14 Chapter 13 A Prisoner

He didnt speak, so I didnt either. I got the impression that he didnt want to face what I said. That, or he didnt want to alert anybody of where we were.

He stopped at a clearing in the woods. I saw absolutely nothing there.

Why are we stopping? I asked silently.

Youll see. He whispered.

All I could hear was the faint rustle of the leaves in the breeze. If anybody were around us, I wouldnt have known.

Anton wasnt as convinced. His eyes circled the clearing, looking for any suspicious details that might have proved otherwise.

When his eyes finished sweeping the land, he slowly walked to a part of the clearing that was completely covered by leaves. He crouched on the ground, and searched in the leaves for a metal plate.

His arm carefully swept off the leaves. I heard a few quiet crinkles, but nothing too loud. He delicately brushed off some dust particles before motioning me over to the metal door.

I tiptoed over to him cautiously. I avoided all leaves and twigs that I could.
