Alpha of the Dead

Siobhan Williams has always been a smart woman, graduated early from high school, and excelled in her college career. She went into the FBI at an early age and is one of the youngest agents in her Unit. Working in the crimes against children division of the BAU, the FBI is brought in when the number of kidnappings reaches an alarming number; 13 children over the course of two months. These kidnappings are occurring in her home state of California, where she hasn't gone back to her home and pack for almost a decade, but now she and her partner volunteer to head the investigation for these disappearances. Along with a few other agents—another wolf shifter, a bear shifter, a Fae, and a vampire—they head straight into a battle between the Gods and Goddesses. With enough on her plate, the last thing she needs is a mate hovering around her and getting into her business. Tiernan Hathaway has been Alpha of his pack for the last 9 years and has yet to meet his mate though he remembers having a pull to the old Beta's second eldest daughter, Siobhan. It's been almost a decade since he had last seen her and she only ever calls her family, never coming home. This will change when children have begun to go missing at alarming rates, most of them being children of the supernatural community. He is in for a surprise when the FBI comes knocking on his door, about the missing children. A battle is brewing between the God and Goddess of the Underworld: Arawn and Scàthach. It's classic good vs evil with a twist of the dead, undead, and the living. Are the missing children a part of a greater, but evil plan in this war? Or is it just a coincidence?

Chapter 3

(Tiernan’s P.O.V)

I was busy working at the construction and architecture firm that I own, now that my father had retired, when Patrick, my Beta walks in.

“Well, the wayward Williams is on her way home.” He says, flopping himself down on the couch in my office.

“Siobhan’s finally coming home?” I inquire.

I had always been drawn to her, her beautiful dark hair and deep blue eyes that feel as if they are looking straight through your soul. She was petite when we were kids and not much of a fighter, but she was ridiculously smart. My wolf, Steele, perked up at the mention of Siobhan. He was equally as obsessed with her as I was.

“Yeah, apparently she’s coming out here to look into the kidnappings.” He says.

“Why is that any of her business?”

“She works for the FBI remember?” He says incredulously.

“Oh, right. I forgot.”

I honestly had forgotten that she worked for the FBI, I didn’t keep tabs on her because I didn’t want to come across as creepy or stalker-ish.

“When does her flight arrive?”

“Should be around 5, but I’m sending Jordan to pick her up and take her and her team to their hotel. Her team includes a werebear, a wolf from a pack on the East Coast, a vampire, and Fae.” He chuckles at the odd assortment of supernaturals.

“Are they all agents?” I ask, kind of surprised that so many supernaturals were working together.

“Yes, they all work in her unit, and all volunteered to come here. The werebear has already been in contact with her Alpha so you should be expecting some form of communication from him.”

“We’ll go to the hotel and meet with them before they start their investigations. Plan to leave here at 6 so that gives them time to settle in.”

Patrick nods and walks out, closing the door behind him. I look back at my computer, seeing the information my Gamma, Drake Jamison, sent me about the kidnappings. We knew what had been going on and had been compiling information on the case because some of these children were from packs and sleuths around the area. Drake owns a security company that specializes in tech and mercenaries, so we can get information from every angle. I’m hoping that the children are okay, the parents of the pups, cubs, and spell casters can feel that they are still alive. Their familial connection has not been broken. Not being able to find anything out of the information Drake provided me, I get back to work finishing up design plans for a new home for some celebrity in Los Angeles wanting a second home in Northern California. As 6 o’clock draws near, Steele starts pacing around getting anxious to see Siobhan.

Why are you so anxious?

We haven’t seen Siobhan since before she shifted, I wanna smell her. You remember how delicious she smelled when we were younger.

You are beyond weird, no sniffing the Beta’s sister.

Steele huffs annoyed that I told him no when Patrick walks in ready to head to the Hotel Villagio. The drive over was quiet and short, stepping out of the SUV I make sure that my suit is free of wrinkles before heading to the suite Siobhan and her team are staying in. As we get closer to the suite, I smell her. Siobhan.

She smells even better than I remember.

Yeah, she does.

I couldn’t help the shiver that ran through me, smelling her honeysuckle and wildflower scent. Patrick knocks on the door and a man answers, making Steele growl.

She’s sharing a hotel room with a man!?

Steele shut the fuck up and calm down.

I walk in and find Siobhan sitting on the couch, her eyes wide, and mouth hanging open. The moment I laid eyes on her Steele growls out the word that I was surprised to hear

Mate

“Mate,” I whisper

“Mate,” Siobhan whispers at the same time.

Holy fuck, Siobhan Williams is my mate, and I did not see that one coming. I don’t feel myself moving but it’s like I blink, and suddenly, I’m right in front of her, gripping her upper arms and pulling her to my chest. Burying my nose in her hair and inhaling her scent, a shiver runs down my spine at how delicious she smells, and then I smell it. Her arousal. A growl rumbles through my chest, knowing there are other males in this room, smelling my mate being aroused. Steele takes control, picking her up and carrying her to the room that we assume is hers since her smell is all over it. He kicks the door closed before striding over to the bed and laying her down, wedging between her legs. He buries our face in her neck and begins kissing and nipping at the skin of her marking spot causing her to moan and that sound goes straight to my cock. Steele and I are so engrossed in the moment that we don’t even notice that Siobhan is pushing against us.

“Alpha Tiernan, please get off of me.”

Steele finally registers that she is pushing against our chest and that is when he hands back control. I sit up and cup her face with my hands, feeling the sparks dance along my skin.

“Si,” I whisper as I lean in for a kiss.

Before my lips can make contact with hers, a sharp pain emanates from my cheek and after a moment, I realize she slapped me.

“What the fuck!?” I yell.

“Don’t fucking yell at me Alpha. You were trying to fucking kiss me without my consent!” She yells back.

“You’re my mate!”

“So!? That doesn’t give you the right to do whatever you want! And I don’t want a mate.” She states before she pushes me completely off of her and walks out the door.
