Letitia's past

A long, dark dream in which Letitia once again falls back into the memory of her past.

It was the day she was found to be a sober-elves, before that day she had lived a peaceful and prosperous life, enjoying the favours of her father. At that time she lived in Spring City, the most recognized and peaceful area of the werewolf pack, where her father was the ruler of a radical pack.

However, she was not her father's biological daughter.

At a very young age, her mother swapped her with her father's real daughter in the hospital to get back at the radical werewolves.

A long time ago, her mother fell in love with a pacifist werewolf and lived in a town by the sea.

Her real father has been working to improve the human rights status of the sober-elves.

But as the conflict between the radicals and the pacifists intensified, the radical werewolves set off an assassination campaign, killing many of the pacifist werewolves.

Her real father, one of them, died the night before Letitia was born.

In retaliation, her mother bribed a radical werewolf, a slave of Letitia's later "father's" family, to replace her "father's" real daughter.

This secret was kept hidden for over a decade, allowing Letitia to grow up as the eldest lady of the Gerard family.

But eventually, the secret was revealed.

It had rained that day and when she returned home she heard the servants talking in whispers. She caught a few short sentences on the wind that

"Did you hear about Letitia's real identity ..."

"I heard that the head of the family had planned to find her a fiance!"

"I didn't think she was actually not the family head's own daughter ..."

She tried to go to hear what followed, but a change occurred and she stepped off and fell violently to the ground.

The last thing she was awake to see was the gloom as if it would fall at any moment, sky.

She had lost a lot of blood and almost instantly it was confirmed by the pack that she was not a purebred werewolf.

Everyone from the kin of the pack to the servants cursed her identity.

"Lowly sober-elves, and mixed into our pack!"

"Tell her to get out!"

"She deserves to die!"

Her father, who put her in the basement, ended up, moreover, sending her to the sober-elves shop.

In the sober-elves shop, after one severe beating after another, she finally realised that she could not escape and that she had to resign herself to her fate.

She began to cry.

In her sobs, she held sadly the source of heat she felt in her hands. But she felt frightened even from her dream. For she quickly reacted to the fact that no one would hold her hand like that, and that the only person who could be nearest to her was her master.

She immediately opened her eyes and subconsciously stepped back. When she reacted, she realised that she was lying on a large, soft bed, with her owner's coat beside it. And the person who had given her a rare bit of warmth in her dream was the same owner who had held her hand but whose hand she had subconsciously shaken away.

But she saw Joshua's look of dismay with a hint of dismay and immediately sobered up. She gripped the corner of the quilt in fear, and the soft touch made her heart subconsciously relax a little.

Wasn't that a bad attitude she had just had?

Letitia couldn't help but think as she gripped the corner of the quilt. She always almost forgot that she was sober-elves at critical moments like this.

But he didn't seem angry, he seemed relieved.

She subconsciously huddled nervously under the covers and realised that the nightgown she was wearing did not seem to be the same one she had worn before.

This one had a more elaborate bow and was made of better material, and looked more elaborate than the one she had prepared before.

Could Joshua have prepared this dress for her too?

Joshua was relieved to see her biting her lip and not saying anything, but looking fine. He stroked Letitia's head, the silk-like texture of which made him want to touch more.

But he restrained himself and withdrew his hand, picking up a plate of food from the side. He had ordered some porridge to be prepared earlier, with finely chopped fish and prawns that smelt delicious.

He gestured for Letitia to open her mouth and held the spoon up to her mouth with a gentle but firm gesture.

Slowly, Letitia opened her mouth gently.

The atmosphere slowly flowed as one fed the other, some indefinable emotion floating in the air.

When she had finished her porridge, Joshua saw that her mood had stabilised and he said gently and soothingly, "You need to go to a party with me tomorrow, I'll have someone prepare a beautiful dress for you, I picked it out myself. "

He put emphasis on the last few words.

Letitia bit her lip and nodded, she was still scared, but with Joshua's gentle gaze on her, it didn't seem so difficult to gather her courage.

She slowly drank the nourishment Joshua had mixed for her, and although she didn't want it very much, she didn't dare show it.

Just the thought of what Barry had said made her physically retch.

After Joshua walked out with the tray, she couldn't take it anymore and rushed into the bathroom and threw up all.

After throwing up she felt even worse, the shock combined with the fact that she hadn't eaten anything had made her face even paler.

She slowly looked up at herself in the mirror, so timid and sensitive that she couldn't hold back any longer, sat down against the wall and slowly burst into tears.

She cried for a long time, but no one came to disturb her. She looked out of the window at the sky, which had turned from a gentle light blue to a magnificent purple, and she realised that she had been alone all afternoon and that it was now night.

A little later, Letitia was tired of crying and she had sorted herself out in the mirror when she heard a soft knock on the door twice. She looked up and it was a cook with her head hung low, bringing in dinner with her.

"Thanks." Letitia whispered hesitantly as she took the plate of food.

After thinking about it, she looked down at her nightgown and added again, "My dress is ... Did you give me? Thanks."

The cook shook her head and said honestly, "We haven't been upstairs this afternoon until now, your clothes should have been brought by the young master."

Letitia stood frozen in place for some time before she suddenly reacted and subconsciously took a step back.
