10 Chapter 10 A New Surprise

She was tired and needed water, so she went where no wolves go, the backside. At the backside there are bears hogging a lake, so they don't run out of water. The wolves gave them that lake because they were taking all of their water, and were at war. So the wolves gave the bears that lake, and have been at peace sense. She headed for it, unaware of the consequences, waiting for a fight, but she was ready for it. As she headed to it, she heard screams, and cheers, as if a party was going on. So she crept down low, and all the noise the bears were making hid her own sound.

She slowly headed to the top of the mountain, and to the back of a cave. The water hole was about thirty yards away. If she crept by, drank, then left as if nothing happened that would be great! But this is no the case. Bears were everywhere, playing a game that they made. "Looks like it's the championships," She whispered to herself. She crept by the trees, hiding herself. Now the water was ten feet away. She was ready to fight if she needed to. She looked around the lake for a rock, and to her luck there were two rocks close to each other forming a tunnel. It was also straight away from her. She ran, while she crept down low. Then drank, it felt so good on her dry throat, but with every good thing, a bad thing must follow. A bear saw her, and waited for her to finish. When Alpha was done she backed up, and bumped into the bear.

"Um...Hi." She tried to speak casually, but terrified was the expression she showed, shaking as well. Gulping, she turned around to see a big, brown, hairy, strong, bear. His paw raised in the air, claws sharp, ready to scratch.

"WAIT!" She screamed

Startled, the bear froze. "What? Why?" The bear spoke with a low grimacing voice an edge of inquiry to it.

"I'm trying to fix the Columbine pack, from Rocky. If you let me pass I will be out of your fur, I just needed a drink of water, and I'm hiding myself until I'm rested."

"So your not here for meat?"

"By myself? No! Now that's just bad planning."

"I'll let you pass then, but you're not sleeping here." He commanded, still very grimacing.

"Yes, I know, thank you."

The bear moved away, and Alpha left the watering hole. She now went by the trees, that made some sort of wall between the Bears, and the Wolves. She found a comfortable place to sleep for the cold night. Ready for tomorrow's battle, Alpha slept with ease, not scared at all. Hopefully she would be like that tomorrow.
