeared before Guntira, his powerful fist was reaching the man's abdomen. But Guntira blocked his punch.
Janoy followed with rapid punches and kicks but it was clear from his moves the total absence of skill in martial arts and Guntira was blocking them all with ease.
It was now clear to Janoy that in spite of his transformation, his opponent was way too strong. He's starting to feel despair.
Janoy was thinking of a better thing to do and or a way to defeat this monster. He's running out of time and the man will soon attack his mother.
Ato, on the other hand, came to Nolie but saw that he's dead already. All that he can do was cry. He'd been praying for help but no one was coming. Elena wanted to come to Ato, but she realized that she would only put him in danger.
"Ato, you should have ran already!" Elena thought.
She opened her mouth to yell this to Ato. But she was interrupted when Janoy passed between her and Ato and collided into a nearby tractor that was partly hidden by corn plants. Janoy was just hit by Guntama's kick at the abdomen. Guntira felt bored and he gave Janoy a full powered kick!
Janoy felt the excruciating pain in his stomach. The kick briefly stopped his breathing and he almost passed out. He was coughing and felt his strength had left him.
His upper body half-embedded on the metal body of the tractor and this made it difficult for him to stand up. But he needed to get up again quick to check his mother. But with a weak body, he's stuck.
He tried to reach for the tire of the tractor, to hold unto the tire's groove or spike to pull himself out. But he can't reach the tire. He attempted more and stretched his fingers but he barely touched the tire.
His worry that Guntira might attack his mother somewhat made him wish that the tire come to him. But as soon as he made the wish, he saw the tire moved.
He thought that his vision had just blurred so he wished again to pull the tire and it stretched towards his hand. This time he's sure that part of the tire really moved.
He tried to change the direction of the part of the tire that stretched and it obeyed him.
Meanwhile, Guntira sat on a rock waiting a bit for Janoy. As soon as he stood up to do his next move, Janoy leaped from the cornfields together with the tractor's exterior tire. The tire was huge – nearly as tall as Janoy – and had spikes or grooves that were two-inch thick.
The tire landed first and Janoy followed. But Janoy landed on top of the tire. Guntira next realized that the boy was really riding the tire.
Janoy now know why there's a rubber gear that appeared at the back of each of his palms. His power was somewhat connected to a rubber tire. He can make the tire spin by controlling it mentally.
He rode the tire like how one rides a surf board. His feet were elevated two inches above the tire as he stood on top of it. But instead of heading towards Guntira, Janoy grabbed Ato and then Elena and they rolled away to escape.
