Is Marina Here?

[IN THE FISHERS PACK]

Nothing worked. She has been hysterical since Doctor Bedelia took Alpha Fisher's body. Asking the same question repeatedly, "is Marina here? Is Marina here?"

Of course, she received the same answer, "Marina isn't here yet."

Marina was back at City Blue, driving around, restless. She forgot about the news as soon as her head hit the pillow earlier. Who will blame her? No one. Well, they still didn't know that the alpha's daughter forgot that as soon as sleep overtook her.

No one would calm Luna Audra down. No one.

Even the pack gossiped about how useless Doctor Bedelia was with her years of studying medicine. She was the best doctor the pack has ever had and the one doctor the people from The Lake always wanted treatment from.

She, on the other hand, cared less about the gossip, after all, it was in the plan, and soon Alpha Fisher would come back and her mate would stop crying. And so there she was, in her chamber listening to Luna Audra's wails just like the other wolves.

Earlier, when they called High Priestess to go and help Luna Audra, she went there and hand her a simple concoction, but it didn't calm her. Again, it was in the plan and the High Priestess Manne didn't care when she heard the wolves talking in a hushed voice that they couldn't believe that she failed.

Of course, if she wanted to make Luna Audra stop crying, she would. Magic was her second name; she knew all the herbs that existed in the universe. Hell, she could even mix the concoctions with her eyes closed.

For a minute, when they saw Beta Shark going inside Luna Audra's chamber, the pack thought. "Finally, we can have a peaceful day."

But no. That didn't happen because when he came out, the cries were even louder than when he went in. What did he say to her? What did he do?

And just like that Beta Shark left the packhouse to 'handle some business."

The pack was surprised that her throat hadn't closed yet. 'The woman must have been a great singer when she was young.' The wolves claimed. They asked each other if one of them could try to go in and help but each had the same answer. "Hell no!"

There was a chance one look at whoever the wolf was, they would find their bodies outside Chief Ayn's office, crying. "Please help." And the way the pack loved gossiping as if it was their air, gossiped, it will be rumored forever that the wolf was found down crying mercilessly.

No one wanted that.

She moved around the chamber, smelling Alpha Fisher's clothes she could get her hands on. If anyone in the pack saw her in that desperate situation, would they have continued their ridiculous gossip? Luna Audra blew her nose. And for a minute, she stayed quiet.

Everyone outside felt as if they could run into the chamber and say to her, "thank you, good heavens, that has been torture."

They were wrong. She searched for her phone helplessly, maybe calling her daughter would help. Maybe Marina would hear it for the second time and maybe this time around, she wouldn't hang the phone on her.

When the call went directly into voicemail, she threw her phone into the wall and the wails continued.

****

Inside her chambers, Doctor Bedelia groaned as she kept staring at her phone, just like Luna Audra who wondered whether Marina has arrived, she anticipated that any time soon, her niece will call her telling her that she has arrived.

But nothing. "Patience sister." Her brother's voice came to her.

She nodded and picked the black shawl Alpha Rinzler gave her to give Marina as soon as she arrived. She folded it and mumbled, "oh, poor thing."

A minute didn't pass after thinking of Marina and she received a text from Pepper, the cook from the Mountain Pack. She read it and at least a smile showed on her face. She replied a thank you and placed the phone in her pocket.

She heard footsteps approaching her chamber, Doctor Bedelia stared at the shawl one last time and headed to the door.

The wolf's heartbeat could be heard by anyone from a distance, she was panicking. Doctor Bedelia swung the door open, "what?"

"It is… It is…" The wolf said between breaths.

"Get it out."

"Luna Audra."

"Uh?"

"She has run outside... come and see."

Doctor Bedelia bolted outside, never apologizing to the wolves she pushed. She arrived outside and when her eyes fell on High Priestess Manne, she exclaimed, "not now Audra, not now."

A magic boundary stood, Doctor Bedelia and High Priestess Mannequin were the only ones who could see through.

In the middle of it stood a big silver wolf, eyes glaring, Doctor Bedelia approached the wolf slowly, a few inches away, and she murmured, "Audra, calm down."

Luna Audra's wolf stared at Doctor Bedelia, and then slowly, lifted its head and released one loud howl Doctor

Bedelia would have sworn the howl could be heard by any pack miles and miles away.

"Oh, crap!" Doctor Bedelia groaned as she entered the magic boundary, she transformed. She spoke to her sister-in-law through the mind-link. After a few minutes of Luna Audra's wolf just staring at Bedelia's, she transformed back into her human form.

High Priestess stared at the two of the women, she wondered, "what did she tell her?"

High Priestess mind-linked Doctor Bedelia's helper to bring some clothes, and by luck, the man was already approaching them with clothes in her hand. He stopped when High Priestess asked him to. The clothes floated in the air and dropped on High Priestess' feet.

She kicked them into the boundary and watched as the women dressed up.

"Sorry and thank you." Luna Audra said. Bedelia's eyes creased together as she wrapped her hand around Luna Audra.

High Priestess Mannequin waited for them to enter the packhouse and then followed. Hurriedly, she walked through the corridor and went into her chambers, immediately she closed the door, high-fived herself in excitement, and mumbled, "it worked."

The woman sat on the bed, an evil smirk on her face.

The smirk disappeared when the memories flashed into her mind. The memories of when she first realized that her vengeance was directed at the right people. Alpha Fisher and his proteges were as evil and they must pay for their sins.

However, for Alpha Fisher, High Priestess sworn to make him suffer, after all, he was the one who came up with the plan to cover up Marina's gruesome mistakes.
