"My luna." The alpha whispered. All the girl's eyes were on me. Some envying me and others pitying me. I couldn't describe what I was feeling. Sad? Shocked? Furious? I was numb. I was the alphas mate.

I was his.

My breathing began to become heavy as this all caught up to me. He was going to take me to his pack. I'd have to bare werewolf babies. I would be isolated from humans and surrounded by predators.

"No.." I stepped back away from them while trying to keep my legs from giving out due to standing all night in heels.

The alpha gave me a concerned and confused look. He tried to help me by extending his hand for me to grab I slapped it away and took three more steps away from them. The girls around me gasped and the instructor took a step toward me and growled at me for disrespecting his alpha.

The alpha let out a loud, dominating growl telling the other man to keep away from me. "Mate, calm down. I won't hurt you I promise."

I opened my mouth to reply but just shook my head instead. For each step I took backward he took forward.

"Don't be scared.."

I shook my head again and let out a scream as I tripped on a rock and tumbled down onto my back. He quickly made his way toward me, concerned, and kneeled. His eyes softened while he looked closely at me. "Your so beautiful.. just what I imagined. You'll make a great luna and mother.." his voice went quieter at the end of his sentence but I heard it. And I was not pleased.

"I am not going to bear your children." I huffed out before I could stop myself. he raised a brow and laughed. "We will see about that in the future, mate."

"You sure do love that name.." I stared down at the ground. He let out a small chuckle. "I do. you don't know how long I've been searching for you. My wolf is ecstatic. we're never gonna let you out of our sight."

Those words knocked me back into reality. I was having small talk with the beast who would take my freedom away. He stood up extended his hand for me to grab.

I quickly thought of a plan and put it in action. "Mind if I take these off?" I pointed to my heels and made a pouty face, "I've been standing here all night and my feet hurt so bad!" I cried out. I wasn't lying but I definitely wouldn't exaggerate like this.

He nodded quickly and leaned down to help me himself. I looked next to me where the rock I tripped on was.

"Alpha?" I quietly whispered. He lifted his head to me and stared into my eyes, looking like he'd bring me the moon if I'd want it.

"You can call me Levi." He said, "what do you need, my love?"

"Please send these girls home. I'm sure they are tired and drained of energy." I pouted. He nodded quickly and ordered the other wolf to send the girls home. Everything was going perfectly.

Once my second heel was off I took a deep breath, preparing myself for a huge risk. I grabbed the rock next to me and slammed it down on his head. Pain and regret gushed through my body at what I did.

He let out a loud grunt and I didn't waste a second before I took off running. As quick as I could. I didn't want to look back, I couldn't in fear that the alpha would be behind me.

After a few minutes of running and hiding my eyes locked onto my house and I smiled. a loud, pained and furious howl rippled through the night. A howl from the alpha. I couldn't stop now. I continued running and slammed my fists on the door, hoping my mom would answer before he got here.

The door swung open and I ran into my mother's arms. Tears fell down my face and I felt her crying along with me. "My baby! I don't know what I'd do if I lost you." She cried and leaned back to look at my face.

"Mom.. mom I got chosen." I told her and watched her smile fade. "What?" she asked.

"I got chosen.. by alpha Levi." Tears rolled down my face as I informed her of my terrible fate. She pulled me into another hug and my eyes found my dad. He had no emotion on his face.

I pulled away from my mother and walked toward him. "I know you're probably ecstatic right now huh? You finally got what you wanted. Your daughter being protected by a monster."

He shook his head and reached for me but I pulled back, "stop! This never should've happened! We should've left this town years ago after this law was made.."

"Believe it or not this is all the best decision for you. You have an alpha as a mate. My baby girl will have a long, healthy, and happy life." He grinned at me, and yet after all I've said he still could only see things from his point of view.

It was like talking to a brick wall. I shook my head in disapproval and walked up close to him, "at least I won't have to see you again."

Before he could say anything I walked into the kitchen and placed my hands on the counter, trying to prepare myself for whatever punishment the alpha will give me for hitting him in the head with a rock.

I shook my head in disbelief. Did I seriously do that?

My mother quickly walked up to me. "If you got chosen by the alpha, where is he?" She hesitantly asked with tears still staining her face. I rubbed my tired eyes. "I did something horrible, mom."

She furrowed her eyebrows and I could see my dad coming closer to hear what I had to say.

"I.." I took a deep breath, "I ran away from my- from the alpha," my mother covered her hand with her mouth with widened eyes, "and I hit him in the head with a rock." I groaned.

My dad walked up to me with an angry look on his face, "do you have a death wish, noami?"

I scoffed. "Would you care?"

He slammed his fists down beginning to lecture me before there were multiple hard bangs on the door. Our heads snapped to the door and I shook my head. "Dad, don't!" before he could register the words that came out my mouth he opened the door.

Revealing an angry 6'8 alpha.

My heart started pounding against my chest as soon as his eyes met mine, again. Except for the last time he had a relieved look on his face. Now he was just pissed. Way to piss the alpha off, Naomi. I shook my head.

"I'm guessing your alpha Levi?" My father asked.

Levi completely ignored my father almost as if he wasn't even there. All he could see was me.

My eyes shifted over to the staircase. I could make a run for it and jump out the window in my room. I've gotta try. Looking from the alpha to the staircase I quickly made a run from it, not getting far. I got to the second step before he stopped me.

"If you take one more step I'll mark you right here in front of your parents."

I stopped in my tracks, breathing heavily. I could not let him mark me. If he marked me that was it. We'd be bonded and he wouldn't have to track me down if I ran away, because he'd only have to read my mind.

It's almost as if this was a different person. the guy I met in the woods was cheerful while this guy was rough.

I turned around on my heels meeting the alpha's eyes once again. They were darker but still had that sparkle when they met mine. He grabbed my arm and forcibly pulled me against him. I shuddered at the feeling of his hard body against mine. He let out an animalistic growl when he felt me against him.

"Mine," he said in a relieved voice. He lifted me up and put me over his shoulder. I didn't even try to fight anymore. I've stood in heels for hours, watched my neighbors get snatched, cried, almost passed out, hit an alpha, ran away from my mate, and fought with my dad.

Enough was enough.

My mom and dad waited next to the door. I couldn't see my mom but I was quite sure she was crying.

"Will she be able to come to visit?" My mother's hoarse voice asked, bringing tears to my eyes.

The alpha must've replied with a nod or a head shake. I guess I'd never know. My mom sniffed and rubbed her hand against my leg.

"Can we say goodbye?" She asked, sounding like she was on the verge of breaking down.

The alpha set me down but gave me an 'if you run away, you will regret it' look. I took a deep breath and faced my mom. Her face was red and tears covered her cheeks. I brought her into my arms and gave her the biggest hug I could muster.

I've lived with my parents all my 18 years of my life. My mother was my best friend since I was homeschooled. The pain was unbearable but I was too tired to cry.

"I love you mom." Was all I could say.

"I love you baby, so, so much."

I backed away from her and turned to my dad. As much as I was pissed at him, I would regret not saying goodbye. I pressed my head into his chest and sighed. "Bye dad."

"Bye baby girl. stay safe, you hear me?"

I pulled back and nodded before turning back to the alpha. He picked me up again and threw me on his shoulder, walking away from the house and setting me into the car.
