29 Twenty-nine

Sunlight beamed through the curtains in front of me, forcing me to cover my eyes with my hand. I groaned and turned the other way, allowing my arm to collapse on the other side of the empty bed.

I sat up and groggily said, "Levi?" No response. I popped open one eye and scanned the bright room. Empty.

I rolled my eyes and tossed the covers off my body. Where is he? Just then I remembered, I left him last night.

I frowned and climbed out of the comfortable bed, giving it one last look before entering the bathroom. I sighed and analyzed my bed hair. I laughed and tried my best to comb it out with my hand, failing miserably.

I brushed my teeth with the new, expensive robotic looking tooth brush and after that, I felt pretty good. Now, I have to face Levi.

After what happened yesterday, what will he think? I hope he doesn't think that just because I had one vulnerable moment, that means he has full access to me. I still haven't forgiven him.

I crossed my arms and exited the bathroom, making my way downstairs. The smell of eggs invaded my nose, only making me walk faster down the steps to get to the delicious smell.

When I finally made it down the steps, Levi's bare back was facing me, he was next to the stove with a pan in his hand. This couldn't be good.

I stood there for a few seconds, just watching him try to cook. He wasn't doing too bad, actually. Better than last time.

"Shit!" He growled making me jump, his head snapped back to me and as soon as we made eye contact his eyes softened. "I knew I smelt something good." He spoke with a smirk on his face. I playfully rolled my eyes, ignoring his statement and walked toward him.

"What're you making?" I asked him while I poured myself a glass of water.

He shrugged, "just some eggs, bacon and buttered toast. No big deal." I scoffed at his response, "we all know what happened the last time you tried to cook." I took a sip of my water and looked at him with slanted eyes.

"Oh come on, you can't tell me I didn't do a good job," he scooped the scrambled eggs onto a plate and lifted it up to me to reveal two heart shaped pieces of bread, three pieces of bacon and a handful of scrambled eggs.

My heart could absolutely burst.

"Well… I guess you did alright." Is all I said, not wanting to boost his ego too much. I grabbed the plate from him and mumbled a thanks before beginning to walk away.

"Wait." He said. I turned around and raised a eyebrow. He nervously scratched the back of his neck and spoke, "want to watch a movie? Beauty and the Beast?"

I gave him a small smile and nodded.

We made our way back up to the master bedroom and he turnt on Beauty and the Beast while i began to eat my heart shaped toast. "You really didn't have to do this, Levi, I really could have eaten chips or something."

"Nonsense. My mate should never have to succumb to junk food." He seriously said. I laughed at his response and shook my head.

"Besides, you trusted me with your body yesterday. That means something to me, I wanted to do this for you, to say thanks."

I bit my lip and nodded. He cleared his throat and mumbled, "also, you have to do a favor for me."

I rolled my eyes and groaned. When will it end? "Is it really a favor if I have to do it? That's called a demand, Levi."

"I'm sorry, alright? But this is very important for the pack and for me so if you could do this favor for me I'd really appreciate it."

I stayed quiet for a minute and muttered, "what is it?"

"It's the yearly lycan meeting. We have to attend it, every alpha and Luna has to, it's in a week and we only have to go for three days, then we're done."

Just thinking about this made my stomach ache. I can't stand being around Levi sometimes, how can I possibly be in a room with hundreds of alphas and come out alive? Also, will I be the only human there? Do I have to interact with the other lunas?

My eyes widened and I slapped my hand on my mouth, "my heat! I can't go there like this!"

"I know, I know, I already thought that through. We could just do what we did yesterday… if you're comfortable with that.. it seems like the most effective way to slow it down for large amounts of time."

He was right, I hadn't felt the pain of my heat in hours! I licked my lips and nodded, "yeah. That's okay, I guess." I watched his eyes flicker between my lips and eyes quickly before he turnt his head away from me.

We sat in a awkward silence for a few minutes, just listening and watching the movie before I asked, "will the other werewolves there be able to… you know.. smell me?"

He nodded. "Unfortunately the smell that your body gives off while you're in heat is impossible to completely cover but I can do my best to cover it enough to where it isn't a huge distraction."

Thoughts filled my mind; what about my mom? What if they don't like humans and try to harm me?

"Don't worry, Naomi, as long as you're by my side nobody will touch a hair on your head," he slipped a piece of my hair behind my ear, "besides, it's less than a week and I only have a few alphas that I need to talk to personally."

"Like who?" I asked curiously.

"Well, there's Alpha Asher. One of my warriors came across a unfamiliar scent. Apparently, the scent belonged to Asher's Luna's brother. They're really concerned and want me to try and help find him. Also a few of my old friends are going to be there, im looking forward to introducing you to them." Levi smiled and averted his gaze back to the tv.

I hummed and sighed, "just three days."

"Just three days, my love."
